Exactly! As much as Malhotra's transition journey was portrayed in a rather substantial way, when you actually think about it there wasn't much to portray at the end of the day in terms of details. Most the time his anger or his impulsiveness covered up for him and it continues to do so. If they ever get stuck mid-way a plot they just show him erupting and then either Nandini or Nyo takes it forward from there.
Nandini's character had a variety of shades however and so much potential but the only disappointment here be that her character wasn't treated with the due respect which it deserved. They had nothing on paper. Other than that, as a character on the show, she is probably the most realistic and connectable soul. She's someone who we would want as a friend beside us, someone who we would like to idolize at the end of the day but we've seen her flaws and weaknesses too which makes her more believable.
It's just when they play around with her capabilities or add a scene or two which are so un-nandini like, the fandom gets irritated.
And again...we're at a stage where Malhotra's wrath/annoyance seems to be taking the story forward now instead of the rational potential Nandini's character possessed. It's just how it is at the end of the day I guess.
