Chapter 2

Coffee with Nandini😆

Nandini woke with a shocked look on her face as the alarm rang loud into her ears. Along with her senses, the memory of yesterday night's talk with Navya came alive.

7.a.m...abhi tho Cabir aa raha hoga! Pata nahi ke main use pehchaanoongi kaise?' Nandini thought with a perplexed mind as she brushed her teeth. Lamba...chehre pe til...black colour t-shirt, blue colour jeans and brown colour blazer...hmm...aise tho ek hi ladka shayad wahan pe hoga..ya phir bahut saare' Nandini thought as she looked blankly at herself in the mirror.

Nandini rushed through her daily activities in a jiffy and looked at the clock and it was 7.30 already.

Ayyappa...I'm late!' Nandini thought as she wore a red shirt and blue jeans and tied up her hair in a pony tail.

Chachiii' Nandini shouted to Shanno. Chachiii main apne friend se milne jaa rahi hoon..thodi si late ho jaaoongi shayad' Nandini said as she peeped at the kitchen.

Nanduuu..naashta tho karke jaa na'

Nahi Chachiii, apne friend ke saath khaa loongi...'

Arre aaj itni jaldi kyon hai?'

Wo..mere friend ke saath kahin jaane hai..tho main aaj poore din baahar rahoongi. Aaj tho Sunday haina' Nandini said with a smile on her face.

Arre Sunday hai tho tu ghar pe nahi rahegi? Tu kya Navya se milne jaa rahi hai?'

Haan ...main na...thodi si late ho jaaoongi. Chachu kahan hai?'

Tere chachu ke office se aaj subah ko hi call aaye ke kuch kaam baakki hai. Tho wo complete karke dopehar tak aajaayega.'

Achcha chachi...main jaa rahi hoon' Nandini shouted a bit loud as she closed the main door behind her. Nandini picked the car keys and opened her car and switched on the car and swerved it outside onto the street.

Ayyappa...abhi tho sirf 15 minutes hai..aur Sunday ko bhi traffic tho heavy hi hote hai..mujhe 6 baje ke alarm lagaane chahiye the' Nandini thought to herself as she looked out through the window. The traffic was not as heavy as she thought it would be and she reached Mumbai airport faster than she thought.

Nandini parked her car at the parking lot and rushed into the airport and looked around. Navya had texted to her the details of the flight in which Cabir would be coming and also mentioned that Cabir would be first visiting SPACE Academy to clear up some papers there. Nandini ran over to the airport enquiry desk and enquired about the flight.

The flight is 15 minutes late...' the lady at the enquiry said to Nandini. She heaved a sigh of relief thinking that afterall she is not too late. Suddenly Nandini's phone started ringing.

Haan Navya bol!' Nandini mumbled.

Nandu..tu Cabir se mili kya?' Navya asked a bit nervously.😕

Nahi..flight 15 minutes late hai. Tho main yahan airport pe wait kar rahi hoon.'

Kya tujhe pakka sure hai ke Cabir lamba hai aur chehre pe til hai?'

Cabir ne tho bola tha ke lamba hai aur chehre pe ek til hai. Magar jo childhood pic dikhaaye na..usmein koi til mujhe nazar nahi aaye..aur photo bhi utne clear nahi the..magar mera Cabir uss photo main bahut cute hai'

Tho tu aa na...apne cute Cabir se milne' Nandini said a bit naughtily.

Tu mere taang kheech rahi hai? Abhi ghar main sabhi preparation main lage hai unn logon ko receive karne ke liye. Magar mujhe na sirf Cabir ki fikar hai. Main bathroom jaane ka bahaana banaake tujhe call kar rahi hoon'

Tu bathroom main baithi hai?'

Haan wo mere mama maami bhi aaye hai aur bol rahe the ke ladka sarkaari naukri karta hai aur bahut achcha kamaata hai'

Sarkaari naukri? Phir tho teri gayi...tere parents iss groom ko na chodnewale nahi hai' Nandini said with a laugh.

Suddenly there was the announcement heard of the landing of the flight that Navya had text messaged to her.

Navya..wo flight aa gaye...tujhe main thodi der baad call karoongi'

Tu na..zyaada time mat laga call karne main. Tu mujhe call karti rahi aur Cabir kahi chala gaya tho? Tu na..koi bhi bahaana banaake usse fevicol ke tarah chipakte rehna'

Navya..tu mujhe tere boyfriend ke saath chipkaayegi? Kahin Cabir ko mujhse pyaar ho gaya tho?' Navya said in a playful tone.

Nahi karegi tujhse pyaar..mera Cabir mujhse sachcha pyaar karta hai' Navya said with a wide smile on her face. Aur tu dekhna mera Cabir sabse handsome hoga'

Nandini suddenly noticed the passengers walking in and her eyes fell upon him.

Tall...handsome...soft flowing hair, wearing black t-shirt, blue jeans and a brown colour blazer and wearing sunglasses'

Navya I saw him..I'll talk to you later' Nandini said as she cut the call and walked towards him and suddenly noticed a small til just above his upper lip.

Yehi hai Cabir..Ayyappa...Navya ne ekdum sahi kaha..bahut handsome hai' Nandini thought as she walked up to him and looked at him with a smile and said Sir, I have come to receive you'

You?' he asked with a questioning look on his face.

Haan...I'm Nandini Murthy and I am sent by SPACE Academy to receive you'

Oh...but the organizers didn't speak of a Nandini Murthy' he said rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

Sir...actually somebody else was to come and pick you up. Magar unko koi aur kaam aa gaya..isliye main aayi hoon aapko pickup karne...chaliye na..' Nandini said with a smile on her face.

He looked at his watch and then at her.

Ok...chalo...'

Sir..usse pehle...kya hum ek cup coffee pii sakte hai? Aaj aap subah ke flight se aaye..tho maine kuch bhi khaaye aur piye nahi...aapko receive karne direct ghar se bhaagke aayi hoon' Nandini said with a pleading look in her eyes.

Ok...but zyaada time mat lena..I need to go fast' he said in a matter of fact tone.

Sir yahan pe food kahan milenge? Main pehli baar airport aayi hoon..aur mujhe yahan ke baare main kuch nahi pata' Nandini said with a sad pout on her face.

Its ok...we can find the place.' He said as he slung the huge bag over his shoulder and took two suitcases which he brought.

Sir...ismein se ek aap mujhe de deejiye..isko hum pehle car main rakhenge' Nandini said as she took one of the suitcases from him.

No its ok..I can manage' he said trying to take the suitcase from her hand.

No sir...aapko receive karne main aayi hoon..tho aapke help tho karne hi chahiye na mujhe' Nandini said with a little smile on her face.

He looked at Nandini with a little smile on his face and noticed for the first time that she was quite beautiful. Nandini and Manik placed the suitcases inside Nandini's car.

Sir...aapke bag bhi'

No its alright..I'll carry this one..I have my phone and necessary items inside' he said as he continued to hold onto his bag.

Achcha sir..abhi chalke coffee peeye?' Nandini asked very politely.

Haan chalo!' he said with a little smirk.

Nandini didn't know how long this coffee excuse will work. But she really must find a way to make it work. Nandini looked at the watch and it's 8.30 a.m. In front of Nandini...it's many hours lying stretched and a man with her whom she had to hold onto with a chain of lies!

They walked into the cafeteria and sat on the chairs opposite to each other. Nandini looked around her mind thinking of ways to distract him.

'She is acting quite weird...wonder if she is hiding something?'

'Hmm...tho tum Mumbai main hi rehti ho?' he asked suddenly seeing her acting a bit weird.

'H..Haan main Mumbai main rehti hoon..magar main originally Chennai se hoon. My grandma lives there and I'm living with my chacha-chachi' Nandini said a bit nervously.

'Ohk...hmm...tho tumko Malhotra sir ne bheja?' he asked with a questioning look on his face.

'Haan...mujhe Malhotra sir ne bheja hai..'

'Tumne mujhe kaise pehchaana? I mean I didn't have any badge upon me with my name on it.' he said with a little smirk.

'Wo...wo aapke photo dikhaye the Malhotra sir ne' Nandini made up an excuse.

'Did he?' he asked raising his brow with a questioning look on his face.

The waiter appeared next to them and his attention was turned towards the waiter.

'Bhaiyya 2 coffee please' Nandini said suddenly.

'Hmm..maine kab kaha ke main coffee piyoonga..I just came here to keep you company and we must hurry back fast' he said looking at his watch.

'Haan ok..bhaiyya 1 coffee and one plate iddli, sambar and vada for me.' Nandini said without glancing at him.

His eyes widened hearing the list of items. He looked at his watch and then looked at her and asked again..

'Kya tum ye sab khaake hi jaaogi?'

'Sir..wo maine subah se kuch bhi nahi khaaya aur mujhe bahut bhookh lag rahi hai..aur maine na kal raat ko bhi kuch nahi khaaye the..hum khaake chale?' Nandini asked in a pleading tone.

'Y..ya ok...but make it fast! If U take too long, I'll go away on my own' he said in a bit warning tone.

'Haan sir' she said a bit restlessly.

'Ayyappa...I don't know what I will say to him next after eating the iddlis. I cannot eat slow too. He will then run away from here. Hmm..please help me...ke main kuch bhi karke Cabir ko yahan pe rok sakoon'😕
