college
Soon enough , both entered the college .
Nandini had taken up her passion of writing and studied literature , for like her monster put it
" when she wrote , her each word like a magical potion clung to another to create thundering spells ",
But , Manik studied commerce , hoping to soon take on his father's business .
Their courses were different , they had friends in their classes , but still nothing changed .
They still talked about everything, all the time under the sun .
Not soon enough, after loads of fights , innumerable number of times emotional blackmails to each other , thousands of special moments tucked away in the corners of the college , late night coffees , a gazillion phone calls and texts
There courses almost came to an end .
It hadn't been an easy journey for Nandini , she had her share of stresses and doubts . she had always been living in a shell , not opening up with fears , fears built in her since long .
but Manik as always , was there for her , hearing her each and every debate script that she changed a million times without even one complain to making sure he stood in the audience and gave her all the hope and the world's luck in every competition she participated .
Very stealthily indeed he had captured her heart .

Infact not long back , when she had lost a competition and had gotten sad
A kind of sad that , manik felt she would go back her earlier self
So , He had started writing chits for her and keeping in her room for a month .
Till date he remembered the first one , even though he berated that his writing wasn't even close to hers

And for manik too , it wasn't any different
He too had his fears , his share of struggle .
Manik was the second son of "the Malhotra's " , even after being the youngest , his father never saw him capable to being a businessman .
He always said " Manik , that guitar of yours won't get you anywhere , it's the books that will "
Not that Manik was bad at studies , but just for his brother was brilliant in them .
Every other day , whenever he had altercations with his dad , or everytime when his brother showed him down at the lavish parties with his harsh words .
He would rush home , lock up himself into his room and switch off his phone .
And that was it , and Nandini would know .
She would slowly unlock the door with the duplicate key and go and just sit near him in his pitch dark room .
She wouldnt say a word , just slowly ruffle his hair and in a just a few moments he would lay his head on her lap and she wouldn't stop caressing his forehead until he would open up .
And soon enough he would be healed .
It was rather beautiful ,
The way she put his insecurities to sleep.
The way she dove into his eyes,
starved all his fears.
And then tasted all the dreams that
he had kept coiled beneath the bones.
it was just beautiful .

Last day of college
" manik , are you sure I' m looking fine ?" she asked him , looking at herself for the millionth time in the mirror .
She was in a beautiful white lace gown , fitted perfectly to highlight her slim , petite form , her hair in a half up crown updo with her curly tresses falling on the sides of her shoulder and the a beautiful floral tiara on her head and her ears studded with simple , small floral earrings .
She looked like an angel walked down from heaven
"Breathtakingly beautiful " Manik sighed to himself when he saw her .
He then slowly helped with her gown and they both made their way into the early evening party that was hosted for their farewell .
That day wasn't another day , for the first time they had realized the spark betwixt them when they were announced " the best couple of the evening ".
Something that Nandini hadn't expected in her dreams !

reality
Nandini was soon an intern and Manik was in his training period .
It was Just a few days after their farewell and the reality of life hadn't yet sunk into the two .
" Nandini , I m going to Bangalore for a month " he said in an extremely low voice for he knew it wasn't as easy as he had said it .
" what ?" she said in an absolutely astonished voice
After loads of talking and complaining he packed to leave the very next day
That night , Nandini couldn't sleep
She knew the reason
.It was him.
He slowly kissed her forehead and hugged her once again before leaving . When suddenly ,
she pulled him and hugged him and whispered
" Don't forget me "
And all he could think of was could he ever do that ?
She had asked
as if the coast could forget the shore ,
or lung could forget to breathe,
or the earth could forget the sun,
thinking , that he kissed her cheek and strode inside leaving
a girl with half a heart behind .
ohk , firstly i m absoultely sorry for the delay and yes ! it is a threeshot soo the main part is yet to come .
also this is an alternate universe hence their character development are different .
