Chapter 1

Best laid plans... go awry sometimes..

Maanik.. A precious
stone.. His dad's precious gem.. That's what he had heard from his father from
the day he could remember. Those were the days when he had a family.. A normal
middle class family.. Where his father used to play with him with twinkle in
his eyes... where he would share plans of having a small sister of Manik. Manik
knew that his father always wanted a daughter.. But his wish was never
fulfilled.

He did not have a
lot of memories of his mother Nyonika.. She had left him with his father when
he was 7. Apparently she was forced to marry her father by her parents and had
loved someone else... a khandaani rich guy.. Who was still waiting for her after 7
years...but he could not accept her in front of the society.. They were in a live
in relationship and are still yet to be married.. Manik hated his mother..
Because of her his childhood was lost.. His father had lost his eye sparkle...His
hatred for his mother had shaped his views on lot of women .. He did not
generalized them... but he usually used to mistrust them.. Specifically rich ,
spoilt girls were the first ones to backstab them.. And in this case Nandini
Murthy was proving him correct..

Manik: Liar...

Manik lunged at
Nandini but was stopped by Cabir.

Manik: What type of
sick game are u trying to play Mam.. If u don't want to marry your fiance ..
Then tell him on his face .. Stop resorting to cheap tricks...

Cabir : control
yourself manik...

Nandini : Please let
me explain .. I was about to tell everyone.. But I don't know who did this
pictures thing..

Before Manik could
retort Cabir dragged Manik out of room into another meeting room. He was
followed by Dhruv.

Dhruv : What the
hell Manik.. What the hell was that..

Manik: I don't know
Dhruv, believe mei .. I don't know how we got that intimate. The pictures are
forged.. U know me..

Cabir: I don't know
Manik... "Intimate"... u are practically having sex with her in that
picture.. And ur boss says that u two are married .. Why would she lie.. We are
nobody to her.. We were this close to our revenge.. But u let ur libido do the talking..

Dhruv : Yes Cabir is
right.. They have broken their engagement.. Unless and until they marry we
cannot carry out our plan..what have u done manik.. U have laid waste our years
of hard work..

This hit Manik like
a ton of bricks. Yes, all his hard work has gone to waste.. All his plans of
bringing his own mother and her boyfriend to their knees have gone astray now..
The marriage of Nandini Murthy and Madhyam Singhania would have resulted in the
merger of Murthy Corp and Singhania Inc. He along with his entire group had
planned of creating a financial coup of diverting the funds to their company
the Fab 5.. In turn they would have made public the illegal record books of
Singhania and Murthy Inc. bringing both the companies to their knees and
triggering criminal procedure against everyone. He would have snatched
everything from the man who snatched his mother from him. Then his mother would
have realized that her own son and husband were not worthless piece of shit. He
would not have taken her in even if she begged.

But those fake pics
had seriously derailed his plans... all because of his boss nandini.. He gritted
his teeth.. I will not let you do it Nandini ..

Nandini shifted in
her seat uncomfortably. It looked like everyone was staring at her. She tried
her best to avoid Aliya's gaze where she saw pure hatred and nothing else. She knew that manik and Aliya were in serious relationship.

But she could not undo anything now. Who put those pictures on her laptop.. She would have carried on as if
nothing had happened..

Meanwhile Madhyam
had called her Dad cancelling their marriage way back. Both their parents were
about to reach office now.Her life was in a mess. Just then she noticed Mukti
come towards her and yank the projector off her screen. That actually stopped the
picture slideshow on the big screen. Nadini again tried to stop her tears. Just
then the parents and Manik entered the meeting room together.

Mr Murthy : What
happened Nandini.. How could you.. What type of drama is this.. That too in
front of staff.. Madhyam was telling me that u are married .. And he has proofs

Nandini : Dad listen
to me.. Please give me a chance to explain..

Mr Singhania : Where
is he..where is your so called husband

Nandini stole a
glance at manik.. But saw only anger and hatred.Just then there was an unwanted
entry . The entire room stiffened.

Madhyam : What are
you doing here Nyonika.. This is a family gathering..

Nyonika : I am also
your father's family Maddy.. And moreover I see a lot of office staff present
here.. So I see ur fiance cheated on you with some vague guy.. She even
married him.. Tch tch.. Really sad..😆😆😆

Mr Murthy: that's a
lie.. She cannot get married... I don't see any signs of marriage on her...

Nyonika took a hard
look at Nadini. That girl was really embarrassed. By the look of her face , she knew that that
the marriage news was not fake but Nadini had not expected the news to come out
like this. Nyonika also noticed that Nandini
was stealing glances at one of the office staff. His face looked
familiar to her , she did not know him but he had a look of pure hatred on his
face, hatred directed at her. But as of now she decided to concentrate on the
younger woman.

Nyonika : Hmm.. No
signs.. U don't know where to look Murthy.. U should know where to look...

Saying this she
walked towards Nandini. She removed a chunk of hair which was hiding her
forehead. Now everyone could see a pinch of sindoor in her partition. The she
took her finger inside Nadini's shirt collar and took out managlsutra.

Nyonika: Hmm
interesting... this managlsutra looks familiar.. So for u this marriage is real...

Nandini: Leave it..
Its mine...

The silence in the
room was broken by Aaliya's hiccups. She knew the significance of that
mangalsutra.. Now she had no doubt in her mind that Manik was lying and she let
her eyes accuse him of the same thing.

Manik saw red now.
How did his boss have that mangalsutra.. And why the hell was she wearing it.
He had taken that mangalsutra away from his father when he was leaving for
gurgoan to throw it . Next he did not think about his surroundings. He caught
hold of Nandini's hand and dragged her towards the attached bathroom and pulled
her inside with him.

Nandini : Manik ..
Please listen to me.. Let me explain..please don't be angry..

Manik : how did u
get this .. This mangalsutra.. I had thrown it somewhere .. Where did u get
it..

Nadini caught his
face with both her hands..

Manik please meri
baat suno.. Me wearing this mangalsutra... and the sindoor.. Its all true...I .. I
have to tell u.. I have to tell u alone..

Manik jerked her
away.

Manik : Tell it in
front of everyone then..

When he dragged her
out. Most of the crowd was gone apart from fab 5.

Nandini: Inn sabke
samne...

Manik : Kyu.. Do u
have a problem.. U call urself my wife.. Then y hide..
