After past midnight Manik returned to the room not before checking if Ansh was asleep in his room. He came back to see Nandini sound asleep too. He kept his things and looked around.

His life had changed. He had changed and how much ever romantic that may sound he had changed for Nandini. To be with Nandini.Otherwise how often do you see Manik Malhotra smiling, cracking jokes, buying things from the places she liked and being flirty..It was a rare sight but he had done all these things in the past one month.

He looked at her sleeping figure and the silhouette of both of them that was created in the wall. The moonlight was dim and it entered the room exactly showing her face in the dark. He smiled looking at her and moved in to adjust her face as she had put a pillow over her face. He slowly removed the pillow careful enough not to wake her up from the deep slumber.

He stared at her shamelessly without any hesitation and smiled again. This was a shocker if anyone would see him right now because Manik Malhotra never smiled so much. He was not this mushy and cheesy romantic but now he was imagining all sorts of future with Nandini. He seemed to have a realization and sighed thinking how hopeless he was getting day by day.

He then looked at her one last time and said" I am in love with a girl who might never tell me that she loves me too."

Manik slowly closed his eyes content for finally being able to tell their shadows the state of his heart if not the person in real.But well there wasn't just those shadow in the room as Nandini had heard what he said.

She had not slept and just jumped to bed seeing him come back from study room. As she knew Manik's brain worked very quick she had kept the pillow on her face to hide her facade and not to get caught. But she had felt whatever he did. His touch, that stare which mad her so weak even though she had her eyes closed and his last words.

Nandini woke up from her pretence of sleep as realization dawned pon her.She whispered to herself looking at Manik who had turned the other side and probably was asleep by now"Manik loves me."
