Chapter 15
Sunday was one day that Manik reserved for himself. He partied almost everyday or correct would be every night but on Sundays he preferred to stay at home giving time to himself or go to Cabir's place and chill out , play PS (play stations) or watched sports whether be it cricket , football or any other sport . Cabir was the only person in this city Manik could rely and count on and spent his time with , as both were best friends from past 10 years. They were fortunate enough to get placed in the same company but didn't shared flat as their family used to visit them on and off. As his Sunday routine Manik was lazy enough to go on with his daily works. As already he was disturbed by the nightmare , he was not finding anything worth entertaining. He somehow got through his morning tasks and got ready to go to Cabir's place as for first he had to get his car and second he did not wanted to stay alone. . . Far around 8 kms , at Nandini's place , she was all busy doing her morning tasks which included a good half an hour prayer as she does not gets time everyday to say long prayers and Radha busy in other works ( radha ; her maid who is a young girl just started to go to college but also does household works for Nandini as she considers Nandini as her guardian angel and Nandini to considers her as younger sister ) smiling at her seeing how cutely she murmured something with her eyes shut and hands joint. After a good breakfast , Nandini left her place and after around 35 minutes she was outside the nursing home. "Hii ..!! Dr. Verma..??" Nandini enquired from the reception. "Appointment.?" Asked the receptionist. "Nahi appointment nahi hai but aap unhe Bol digiye that Nandini is here , I will wait till she gets free." Nandini replied. Receptionist nodded her head and dialled the extension and after few seconds of call she again turned towards Nandini and informed her what the doctor said , "She is with patient and after that there is one more patient , Dr. Verma said ki wo aapse free ho kar hi Milna chahti hain." . Nandini smiled at the receptionist and said thank you after which she went to the waiting area for her turn. . . It was around 12 noon when Cabir's sleep was disturbed by the continuous ringing of the door bell and some bangs on the door in between the bells. "What the hell" ..!! He said irritatingly and slowly got up from the bed to open the door still keeping his eyes shut. He just somehow managed to open the door and without looking went back and landed on the couch. Manik who was already standing there outside his door from past half an hour was already irritated and Cabir made him more. Manik walked in and after locking the door took out a chilled water bottle from the refrigerator and poured it whole on Cabir. "What the ...!!!" He woke up with a jerk and was about to abbuse when he saw Manik standing there and then he just controlled his tongue. . . "Manik what is wrong with you..?? Aise koi kisi ko uthata hai Kya..?" Cabir asked him wiping his face. "Kisi ka to pata nahi tu aise hi uthta hai that I know.. Main pichle aadhe ghante se door bell ring kar raha hoon , knock kar raha hoon , call kar raha but no response. And when you open you don't even bother to see who it is." Saying this Manik threw himself on the bean bag. "Wo I thought maid hogi so ... Anyways leave that tu itni Subah ..?? What's wrong..?" Cabir asked him yawning and stretching his hands in air. "Really Cabir ..??? Subah..?? It's noon..!!" Saying this he threw a small table clock kept there on Cabir which he luckily grabbed. "Watch out yaar..?? Wanna kill me..??" Cabir said keeping aside the clock and Manik just ignored his statement and rested his head back on bean bag closing his eyes. Cabir noticed this behaviour of his and sensed something is bothering him. "Manik ." He called out softly and Manik looked at him and with eyes asked what. "What's bothering you Manik...? Kya hua.?? Itna pareshaan kyun hai..?" Cabir asked him. This was not new for him. He knew that Cabir knew him very well but Manik didn't said anything and just once looked at Cabir and then turned his face aside looking out of the window. Cabir understood what was bothering him. He too got worried initially but then stood up and went towards him and pulled him up with all his strength. The two hugged each other. Cabir patted his back and Manik from few seconds just rested his head there and closed his eye. This was a thing which Manik was needing terribly at that time. "Don't worry..!! Hum sab hain na.. Relax ..!!" Cabir said patting his back and they broke the hug. Cabir noticed the moisture in Manik's eyes but didn't said anything. Cabir was too on the verge of crying but he just somehow composed himself and in a cheerful sound said "aacha chal tere is dukhi se chehre par main kuch khushi Lekar aata hoon." Manik too composed himself and asked him what. "Guess who's back..??" Cabir said in a very enthusiastic tone spreading his hands as if he knew Manik knows the answer. But Manik was all clueless. He frowned his head and thought for few seconds but couldn't get the answer. He looked at Cabir and he in return gave him "dude-you -know-the-answer-man" look...!! But when Manik still couldn't get it , Cabir shouted "arre idiot ... DHRUVVV..!!! Dhruv is back..." And those words were enough for Manik to regain his lost smile. His face glowed up like 400 wt bulb and smiled from moon and back. "Really ...!!! Buddy is back...!! " Manik was all excited hearing his buddy ; his childhood friend Dhurv returning back to India after 5 long years. This news was enough for Manik to forget his nightmare. Cabir noticed his excitement and changed expressions and silently thanked god for it. Cabir knew that it was not just a nightmare but a deepest wound which was on his soul that was still not healed after soo long . Manik was deeply affected from it and it was something no one had the courage to talk about. |
