Chapter 14: Diwali Preparations!

We, I mean all youngsters were looking at the outfits that designers had brought for us. It was Diwali so all were ethnic obviously. I was looking for a lehnga for me. I was in Australia for six years so didn't get any chance to wear something traditional. So, I was very excited. But I was hell confused which will suit me the most. Mom was busy with other elders looking for the jewelleries and Aliya was in her room trying some of the outfits and Navya was outside attending a call. 'I had to do it myself.', I thought disappointedly. Well but there's a saying that a friend in need is a friend indeed. So My Cabiraa came and patted in my shoulder, "Apke chehre pe yeh chinta Ki rekhayein kyu hai Rajkumari Nandani ji.. Ap hme btayie.. Apka Cabiraa do min me Hal nikal lega..", he said dramatically. I hit him on his shoulder, "Idiot! Tujhse kuch nhi hoga.. Tu apne kapde khud choose karle.. Vhi bdi baat hai.."
"Ohh so kapde choose nhi ho rhe madam se.."
I nodded.
I don't know what got into his mind, he move backwards,"Chal me yahan khada hota hun.. Tu ek ek karke apne upar lehnge rakh ke dikha and I will tell you Ki konsa acha hai.."
"Aur tujhe lagta hai Ki me Teri choice pe bharosa krungi.."
"Arey ek baar try toh kar na.."
I obeyed him and start taking outfits and showed him one by one. He kept his phone on his chin. He was thinking really hard. He rejected seven outfits in a row.
"Yaar tujhe toh kuch pasand hi nhi aarha.."
"I want to select the best for you.. Got it? Aur yahan pe kuch bhi acha nhi hai.."
His reply made me remember about Manik. He used to say like this only. I chucked my thoughts and started looking for another lehnga.
Then my eyes feel on a light coloured pink and blue lehnga. I just fell in love by just seeing it. I kept it on me and showed Cabir. After one minute he just smiled and said, "Perfect!" I too smiled at him.
"Tujhe kesa laga yeh?", he asked me.
"Guess what! Mujhe bhi yhi acha laga tha.. I didn't know Ki hum dono Ki choice itni multi hai.."
He laughed and went from there. Like seriously? 'Ise bhi samajhna kayin baar mushkil ho jata hai..', I thought.
Cabir came outside and call Manik.
"Use kesa laga Vo lehnga?", Manik asked as soon as Cabir called him.
"Teri pasand hai.. Use kese acha acha nhi lgega.. Pta hai she was saying Ki mujhe nhi pta tha Cabir Ki hum dono Ki pasand bhi itni milti hai..", Cabir said last line mimicking me.
Manik didn't replied because he was busy smiling so Cabir continued, "Bhai apne dreamland se bahar nikal gya ho toh thank you bhi bolde.."
"Kyu?"
"Abe idiot pta hai kitna mushkil tha us se bachke tujhe pics send karna aur feedback Lena.. Use toh ekbar shak bhi hogya tha..", yes actually Cabir was not keeping his phone on his chin because he was thinking but to click my pics and send it to Manik to take approval of the outfits. And it was Manik was who was constantly rejecting the outfits and he was the one who selected the same lehnga which I have chose for myself.
"Acha baba thank you so much.."
"Acha toh vahan par Diwali Ki kesi tayaariyan chal rhi hai.. Tu kahe toh Nandani se bhi tere kapde choose karwadu..", Cabir said teasing him.
"Cabiiirr...!"
"Acha baba sorry.. Chal me baad me baat krta hun vrna Teri Nandani ko mere upar pura pura shak hojayega.."
"Ok chal bye.."
Cabir cut the call and was about to go inside but bumped into someone.
"Ahh..!", he heard a girl's voice. He looked up and found Navya.
"Navya tum!", he shouted.
"Han hum.. Koi problem?", she said frustratingly as she really got hit hard by him.
"Tumhe mujhse takrane ka itna shauk kyu hai?"
Navya's face turned into a big 'O', "What do you mean to say? Hum tumse Jan buchke takrate hain.."
"Tum bahar kar kya rhi ho.. Phele mujhe yeh btao.."
"Hum toh apni ek friend se baat krne aye the bahar.. Tum kya kar rhe ho yahan?"
"Me Jo marzi kru.. Tumhe kya.."
"Han toh hum bhi toh keh sakte hai Ki tum hamse takrane ke liye yahan khade hue the.."
"Argghhh.. U know what Madhubala mujhe tumse baat hi nhi karni hai..", Cabir came inside saying this.
Navya shouted from behind, "Hume bhi tumse baat krne ka koi shauk nhi hai.." And she came inside.
"Ohh Navya! Itni der lgadi tune Jenny se baat karne me.. Chal ab apne liye kuch pasand karle..", I said to her.
Navya selected a turquoise net Anarkali for herself. It was really beautiful.
"So hogyi shopping teri?", Cabir asked me.
"Ni Cabir.. I was thinking Ki Mukti ke liye bhi kuch lelu.. Vese bhi kal hi Diwali hai.. Usne abhi tak kuch nhi liya hoga.. M damn sure.."
Cabir laughed, "Han Vo toh hai.."
I selected a lehnga for her too which will suit her perfectly.
Aliya has also selected an outfit for herself and now we all went to jewelleries and took jewelleries that will go with our outfits. Madhyam as usual tried to intervene and irritate me but I ignored because I didn't want to spoil my mood. After lot of discussions and time, we all were ready for tomorrow. It was almost dinner time and we all were tired so we did dinner and get back to our rooms because we needed energy for the Diwali 2015!

Mom was sitting in the hall with a lady telling her about the gifts and decorations she has to bring. One more lady came in the hall.
"Good evening Mrs. Malhotra."
"Good evening Lisa. Come. Sit."
"Ma'am.. See.. I have brought these pamphlets.. Ap outfits select karlijiye.. Me kal subah hi deliver karwadungi.."
Then only me and Dhruv came downstairs.
"Arrey aagye tum log.. Me tum logon ko hi bulwane wali thi.. Yeh Lisa hai designer.. Is pamphlet me kuch outfits hai.. Tumlog pasand krlo apne liye.."
"Sure mom", Dhruv said.
"Dhruv tu dekhle.. Mera abhi mood nhi hai..", I was going outside by saying this but Dhruv forcefully made me sit with him.
He was going through the pamphlet and was showing me too. I was looking at it uninterestingly. But suddenly I saw a sherwani which was perfectly matching with Nandani's lehnga which I just chose for her with the help of Cabir.
"This one!", I told Mom and went outside. Dhruv was confused but I could feel Mom's smile.
