Inter College Fest
"Nandani are you sure you want to do it?"Dhruv asked Nandani with concern.
"I want to do it Dhruv. It's my only chance."Nandani replied back to Dhruv while looking at crowd nervously.
"Ok as you say. Just don't be nervous. " Dhruv assured Nandani and kiss her forehead.
"Ok."Nandani told him softly and make her way to the backstage.
"Ok Guys so our next performer is from St.Xavier College. She is going to perform a self composed song. So please welcome Nandani Murthy."Anker announce and there are cheers from St.Xavier college crowd.
Manik look up alarmingly when he heard Nandani name is announced.
All past memory start flashing in front his eyes.
Her innocence, her laugh, her smile, his confession and at last her betrayal.
"That's it Manik you're not going to think about that girl anymore. She doesn't deserve your attention."Manik console himself.
Nandani nervously make her way onto stage. Her eyes are searching the crowd for only his face.
But when she found him she start shaking nervously because he is looking at her with such hatter that she can't stand it. The eye's which look at her compassionately are looking at her with such fierceness that she can't believe that it is the same Manik with whom she fell in love and still loving him now after all how he insult her in front of all.
"Not now Nandani. You have to prove your innocence to him. It's only your one and last chance. Be Strong."Nandani confronted herself and then making eye contact with him start her 1st self written, self composed song about one and only Manik.

Why did she write such a song?

Nandani look at Manik as various emotions cross his face shock, realization and what not.
Nandani continue still looking at Manik trying to put her emotion, her everything in that song.

Manik is also in the same state. Her song lyric told him something. She looked like she is in pain.
But is it true. What he saw and heard is all from Nandani own mouth. So how can be it wrong?
She must be happy and should write some lovey dovey song?

Nandani remember when she goes to Rebel College with Dhruv after placements.
"Dhruv! Hurry up?"Nandani exclaimed loudly and looks around.
"Nandani let me lock up my baby please." Dhruv replied to Nandani as he locks his baby, his Swift.
"Come on let's go and Meet your Mr. Romeo "Dhruv wink at Nandani.
"Don't call him Romeo. They don't have happy ending. And My Manik is not Romeo."Nandani told Dhruv while looking around the college for Manik.
Damn her for not asking Manik in which branch he is doing his engineering.
She is actually calling him from last 3 week .But his phone is coming switch off.
So she has no other option than to come here for Manik. In these last 3 week Dhruv and Nandani come close. After Nandani help Dhruv to propose Alia. Yupp Alia and Dhruv are now official couple in college. Thanks to our Nandani.
"Do you know where I can find Manik Malhotra?"Nandani asked the passerby Student.
That boy looks at Nandani up and down making Nandani squirm in her place.
She came in her college dress to meet Manik. Actually she skips college today to meet Manik because her parents would never allow her to go and meet some boy. They are conservative type.
"Umm you want to meet Manik.He is in cafe right Know."The boy mutters slowly and then he is gone.
"Nandani I'll come in a minute. You go." Dhruv voice brought Nandani back and then nodding at Dhruv, she made her way to cafeteria.

She found Manik sitting on the top of table laughing with his friends. She looks at him longingly as she is seeing him after 3 long weeks. He looks so handsome in his white tee and black polo pants.
She scowls at him suddenly when some girl kisses his cheek. She is in mid thigh red dress.
Its ok Nandani .It's common around here.
She made her way to him slowly.
"Manik "She called him slowly. When he don't turn around she called little loudly "Manik"
Manik turn around to find Nandani in front of him. He looked at her shockingly as she stood in front of him giving him a soft smile.
Nandani heart starts running wild as she sees Manik looking at her. "Can I talk to you?" Nandani asked Manik looking around consciously as she found all Manik friends attention on her.
"Sure. What do you want to talk?"Manik told Nandani boringly as he looked around.
"Here? "Nandani asked him shockingly. Little hurt by his negligent. She thought that he will be so happy to see her.
"Not here, then where Nandani?"Manik asked Nandani arrogantly.

Nandani don't like it at all. He called her Nandani not Kitten like he used to be.
"Ok. I ... I tried to call you but your phone was coming switch off?"Nandani asked Manik timidly not liking where this going on.
Is he angry at me for not reciprocating his feeling on same day? Or Is he embarrass of me that I come in college uniform to meet him.
"Well how your calls can connect when I give you a wrong number."Manik smirk at Nandani and his entire friend laugh on it.
Nandani hurt by Manik statement asked him innocently, "Why would you give me a wrong number?"
"Well duhh. Isn't it's obvious that I don't want to do anything with you after that stupid job fair."Manik told her irritatingly.
"I...I thought we have something. You told me on placement day."Nandani asked him.Hurt.
"Did you believe in my every word Nandani?"Manik asked Nandani mockingly.
When Nandani didn't reply Manik continue, "You know I was never interested in you. You're just not my type. Look at yourself. I prefer that type of girl. Not like yours. "He gesture to the girl in red dress, "You're just a time pass for me .I need something to pass my time in that damn fair and guess what I find you."Manik mocked her.
Manik clench his fist as he saw the tears in Nandani eyes. It's breaking his heart to hurt her, mock her. But he can't let her think that she has upper hand in this.
What he saw on placement day is can't be wrong. He saw it with his own eyes.
"But she looks so vulnerable?" His heart told him.
"Maybe what you saw is not entirely true. Just give her a chance to explain. "His heart continues further trying to coax Manik.
Ya maybe what I saw on that day is wrong. If she doesn't love me, then why would she come to meet me in college? Manik thought.

Manik was just going to react on his instinct but before that he saw Dhruv coming from behind.
"Hey Nandani did you meet your R..." Dhruv stop abruptly as he sees Nandani tear stricken face.
"What happen?" Dhruv asked Nandani as he cupped her face.
He clenched his fist to overcome the sudden rage he felt when he saw Dhruv cupping Nandani face.
"Nothing Dhruv. I want to leave."Nandani told Dhruv and rub her eyes.
Dhruv looked unsure but looking at Nandani teary face he didn't force her,"OK"
Something snaps inside Manik by seeing her walking away with Dhruv.
How fool could he be. Of course she comes here with Dhruv.
Nandani and Dhruv is walking away when Manik voice stop them.
"Thank god Nandani I am not really in you or it would break my heart."Manik taunt Nandani.
Nandani and Dhruv looked at Manik surprised. Not understanding what he is trying to say.
Looking at their surprised face he chuckled, "No need to pretend anymore Nandani. I know that Dhruv is your boyfriend."
Dhruv was about to retort back to Manik when Nandani hand on top of his stop him.
This gesture of her didn't get unnoticed by Manik.
She shook her head at him to let it be.
Dhruv clench his fist as he and Nandani leave cafe premises.
Manik push all the things of the table on floor as he looked at Nandani and Dhruv retiring figure.
"Why? Why did you do this to me Kitten? Why?"Manik mutter to himself and left the caf.
Both Nandani and Manik came out of their trance.
Nandani looked at Manik as he stands there. Suddenly there is anger in his eyes as he looked at her.
Manik jaw clench as he looked at Nandani and then in another second he leave from there never looking back even after hearing her voice saying the same thing that he also want to say to her.
