Chapter 10
"I know Cabir, I know of him but I don't know him personally. When your mother was introducing us to the noble people, one of them pointed you put and you were standing next to Cabir. Naturally I was curious and asked the noblman who that guy was. He told me that it was Cabir, your very good friend." I lied and the look on his face told me he believed me but I can't be so sure. He can mask his feelings quite well.
"The noble man lied, Cabir isn't my good friend he is my best friend. A person who I can die and kill for." Manik explained.
"Hello, now let me intoduce myself. It's Cabir Dhawan. Lord Cabir Dhawan. Manik here has told me a lot about you. All good of course." He assured me.
"Of course he would, there really isn't anything bad about me, is there Prince Manik?" I asked in hope of turning this weird situation in a lighter one.
"How can I vouch for that? I am afterall a Prince and a Prince never lies. I don't know enough of you to say that, now do I. Ma chrie, you yourself did not want to reveal yourself, am I right?" Manik countered.
"Prince Manik, can't I expect my future husband to understand me, without explaining everything to him?" I retorted back at him.
"You know, answering a question with another question is quite..."
Manik couldn't complete his words, as he was interrupted by Aryamaan.
"Hey there are other people who want the chance to talk to Princess Nandini, so Princess, while I have seen you, you haven't noticed me yet. It seems like whenever Manik is around you forget everyone, the same goes for him as well. In a perfect world for the two of you, it would consist only the two of you, without us bothersome people, who keep interrupting you. However, we don't live in a perfect world, so you have to bear us. Let me introduce myself to you again. Aryamaan, Manik's elder brother and the King's basta*** son. My mother, you might have or not met her Humaira, the King's Mistress. Pleased to meet you again." Aryamaan said.
Wow, both mother and son are quite blunt it seems, well it's a good change from the fakeness.
"I talked to your mother a few minutes ago. I must say both of you are quite frank, which is a good quality."
"Beautiful and observant, I must say brother, you have finally met your match brother."
"Enough talking, us ladies want to dance. Nandini, you know that we can't dance yet so you have to take us to the dance floor." Mukti said impatiently.
"Be careful while dancing, it could be painfull." Manik informed the ladies.
"You are right Prince Manik, let us take our shoes off and this way we can be able to freely dance."
All of us ladies took our shoes off and went to the floor and danced freely, there were a lot of people who were suprised by it.
After the group dance everyone was exhausted. Thankfully drinks were ready and each of us were served one.
"This drink was refreshing." Mukti said and I couldn't agree more although the drink had a unique taste.
After a while all of us went to our bed chambers. I felt really sleepy, must be from the whole dancing.
After one hour
"Ahhh, get off me." I screamed while pushing a masked man of myself.
My screams were heard and guards immeadiatelly came and removed the mask of the attacker.
I was feeling scared and I felt like shit. However I refuse to lay in this bed anymore.
The King and Queen came rushing.
"Are you ok? Did you? Were you...? No child let us go to my bed chambers." The Queen said.
The King was shouting at the guards but I couldn't hear a word he said. They were dealing with my attacker but I couldn't find the strength to look at him.
I wordlessly followed the Queen to her room.
"Here my dear child, drink this. It's water. Take a seat."
"I have a terrible headeache. I can't, I can't understand why someone would attack me. I am so sick of this place, I want to leave." I shouted angrily.
"Dear, I know you are feeling horrible but I have to know, were you raped? How far did he go? You have to answer me, it's important to know whether you are damaged or not. If words get out you will loose your crown and of course you won't marry my son Manik. So I need to know if you are still pure." The Queen asked looking straight into my eyes.
I had never felt so violent but this woman makes me want to punch and kick her. I just faced an attack and all she is worried whether I am pure or not. Disgusting, her state of mind is disgusting. A raped woman is not unpure, the attacker is. A woman shouldn't be judged on her purity. If I had to pick the unpure woman here, I would tell her it's her, her thoughts are unpure. But I can't say that now, can I?
"No, he didn't succeed. I woke up before something could have happened." I replied.
There was a knock on the door and two guards came in and they informed us about how the attacker could get in.
"Your majesty, the guards who were supposed to keep the Princess safe, are dead. They were poisoned."
"Dear, please rest here. I will come back in a moment. Take me to the King." The Queen ordered.
Everyone left and I was alone. This headache is so strong, but I can't close my eyes. I don't want to see him. I felt tears coming down. I hate crying, it's a sing of weakness and I refuse to be weak. All of a sudden, I saw a light.
"Nandini, Nandini, it's me Celeste. I have come to tell you something, you have to listen to what I have to say. You were given a drink, remember the waiter, he gave you a drink, this drink was supposed to make you sleep."

Let me be very honest, this chapter was written last week and I was thinking of not writing anymore because people don't bother to review. To those who Review, I want to say a big thank you and this update is dedicated to you guys. However, my exams are coming in September and I have to study a lot for that. Reviews motivate me so it is up to you guys if you want an update than review. My exams are always my priority and if I see that the demand for the next chapter is high, I will write.
On thing, there won't be anyone coming from the future, it's only Nandini who came from there.
Manik is grey, that means he isn't evil nor is he enitrely good. I am a fan of grey characters as they seem more real to me. Besides I love the development of a character, which I want to do with Manik.
