"Bolo na..yaar! Are you in love with me?" Kabir asked with a naughty smile on his face.
Navya was speechless after the caress of Kabir. But she suddenly woke up from her daze mode and quickly cleared her throat before saying "Love?? Kya matlab?? Hum love main believe nahi karte! Love na...unn logon ke liye hote hai jinke paas koi kaam nahi hote hai! Hum bahut busy rehte hai!" Navya said looking around.
"Achcha?? Kaunsa kaam??" Kabir asked folding his arms over his chest.
"Kaam...matlab humko studies karne hai! And kal tho classes honge! Arreee...kal tho classes hai!! Abhi time kitna hua??" Navya asked with a sudden shocked look on her face.
"Tiiimeee..." Kabir said as he looked at the watch and suddenly Navya pulled his hand and looked at his wrist watch. "Arrreee abhi time tho 9.30 ho rahe hai!! Hum bahutt late hai. Humko ghar jaane hai!" Navya suddenly shouted.
"Achcha?? But I'm not in a hurry!" Kabir said looking with a cool laid-back attitude at Navya.
"Humko jaana hai tho jaana hai! Humko ghar leke jaao! Tumhaari responsibility hai! Humko laaye hai tho wapas le jaao!" Navya said in a demanding tone
"Tumko kisne roka hai?? Yahan pe thodi der wait karoge tho taxi tho kam se kam idhar se guzrenge...taxi pakadke ghar chali jaana!" Kabir said with a teasing smile.
"Kyaa?? Matlab tum raat idhar guzaaroge?" Navya asked with a shocked expression.
"Haan kuch aisa hi iraada hai! Waise bhi jaldi ghar jaake kya karenge yaar?? Yahan ghada rahoonga tho sunsaan sadak pe kam se kam kisi bhoot se baat kar payenge!" Kabir said widening his eyes.
"B..Bhoot?? Yahan pe bhoot aayenge??" Navya asked with a worried expression on her face.
"Haan bhoot bhi honge aur yahan pe naa badmash logon ki territory hai! Akeli ladki ko dekhenge tho ...bahut saare ideas aayenge unko??" Kabir said in a teasing tone.
"Badmash log humko kyon uthaake le jaayenge? Tum ho na hamare saath?" Navya replied with a confident expression on her face.
"I didn't say that I will protect U! Badmash log uthaake le jaayenge tho hum kuch na bolenge! Waise bhi tum agar idhar behosh bhi hui na..tho idhar hi chodke jaaoonga" Kabir said with a naughty gleam in his eyes
"Idhar hi chodke chale jaaooge? Kitne bedard berehem insaan ho tum!" Navya said with an expression of disbelief.
"Hello??? Madam?? I don't even know your real name or address! Hospital le jaaoonga tho bhi problem hogi! Navya ya Nandini ya koi chameli..ye bhi confirmed nahi hai! Idhar chod jaaoonga tho hi better hai!" Kabir said sitting on his bike.
"Main Nandini hoon!" Navya retorted boldly.
"Yaar phirse jhoot isliye main tumko idhar chodke jaanewaala hoon!" Kabir said starting his bike.
"Thehro thehro mujhe chodke mat jaaoo..mujhe bhi leke jaaoo!" Navya said in a pleading tone.
"Le jaaoonga...magar ek shart par!" Kabir said looking at Navya.
"Kaunsi shart??" Navya asked hesitantly.
"Tell me the truth! I need the complete truth! Confess that U are not Nandini...U are Navya! If U confess I will take U back home and I promise I won't inform Manik also!" Kabir said in an affirmative tone.
Navya was in a fix..if she tells the truth, will it cause problems for Nandini?? Kabir pe trust kar sakti hoon kya??
"Bataao Navya...confess that U are Navya! I know the truth already..but I want to hear it from your mouth. U are not the girl who keeps on saying Ayyappa..and U many times responded positively when I said your name as Navya! Abhi please confess karke ye confusion khatm kar do yaar!" Kabir said lightly hitting his head.
"Ok...main Navya hooon..par please Manik ko kuch mat bataaana..I don't want Nandu to be in trouble!" Navya confessed in a hesitant tone.
"Finallyyy! The cat is out of the bag! Chalo...now its ok! Atleast now I know the name of the girl who will be sitting on the back seat of my bike! Now sit..I'll take U back home!" Kabir said with a little smile on his face.
Navya had a guilty feeling that she lied to Kabir about her name as Nandini and he didn't even complain that she lied to him or shouted at her. Kabir kicked start the bike and felt Navya's tensed fingers grip his shoulder and a smile spread over his face. "This girl..is really interesting.." Kabir thought as he accelerated the bike forward onto the street.
"Ayyappa?? Abhi phirse Ayyappa kyon bol rahi ho? Maine aisa kya kar diya?" Manik asked looking into the eyes of the girl in his arms.
Nandu felt Manik's finger press onto her body as he naughtily looked into her eyes.
"Wo..main" Nandini whispered as she noticed a smile spread across Manik's face.
"Wo...main..kya?? Bolooo Nanduuu.." Manik said with a little smirk on his face.
"Wo main...mere pray karne time hai ye! M..mujhe pray karne hai..mujhe chod do please" Nandini said suddenly feeling a bit uneasy by the intimacy she is having with Manik.
"Pray karne ke time?? Achcha?? Tho mere baahon main pray nahi kar sakti ho?? Prayer tho dilse kii jaati hai..haina Nanduuu?" Manik asked tracing his finger down Nandini's cheek and down her neck as he realized how Nandini was making excuses to make him let go. Nandu suddenly grabbed Manik's finger stopping him.
"Kya hua Nanduuu?" Manik crooned with a little smile on his face.
"Wo..main!! Mujhe pray karne hai!" Nandini once again continued.
"Like seriously??? Abhiii?? Iss towel main pray karogi??" Manik asked letting go of Nandini.
Nandini came to her senses and noticed herself in towel and she felt all the blood rush to her cheeks as she blushed.
"Achcha chalo..pehle kapde change karo uske baad pray karna ok?? Inn kapdon main tumko dekhke Ayyappa bhi darr jaayenge" Manik said with a little smile teasing Nandini.
"Haan change karoongi..but U turn that way!" Nandini suddenly ordered.
"Ya ya sure!" Manik said as he turned away from her. Manik didn't turn to look back though his heart was racing. Nandini quickly changed into the clothes given by Manik in the dark itself. She could see the little mobile flash light lying on the floor but didn't dare to pick it up. After changing into the clothes..Nandini picked up the mobile and tiptoed to Manik.
"Are U done changing or not?? " Manik asked a bit impatiently.
"H..haan Manik...ye lo flashlight" Nandini said as she stretched her hand with the mobile in it..in front of Manik. Manik took the flashlight out of her hand and turned to look at Nandini who was standing her hair still wet and wearing the white shirt and blue jeans. Nandini looked beautiful..truly beautiful. In the darkness she had buttoned up the shirt wrongly..but even that had an innocence in it.
"Manik...what do we do now?? Lights tho chali gayi" Nandini whispered with a worried expression on her face.
"Lights chali gayi...tum mere saath ho...are U feeling scared of me?" Manik asked with a gleam in his eyes.
"No...mujhe tumse darr nahi lagta" Nandini said with a confidence in her voice. Manik was amazed by the confidence in her tone.
"That sounds good to hear Nandu..ok..now what do we do now?? Iss question ke jawaab hum jaake dhoondenge ek saath...follow me! Manik said as he walked out of the door. Nandini followed as they walked down the stairs. There was only the light of the flashlight and Manik was silently walking down the stairs. It was really silent and Nandini felt truly anxious within. Manik walked down to the bottom of the stairs and showed Nandini the light to follow him down to be with him.
"Hmm..next..we got to check the fuse" Manik said as he walked towards the door and unlocked the bolt. Nandini walked and stood right behind him. Manik took a step backward to open the door inwards and hit against Nandini. Nandini suddenly slipped a bit backwards.. "Aaa" Nandini shouted as she fell backwards with her eyes tight shut and only to feel a sudden grip around her waist. She opened her eyes to look into the eyes of Manik. He held her from falling down and his eyes were shining in the glow of the flashlight. "Nandu..U alright?" Manik asked with a concerned look in his eyes.
"Y..Yes..I'm alright" Nandini whispered. Nandini noticed his features even more now. They didn't have an attitude in them..they were not stubborn. His features were softened by a gentle smile in them and his eyes were so filled with love and warmth. Even the grip around her now felt familiar to Nandini. She didn't feel uncomfortable in his arms...its as if she was born to be in them. 😳
Manik pulled Nandini back to make her stand straight.
"Ok chalo..let's go check out the fusebox" Manik said as he walked out of the doorway into the portico. Nandini walked behind him. Manik walked down the two steps and went to the left around the house. Nandini followed him as they walked through the side part of the house. Nandini could see in the flashlight potted plants and the scent of jasmine that are newly bloomed was filling the air. Manik walked upto the fusebox and turned to look at Nandini.
"Nandu..ye pakdo!" Manik said handing over the flashlight to Nandini.
Nandini held the flashlight in her hand and directed it towards the fusebox. Manik's back was turned towards her. Now she noticed Manik's shoulders..his frame and his concentrated attitude with which he was opening and looking at the fuse.
"It's burnt..." Manik whispered looking at the burnt fuse and he got to working on fixing it. He took out a tool box and started working on replacing the fuse. Nandini was not looking at what he was doing. Nandini was looking at him...her eyes were only on him.
"Ayyappa...what is this feeling?? Why is he so handsome?? Why is my heart beating so fast?" Nandini thought as a gentle breeze caressed his hair and she noticed Manik's lips innocently pout as he concentrated more deeply. "He looks so handsome..so innocent..."
Suddenly Nandini felt herself getting closer to him...she lifted her arms and touched gently on Manik's cheek. Manik looked up...a confused gaze in his eyes. He looked into Nandini's eyes and he saw something new...her dreamy eyes were filled with love...it indeed is love.😳
Suddenly Manik felt himself asking "Nandu...kya hua?"
Nandini suddenly snapped out of her dazed mood and found herself touching the cheek of Manik. Nandini pulled her hand away as she took a step backwards embarassed.
"Something on my face?" Manik asked with large innocent eyes looking at Nandini without blinking eyes. Nandini felt her heart once again thumping against her chest as she felt herself disconnecting her gaze from Manik's face and looking away. But Manik continued to look at Nandini and he was waiting...waiting for an answer. 😉
