Part 11

I ,then headed to pick her up

While driving ,

The vortex of my thoughts struck a needle on the clock of that day ,

Whose damnation still persists on my tongue,

A day which gave us both , scars of nostalgia .

. The day; a nightmare dressed like a daydream, which slayed us as swiftly as the guillotine.

Manik remembered it was the last time, she was in his arms ...

yes the last day of her second year at space
She was dressed in a beautiful Red kurti fitted properly to

enhance her slim waist
She had finished her last exam on that day
Physics exam it was ..
She always scrunched up her nose and told him how much

she hated physics and wished she would never have to study it.
She slowly finished her exam and had come running into his arms at their spot behind the music wing ,

of course where he was anxiously waiting for her .
" Oh god its 12:05 !..." .Manik looked at his watch

" ...her exam was supposed to get over at 11:45 " he thought to himself

" I hope her exam went well ...!!"

when he suddenly felt a huge thud on his back ...
One familiar pair of small arms wrapped around him
He smiled
They both basked in the moment like two shadow silhouettes

which mingled in the moonlight .

Today he wished it could have all stayed that way
but alas! lifes horrible transgressions spare none .

He turned around and looked at her ...
After kissing her few times, trying to make up for all the 3 weeks

he had missed her during her exams ,

when she had strictly given him 1.5hr each full day as she put it for " catching up " ,

He grabbed her hand and clutched it tight in his
"Come let's goo "
"Manik where??"
"Arre ...we are going to your favorite restaurant, so no more questions " he had said kissing her cheeks
" Ohk ".she smiled and they both went

After that amazing lunch .
Well ,of which he till date remembers the exact food they had ordered
Her favorite red sauce pasta with loads of cheese
And he had enchiladas for himself .

Finishing which,
She as usual wanted an ice cream
He had agreed as always for her.

.He went into the shop.

He vividly remembered he got a call ...one call and his life changed forever!...

.Nandini was kidnapped.

And who else could do that

. Nyonika Malhotra.

.No one else.

Manik had done everything possible to find her...
then finally, she was found.

Found in a state his mind admonished himself for ever loving her

Her head was bleeding ,

The eyes which promised him light were closed ,

The girl who twirled and laughed was merely a patient in the hospital now .

Manik had broken down ,

The 12 critical hours it wasn't her,

it was him on the edge of the world fighting for each breath of hers.

Cabir : Manik ! Dude she'll be fine ..she is recovering fast
Manik : cabir ! U know who did this ?? (in the softest whisper )
Cabir : u found out !...chal police station chalte hain ...we ll file a case
Manik : its Nyonika .
Cabir looked at this man, who was getting seeped into a black hole slowly
And hugged him tightly

Next few days were better as Nandini' s health had improved and she was regaining normalcy again .

But the damage was done!

Manik s thoughts scampered only on her , her life
He couldn't risk Nandini anymore
Nyonika could never be trusted

As long as he was with her
She would always be at risk

After a long 24 hrs of an unending battle between his need of her in his life ...To her lifes need

He had decided

He decided what every true lover would,
He had to end it,
For her, with her.

Nandini was too precious too loose

He knew breaking up with her would be hard,

Or well he knew the emotions they would feel,

the hurt it was going to come was worse than pulling a trigger on yourself

It would last a lifetime, the pain would boil, burn and writhe them a lifetime.

But, it couldn't near the situation that could have happened if hadn't rescued her
.That day.

. An attempt to murder it was .

Yes ! a bloody attempt to murder

Well , when did nyonika care about someone's life ,

But he did

He will : forever , even if it meant dying a thousand deaths for her .

And in the game of his life's control and power

She was used as a pawn

No , she could never fall to be a pawn

She could only be his queen to whom , he bowed down happily

But he berated himself , for now

His innocent girl was dragged into this

More than that , he was helpless for the blood she shed

The hurt she got for no mistake of hers.

She was the reason of his survival,

In Her smiles constellation he had found light for his survival .

.Losing one chance was far far less than losing her forever .

He had to do it ...
For her
Yes !

"easy " she said , I remembered how cheerful she used to be after her exams ,and this wasn't even close to that

We both settled in the car " Nandini , I thought we could go for a lunch ..What say?"

"uhm ...manik if u don't mind , can we have lunch at your place itself , pleaseee..."

I agreed seeing her sad and

well , I had to confess myself too

I wanted to unwrap myself before her , about how she was always worth the fight I fought for

The fight I fought for us .

Totally unknown to her

For 6 years .

. Just to see this day , and finally they were here .

well , now the revelation is here , but " the talk "

"how manik fought ? " and well , finally their reuniting will start .
