Since I got such amazing response for the update I thought without killing you all I should post a new update so here it is...

Manik & Nandini - Stars & Fireflies 65

You can hide from truth but you can't escape from it.. There comes a point in time when it hits and hits you where it hurts most..And it is at these times when you accept and embrace it you find yourself in a new light.. Today Manik was going to face the truth that will change him and the course of his life forever..

As DJ, Cabir and Dhruv walked out to look for Nandini, Manik went numb.. He felt cold, his knees went weak and there was darkness in front of him and a fear engulfed him.. He has never experienced this fear ever in life.. He sat on the couch not knowing what to do.. Just as Manik was lost Aliya's harsh words broke his thoughts "Another drama by that behnji.. how much attention she wants..first Manik and now Abhi?" Alya was not stooping and finally Manik had enough "Stop it Alya.." He shouted and his voice had a strange anger mixed with fear... "One more word against Nandini and I will forget everything you mean to me.." "Oh really Manik..." Alya smiled.. "Yes Nandini is not like that.. so just shut and let me clear one thing to you.. You and I are done Alya long back.." Manik declared ...

"Thanks Manik.." Alya said leaving Manik and Mukti shocked.. "I needed you to tell me Manik..I need a start over and I can't do it with you.. " Manik looked shocked.. "Manik I knew you never loved me and I always choose to ignore it.. But Nandini she showed me the mirror and trust me I hold nothing against her.." Alya continued.. "Manik I deserve to be with someone who loves madly like the way you love Nandini and yes Manik you love her so stop fighting and denying it.." Alya walked off leaving a baffled Manik...

Manik was still standing in his room all alone and only words echoed in his head was 'You betrayed me Manik, you broke my love...You love her Manik so stop fighting and denying it.." But the sentence that scared Manik and stooped his heart were his own words "Even if you die it doesn't matter to me.." Manik found himself sweating "I cursed her to die.. No she can't and nothing will happen to her I won't let anything happen.." and he ran out..

Soon Manik found himself in the police station where DJ and rest all were lodging a complaint.. The inspector was arguing that he can't lodge complaint as he has to wait for 24 hours.. Manik had enough of his drama and he came shouting "What the hell? Why can't you lodge a complaint now? Don't you know she's missing.." Inspector got angry and said "Hey don't you raise your voice.. How do you know she's not run away.." Manik's patience levels went bust.. He was ready to attack the inspector when Dj recieved a call from Abhi..

"DJ Nandini is in hospital..." Abhi said from the other side.. "What?" DJ was too shocked... Manik took the phone "hello.." Abhi sighed and said "Manik I received a call from Nandini's mobile saying she met an accident and she is in Leelavati Hospital.." Manik didn't listen what Abhi was saying he dropped the phone and ran.. Everyone was shocked and Cabir again picked up the phone and soon everyone started for Leelavati Hospital...

Manik was driving the car at break neck speed.. He was not himself.. "Even if you die I don't care.." These words were echoing in his head and ever time he remembered those words it was him who died.. He wanted to see her and make sure she was ok.. He couldn't breath or think.. He didn't knew how fast and in what way he drove but he found himself in hospital in few minutes.. He ran to the inquiry desk but as soon as he entred the hospital its smell and the grime faces overpowered him.. There were happy faces og getting their loved ones back but what scared him were the sad ones which reflected the never ending void of loosing their loved ones forever..

Manik stood there unable to speak.. He wanted to say her name..Ask for her but words failed him all that was there a lump in his throat, a pit in his stomach and tears that wanted to come out and a fear that didn't wanted to hear what will be said once he would say her name.. The nurse kept asking, the queue was increasing, the people were getting irritated but Manik was like a statue... Suddenly a familiar voice brought him back it was Abhi.."Manik..Manik.." He held Manik's shoulder and pulled him out of the line.. Manik looked at Abhi and hugged him.. Not because Abhi helped him trace Nandini but because Manik needed it.. Needed it to know that all will be fine and this is a bad dream...

Abhi broke the hug and took Manik to outside CCU room where Nandini was being treated.. Just then a doctor came out and Abhi asked him about Nandini.. "Look she is not fine..She lost a lot of blood and had got severe head injuries and few broken ribs.. He BP is also very low.. We are waiting for it to stabalize and then we shall perform surgery and all we can do is pray for her.."

Manik looked at Nandini though the glass and there she was his small, fragile, little angel was lying on a bed half dead, all bandaged and drips and machines being poked in her body all around.. Manik froze there at the sight.. He died every bit she suffered..every scar on her body left a mark today on Manik Malhotra's heart...Every breath she struggled to take; took a breath away from him and every bit of pain she suffered had a dagger pierced in his body.. If she lay there half dead unconscious Manik stood on the other end half dead but awake..

Soon Dj and everyone else walked in and Abhi briefed them about Nandini.. As soon as chachi heard this she fainted and chacha and few nurses took her to ER.. Dj asked Manik but Manik how could he hear anything.. Finally she had to shake him up and as aoon as Manik saw her he broke down... The world has seen every avatar of Manik Malhotra a boy who is always angry, rude, manner less, bratty, flirty, a friend but today they saw a Manik they didn't knew could exist.. Today they saw a defeated lover who feared of loosing; loosing everything that mattered to him...

"I did this to her.. I brought her down here.." Manik cursed himself as he cried.. "DJ I did this to her.. I brought her to here.." He just kept repeating these words ... DJ made him sit.."Manik get a hold of yourself.." "My stranger..My star... One person..the only person who loved me without me asking and look where I got her into an eternal black hole.." Manik was crying like a baby and evveryone who knew him could tell these tears were not fake.. Manik Malhotra stood broken today..

DJ wiped his tears and said "Manik.." she knew her grandson.. "No DJ I should be punished why is she.." Manik asked.. DJ said "This is your punishment Manik to see her go through hell..." "I can't loose her DJ.. I can't live without her DJ..." Manik's tears were accompanied by hiccups too... "Why manik?" DJ asked her.. If it would have been some other time an arrogant bratty Manik would have denied it but today a broken shattered Manik was not scared to admit it "because I lover her DJ..Because I lover her.."

And there it was Manik Malhotra finally opened his heart and soul to love and let it in his life... Love is just not the beautiful notion about romantic dates and candle light dinners; love is more about our faith when times are tough and road ahead is uncertain but still risking everything for that one person is all we can think off...
