This was the true turning point for him.. his realization of what unconditional actually means.. not blind faith/absolute trust.. but someone with complete awareness who loves you inspite of yourself.. after this he could let go of the games, buy into her hope and be the optimistic one for her..They have switched their roles now yes but the transition is not random at all.. they have both evolved and grown into each other's POV.. THAT is the true elegance and subtle beauty of this track😳
