Thank u.. genie, white_beauty😊
When you speak about character growth, u cant see it when the character is white.. it has to be destruction of the character and that s why i dont want manik to become pure white till the end. Nandini's growth would be falling and rising.. As manik learnt patience, love, being positive from Nandini.. Nandini needs to learn from Manik.
Nandini's falling part started from getting manipulated by Nyonika, and the whole Pandit track was all about her loosing self-confidence bit by bit and faith in good. Even mukti's track showed her some harsh realities, but she dint face the reality and ignored it, held on to her belief of perfect world and concentrated on getting manik back(perfect distraction). Now that reality has hit hard,, she s not able to hide it behind smile and still trying to numb it. She knows the reality and trying to escape.
Now rising part should start.. She accepting the grey world, learning to sustain the manipulation, being able to recognize bad should be the growth.. It should start from her opening up and sharing leaving savior complex behind. It is only then learning from the mistakes would make perfect sense as they have shown her as imperfect now. She needs it to survive in Manik's dark world.. Neither Black nor White.. Perfect mixture of grey should be them, and their world. I hope they show something similar in the show..
^^^This!!
It is a difficult process - the whole deconstruction of a "white" character, like you said Nandini was pretty much used as a barometer , the "shining star" for good 100 odd episodes for Manik and fab5. Since the moment she started reacting more humanly - probably from the time of Soha when someone tried to blackmail her- that is when her whole fall began for audience because they started compering her confusion with her confidence from before. Slowly she started accepting the greyness(Nyo) and now she is expressing the darkness. The more she started understanding Manik, I feel her "whiteness" started fading away. Her acceptance of his flaws , started her churning process. Personally I like her flawed self, i hated the shining star reference because it unnecessarily put her on a pedestal and added pressure on her shoulders. So I like that ML is actually watching her fall down, gives him a chance to step up and her to be more humane.
Nah I don't want them to be white now, in a way I have to applaud the writers for thinking this for Nandini- but they need to execute it well. This week mistake should not be repeated . She is a flawed character and the inspiring part would be how she evolves her defense mechanism to live with darkness too. Her rise should be inspiring . But they need to handle it well. This is very subjective thing and it would need solid writing to sell every reaction of hers.
Couple of good outbursts should start the rise.
It;s just the whole process is very polarizing - you would either love it or hate it. Unlike Manik, a grey character , who would be loved regardless . Like Manik said, love is constant for them, it's about adjusting to the new them.
Actually not many shows , desi specially go this road , if KY2 is moving towards it then they should be careful with it and not let editing troubles mess with it.
Keep Posting here!! They stalk, we love. 😳
