No...Nandini ...he is not your Manik, not our monster either!! Remember, the guy we hated...at the start of this saga...he was the most hated and despised and feared character...and how you fell in love with him, slowly, steadily...irrevocably!! With the hero behind the monster...the best friend that anyone can hope for...the best lover that anyone can wish for...Our Manik Malhotra!!
This guy that rests dejected in your lap, the broken mess...the shattered, hopeless, defeated man resting his fatigue and exhaustion away...is not Manik!! He just can't be!! He cannot be the one that the world feared, or the one that gave a new lease of life to four other people!! Neither can he be your hero, Nandini's world, Fab 5's backbone...The one slumbering away his pain...you see...he is incomplete!! He is not whole...he is missing a few pieces...like a heart and a soul may be!! Coz Manik without his Cabbie and Mukti and Aliya and Buddy...is nothing...simply nothing!! If his friends are not his life...he simply cannot exist. He has given them all, made them his all. He breathes through them, lives through them...They were his be all and they will be his end all...He needs his Cabbie to joke around, to pull his leg, to banter to tease...and he needs his buddy to protect, to suffocate, to cherish and guard...he needs his Aliya to keep him steady, to make him feel that he is the hero and he is the center of Fab 5's universe and he needs his Mukti too..to act wild and pull out of scrapes and rescue from suicidal missions...to be bold and beautiful...he needs them all...with even one missing...Manik can never be whole again!! They are not friends...they are pieces of his being, pillars of his life, foundations of his very existence!!With them gone...Manik will be gone forever too!! He will still be around, but just be a former shell of himself, empty and hollow from the inside. COz when he loves or belongs, he does it with all his heart...forever...hamesha...be it any relationship!! Cabir knows that...Mukti knows that...and Nandini...now you know that too!! If any one of them leaves...they take a part of your precious Manik with them!! Your Manik ...your strength...your biggest support...is breaking apart.And now that you know him, you know that he will be incomplete, unable to live, equally dead without you too!! You see he said it right when he said that he protects them, but you protect him!! Without you he will die and without them he cannot live...Its so simple..right??? The man in your lap will never be the same again, just a shadow of his former self...Cabir...Mukti...sigh!! Today after ages we see Cabir crashing...losing hope...finally he too accepting defeat..!! Heart wrenching is their pain...not for themselves...but for the man who they know will break into a zillion pieces, never to be pieced together again!! TIt's unbearable to see him suffer...they can'd do it and neither can we!! The Manik Malhotra...we love..is a fighter, a survivor, a winner!! Today...they know Manik is slowly dying...the life draining out of him!! His music is finally falling silent...leaving a vacuum that no one can fill!! Manik is gradually fading...and with him the hues of this story bleach out too!! He was the chain that bound them together...the steel that held them tight...and today...he is disintegrating..piece by piece...while Nandini, picks up the pieces...and Cabir and Mukti watch on...helplessly!! As she valiantly tries to patch up her man and fails frustratingly at every step!! What a price Manik pays for loving dearly...A hero cannot flourish if there is no one to protect or rescue...a commander in chief cannot war without his army, ...or should I simply say...a human perishes without a heart...a life barren without a soul...Ironic...he gave them life...and they will be the death of him!!NO...he is not the Manik, we know and loved...not Nandini's Monster and not Cabir's Man-Ek Baba, and neither the world's famed and feared, Manik Malhotra, the man behind Fab 5...he cannot be!!
Attachment is your biggest strength and your biggest weakness. Though it gives you the power to love someone more than yourself, it becomes difficult to live when you lose something you are attached to.But that man who has known the immense unhappiness of losing a friend, by what name do we call him?
