CHAPTER 2A
I glanced at Manik and a smirk was plastered on his face. I hastily looked back down at my lap.
What could you possibly be smirking about?
"You're so tense." He mentioned.
Yeah. Why the hel wouldn't I be tense?
"I was kidnapped. I'm sure you'd be tense too." I shot back at him.
He smirked at me again.
"I wouldn't really call it kidnapping." He responded, still focusing on driving, but wearing that smug smile.
I could feel my cheeks heating up.
"What!? That is ridiculous." I told him.
"What's ridiculous is the reason I'm kidnapping you in the first place." He mumbled.
"So tell me, what you did to me isn't kidnapping in your book?" I asked, crossing my arms.
He shook his head. "Nope! And like I said, you will understand Nandini..one day at least. Now we have a long drive so I suggest you get your pretty self some sleep" He said.
I didn't know where we were going, and it bothered me a lot. But he was right.
I needed sleep. Badly.
"How can I trust you? I don't know if I can even sleep next to a man who held a gun up to my head when I was fully aware and awake." I said.
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
It looked so soft.
I just wanted to grab it...
And maybe bash his face in the window for kidnapping me.
"Just please, go to sleep. You can trust me. I will not hurt you. I don't do anything to women unless they are fully awake or ask me too. They are always asking..you know." He said in a sexy tone.
Yeah, well why wasn't I asked if it was ok to be kidnapped by you, Manik?
"Good Night." He softly said. I just nodded, leaning my head up against the window.
Maybe it would be better if I slept with one eye open tonight.
When I woke up, we were still in the car and my legs were sore from sitting so long.
I blinked a couple of times, adjusting to the light. I looked out of my window and noticed that we were on an expressway or something. I turned on the radio, hoping there would be news of me missing.
I changed the radio station at least a hundred times and didn't hear anything about me.
Wow. They don't even care.
I felt sick to my stomach and I fidgeted in my seats. Manik's car looked like it cost a fortune and I definitely didn't want to vomit all over the place.
My parents don't even care.
"What?" Manik asked. I looked up at him.
Shit. I must have said that out loud.
"I'm sure they care.." He whispered. It looked like he felt guilty.
Well, you should be guilty. You "kidnapped" me, sir.
I blinked back stinging tears and leaned back on the seat. I tapped his shoulder. He gave me a stern look and it frightened me.
"I have to u-use the bathroom." I said. Manik looked at me and bit his lip, chuckling.
He drove onto a random exit and we pulled up at a gas station. He told me to turn so he could cut the rope that was tied around my wrists.
Then, When we parked by a gas pump, I quickly got out.
"Now, Nandu. If you try and run away, and contact the authorities in any way, I will be forced to kill you. You wouldn't want that, now would you?" He asked me. I felt my palms get clammy and my throat go dry. I shook my head and continued to walk with him.
I entered the gas station with Manik close by my side. I glanced over at him and he did a little hand signal to a man who was dressed in a tuxedo.
I shot Manik a confused look, and he winked back, sending a fuzzy feeling for me to have.
I felt my legs get weak as I noticed the other man licking his lips when he saw me. He didn't do it in a creepy way, but in more of a flirtatious matter.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom..." I whispered to Manik. He nodded and continued talking with the man.
I bit my lip and walked to the bathroom quickly. When I got into the empty bathroom, the first thing I did was look in the mirror. I stared at my long, dark hair and hazel eyes. I looked worn out, tired, and there were bags under my eyes, then I was my face and scrubbed my hands clean when finished.
I fixed up my wavy hair and tied it in a messy ponytail. I was looking better now...maybe a human who was looking like an alien
I walked out of the bathroom as calm as possible.
I hope these guys don't gang-bang me.
I walked over to Manik and stood by him. "Nandu, this is Cabir." Manik said. Cabir held his hand out for me to shake it.
"Woah!nice to meet you.Beautiful." He said.
There is that word again.
It must have meant something good because he said it with a smirk. "So this is the one I've been hearing about!" Cabir said, turning to Manik. He shot him a look and slapped his shoulder.
Hear about me? Do they have their own little club where they stalk people together?
"Be quiet, bas***d." He said. I grew worried and started fidgeting.
Cabir ran his fingers through his brown hair and stared at me.
"Come. Let's go." Manik suggested. We nodded and Cabir held the door open for us.
"Ladies first." He joked. Manik rolled his eyes and got into his car. Cabir got in the passengers seat before I could and gave me an evil smile.
"So, who dropped you off?" Manik asked him.
He sighed and looked at himself in the mirror. "Aryaman." He replied, looking bored as hell. I cleared my throat and they both looked at me through the mirror for a while.
Both of them started to talk among themselves and it was so rapid, I couldn't catch on to any easy words that I could possibly detect. I groaned and they stopped talking.
I raised a brow at them. "What? You stopped because I groaned? Do you do that whenever you're f**king a girl? Just stop when they moan?" I shot at them.
Cabir clenched his jaw and shot a look at Manik. "This one's a big-mouth." He muttered. I crossed my arms and shot them both looks.
"How old are you?" Cabir asked, chewing his peppermint gum. "Why." I said.
He rolled his eyes. "Manik. Do you have your gun?" He asked him. My eyes bugged as Manik handed Cabit his weapon. "Eighteen! I'm eighteen.." I shouted.
Cabir and Manik gave each other smug smiles. "Chicken." Manik teased.
"Chicken? Are you stupid? You pointed a gun at me for God's sake." I said, making him shrug and start the car.
There was silence most of the ride and I tried to focus on happy thoughts and memories, even though I didn't have many of them.
I giggled to myself, remembering the time I went to the zoo with Navya and the gorilla spit on her.
"What is so funny?" Cabir asked, staring at whatever was on his phone.
"This one time, when I went-"
"I don't care." He said, cutting me off.
Maybe I shouldn't talk anymore.

After driving for about an hour more, we finally reached infront of a huge building which looked like an office.
I was really hungry, but I didn't feel like telling Manik
"Here! Stop here!" Cabir shouted at Manik.
It seemed normal for the two to yell and shout at each other.
I placed my hand on my aching stomach and winced.
"Are you pregnant?" Cabir gave me a suspicious look, noticing how I was rubbing my tummy.
"No! I'm not pregnant! I'm just hungry.." I ran my fingers through my hair.
"Good!" He said. I watched Cabir get out of the car and walk up to a group of men. All of them were dressed in black tuxedos.
Yeah guys, that totally isn't suspicious to the citizens in the city.
Just then, fear raced through me.
What is this... gathering?
I tried to remain calm and not jump to conclusions, but I was scared to death. I looked at the mysterious group greeting each other.
"Wh-what's going on?" I asked Manik. He looked at me and smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. You're not going anywhere with them." He said.
I nodded and bit the insides of my cheeks. Just then, Manik rolled the window down and a man peered in. "Are you going to come in or just sit here?" He asked with a charming smile.
"Yeah.We are getting out." Manik said, opening his door and stepping out of the car.
He walked around to my side and opened the door for me. I got out and straightened my clothes up a little. I walked to the other side with Manik and the men were like
wolves. There were about six of them and they all stared at me with their dark, luring eyes.
I blinked away and stared at the ground. "Is this Ashok Murthy's girl?" One of them remarked.
That was my father's name...wait, what the hell is going on here?
I all of a sudden felt my heart shatter into a million pieces and my worries increase. I shifted in my standing position.
"Let's bring her in to discuss all of this." I heard Cabir say, then I felt him tug on my arm.
Where was I?
