Watched the episode today after reading the rave reviews of the one shown yesterday. So watched the two episodes back to back. The episodes were written and executed well but somehow I couldn't connect with the characters. I was watching and appreciating the show as an outsider, one who would give a nod for the efforts put in by the team to keep the boat afloat but to me it did not have the soul Season 1 had. Even Nandu's breakdown did not move me as much as the earlier breakdowns shown in season 1.
I can see a pattern here. CVs are trying to recreate a situation between Maddy and Nandu akin to the one between Manan in season 1. Only difference is here Fab 3 are supporting and not opposing her.
Going by the precap, I have a feeling that Maddy may not harm Rishab but only take him back home although Nandu may think otherwise. She may soften towards Maddy when she realises her mistake much like Nandu.
Coming to today's episode, yes, liked the fact that they are introducing custom made songs for the show. Looks like this is the new creatives touch considering we had new songs even towards the end of season 1 when she was stewarding the show. Did not particularly like the song though.
However, did not like her repeatedly trying the mar the memories of Manan by using their songs for Maddy-Nandu or Arya-Nandu. At least I can understand Maddy singing Manik's song to hurt Nandu but did not understand the need to use the Hosanna tune on Arya and Nandu. Also didn't know what to make of Nandu sending a Chinese lantern to the sky with the help of Arya - a poor recreation of the scene between Manik and Alya. Can there not be fresh scenes without any references to the past, at least in those scenes which do not really require it?
