Hi guys...
I know you all are diasapointed by me for updating small update last time...
Actually I updated half of what I wanted to update in that chapter... I wrote it in great hurry...
I was damn guilty about it... So I decided to give you update today itself and longer one too...
Hope you like it ...
CHAPTER- NO PROMISES
Manik was driving back home with nandini besides him practically doing dissection of his music play with utmost curiosity with her tongue stick outside.
Manik didn't stop her because he can bear disordered music player but can't bear him being suffering from mental disorder because of the clumzy seductress beside him.
Suddenly nandini starts screaming and hearing her out of fear instantly , manik too screams facing her.
"What happened!" Manik asked worriedly.
"Manik! I want chocolate right now" said nandini with cutest pout with a puppy face.
Manik angry knew no levels.
"Have you gone nuts!!! Is that a way to shout for mery chocolate. Can't you ever use your almost nonexisting brain"
"Manik, chocolate" said nandini with a puppy face.
Manik turned his head around as if he has got used to her clumsiness within Span of 3 hours. Manik walked put of the car and went to near by shop yo fetch something for her as eating chocolate will shoot up the effect of alcohol in her body whi
Which he definitely can't afford handling even more crazier and bolder nandini.
He came back and was shocked to find nandini missing. His heart stopped piping for a moment, he got worried and looked around for her finding her jumping under a tree as if trying to pluck something.
"Can't you ever show me a single trait of you being a human. Always jumping and hanging around like monkeys."
Nandini's lips curled into perfect o shape with wide eyes hearing manik's sarcastic taunt.
"May I know what the hell you are trying too do?" Said manik in a civil tone.
"How rude! Her I was putting my life in risk for you and instead of appreciating you are getting mad at me" said nandini in anger
"For me?? What is it"
"Actually as we are flying slowly I found this star which is manan for me..." Said nandini animatedly." "MA for MAnik and NAN for NANdini" said nandini putting one finger on maniks chest and other hand on her.
"And now I am no more your favourite star so I wanted to give you
To have my manan star. So was trying to hold it and give it to you but you disturbed me" said nandini in annoyence.

Manik was numb at that time as each word was being absorbed by his brain and havoc was created in his heart and shivers went to the spine. He couldn't believe want he just heard Nandini missed them as in manik and nandini.
Manik was lost in his thought trying to figure out what he heard he heard a loud cry which bought him back to reality.

"Manik see!!! My manan is going away... Manik our manan is going away... Manik please stop it manik!!! I beg you... Manik our hope manik...bring it back to me manik please manik!!!!" Nandini cried badly jerking him but manik was too numb to react. As he felt loss of warmth from his bicep he found nandini sitting on ground and asking me to hold manan star.
I don't want to run away, I want to stay forever, through time and time.

Manik bent down and hold her by her shoulder and pulled her up to face him.
"Shh nandini... Manan star is going no where... It can't go anywhere it is our hope... It is us...
Baby it is meant to always shine for us... Its not going anywhere... We will not let our manan star to go anywhere right" said manik cupping nandini's face in his sting yet gentle hands.

He tilted his head ad kissed her tears away while nandini closed her eyes. And then joined their head fords.
Nandini jerked her head up towards manik.
"My chocolate"asked nandini.
Manik sighed and put his hand in his pocket and forwarded his hand.
"MANIK... Its so beautiful...the yellow colour and the round shapes makes it look even more delicious... I have never had such a chocolate..." Nandini took it from manik's hand and twirled it in her finger.
Manik bit his lips to stop himself for laughing as at that point of time he was not able to find if her stupidity or her cutness and innocence is reason behind his laugh as he saw nandini twirling lemon thinking it as a chocolate.
"Manik its all broken"said nandini accusingly.
"No... Just have it... Its a unique chocolate..." Manik said keeping
His face straight.
Nandini was about to bit it when horrified manik stopped her.
"Wait ... I will help u" said manik taking lime out of her hand.
" open your mouth" said manik and nandini did it obediently.
Manik squeezed the lime in her mouth. And nandini made ridiculous face as the taste of lime spread in her mouth. She started jumping up and down which irritated face due to sour taste.
Manik laughed at the hilarious sight in front of him.
Suddenly nandini laughed as says" MANIK MALHOTRA doesn't knows difference between lime and a chocolate..."
"Manik is a fooolll"sang nandini and laughed, irritated manik
"I knew that" said manik said furiously.
"You Grinch!!! What were you thinking before doing that"
Said annoyed nandini.
"Nothing"said manik shrugging his shoulders.
"I should have known" said nandini shaking her head.
Manik smirked and headed back to his car. While opening door for himself he saw nandini still standing near the tree.
And giggling and singing manik is a fool...
Manik shook his head and muttered "crazy girl "under his breath
"Get in" said manik evenly hiding his smile.
"Since you've gotten the satisfaction of singing that I'm fool, will you now do me the honor of blessing me with your auspicious company?" he asked her a bit sarcastically.
"Hmm... let me think...!" Said nandini
"Cut the crap and get in car right now!! " ordered manik while hiding his smile.
Nandini huffed in annoyance and sat inside the car and the drove off.
As she sat in car, within few minutes nandini fall asleep. Nandini's head fell on his shoulders like a comforting weight. He looked down to find her still sleeping soundly as she moved her head slightly to find a more comfortable position in his shoulder. Without realizing, he found himself moving down slightly so that his shoulder was at a lower and more comfortable level for her. He saw a small contented smile playing at her lips and she lightly wrapped her arm around his as she snuggled deeper. The refined beauty of her face now seemed to dissolve in an expression of child-like innocence as she slept soundly.

A loose strand fell on her face by the air blowing in and she scrunched up her button nose, looking annoyed. He felt himself smiling as he gingerly used his other hand to tuck it behind her ears, earning another relaxed smile from her. There was something about her smile that made him happy from the inside.
Quietly drove towards mukti's house Still trying to join dots and Making sense out of what ever nandini was saying.
The flat lights was on when he reached the apartment which means that mukti was awake .He gently shook to wake her up but nandini was too deeply asleep to wake up and after a couple of tries, he realized it was better if he let her sleep. He gently picked her in his arms, trying not to make any sudden movements that would disturb her.
He saw how perfectly she still fitted against his body. He could feel her even, shallow breathing. that made the hair at the back of his neck stand up. He felt a warm feeling envelope his body when she clenched his collar tightly and snuggled her face deeper against his neck.
Smiling slightly at the wonder in his arms,
Manik took nandini to his room and lowered her on her bed. A soft smile lit his face when she refused to let go of his collar .
He tried to pry her hands off him when she spoke in her sleep.
"Don't. Don't leave. I'm tired of being alone. So tired." She mumbled in such a helpless and broken voice that his hands stopped midway.
"Sshh." He whispered in a pacifying voice.
"So alone." She continued mumbling.
"Sshe it's alright nandini. I'm right here. Not going anywhere. I'm right here beside you. You're not alone" He whispered soothingly, moving her hair from her restless eyes. His own eyes reflected his anguish as he quietly lowered himself on the bed next to her, maintaining a respectful distance and then covered her hand on his chest with his large one, drawing soothing circles to calm her down...

But his mind wandered back to the words and the incidents took place
( one thing is clear that nandini still loves me and missed me all these years. Our relation was not a teenage fling for her. She is not over me but what is the reason behind her breaking up with me. many unanswered question have arised
In my mind .and I will definitely find answers to it by hook are crook.) Said manik smiling while gazing at nandini's beautiful face under moon light.
Nandini managed to catch hold of his hand, pulled it under her face and kept her cheek on it, looking contented and peaceful.

Manik didn't pull his hand back, instead he shuffled closer to her and rested his back against the headboard, smiling at her. He tugged the falling locks behind her ear and then leaned back.
He did not realize when sleep consumed his tired body and he drifted off with his one hand still tucked under nandini's soft cheek.
Mukti stood at the doorway watching the scene unfolding before her eyes. There was something about the moment that told her that her baby doll's happiness is not far anymore. Gently wiping a tear that had slipped down her cheek, she turned around to make her way into Nandini's room.
Tears flowed down when she saw nandini and manik sleeping with hands intertwined and manik's other hand securely under nandini's cheek.
Mukti's smile changed into worry.
(Freak!!! Nandini still has alcohol traces in her stomach... And I can't make her puke now to throw it all out as manik is too here... It will get really bad if alcohol is not taken out of her... This stupid girl has made me swear on her to not tell anything to manik otherwise situation wouldn't be same)
She was snapped out of thoughts as she heard nandini coughing. Which woke manik up too from his sleep he looked around sleepily and realised it was nandini coughing continuously.sHe was asleep but she looked very restless as a cough every few seconds disturbed her sleep. Hesitantly, manik lowered a hand to his forehead to feel his temperature and with a gasp, drew it back.
Nandini was burning with a high fever!
Manik was shocked as he looked around and saw mukti standing there.

"Manik, Cabir texted me about nandini being drunk. As nandini's system doesn't accepts alcohol readily and these are the consequences and this fact is known by all"
"By all!!!!" and still someone had the audacity to spike her drink... I am gonna kill that bas***d" said manik fisting his hands, controlling his anger.
Mukti saw nandini coughing blood which worried her till wits. Her motive was to send manik away for few minutes so that she can make her throw up completely.
"Manik! Actually the medicine prescribed for nandini is almost finished will you please get it"
"Text me the name... I will be back as soon as possible..." Said manik rushing out of the room.
While mukti was trying to get wake nandini up she heard manik shout "please take care of her" which bought a smile on mukti's face as she shook her head
"Crazy lovers!!" She mumbled, looking down on her sleeping figure and
Instantly worry and concern plastered on her face.
nandini scrunched her eyes slightly with a disturbed look on her face but didn't wake up. With lot of effort ,Mukti made nandini sit with her eyes still closed.
"Manik"nandini whispered between coughing.
"Nandini, its me mukti...Come... Walk to the washroom" said mukti helping her to get up from the bed and walking to the washroom. She supported her by holding her right hand and placing the other hand on the shoulder.
Nandini coughed and started puking. Mukti patted her back and soothing her.
"Water"nandini whispered out of breath.
"Wait a sec" mukti said and rushed yo the side table to fetch a glass of water.
Nandini drank the water in a go and breath heavily due to short of breath while mukti continuously kept patting her back and helped her settling down back in bed and pulled the covers over her securely and within few second nandini went in slumber sleep.
Mukti walked out of room when she saw manik coming in with medicines.
Mukti wanted to tell him the truth but Stopped herself .
(I don't have right to tell u manik... Its only nandini who can tell you the truth but I think our manik is brainy and strong enough to find answers to his question and make his messed up life back to track)
"How is she now... Has temperature lowered down...is she still coughing"
"Dude breath!!! Yes YOUR nandini is fine and sleeping. Though she has thrown up fully and alcohol is out of her but temperature is still high... After having medicines and she will be alright... Don't worry" said mukti giving him a ensuring smile.
Manik smiled back and asked hesitantly.
"mukti...actually I wanted to ask you sth"
"Yes manik" said mukti calmly.
"Can I stay at your place tonight"
"Ofcourse manik... That was not even a question to ask... Just let me know if you need anything... Alright" said smiling mukti patting his shoulder and turning to walk back to nandini's room when she was stopped in trackes by manik's request.
"I mean in nandini's room tonight... Only if you
Don't mind"
Mukti turned around and said " go ahead!!! Who am I to separate you " smilingly and walked towards her room leaving confused manik behind who was trying to make sense out of mukti's words
