Nxt morning :

Ohh shittt!!! I m late !!...i said switching off the alarm in a hurry ...

.it was already 4 ...n I had a surgery to assist at 5 .

Dr. Fernandez could be angry if I was 1 millisecond late for his briefings..

And of course how could I forget my habit of always trying to be his favorite student ...

I quickly picked clothes from my wardrobe and came out dressed after a shower

Gathering all the sheets and notes I prepared for the surgery today

and my keys I closed my quarters door and locked it to run hurriedly

down the stairs and hop into my car ...

It was jst a 15 mins walk from the quarters ...but today I didn't have that much time ..

I went into the hospital passing smiles to all the nurses and

changed into surgery clothes and raced to the Dr. Fernandez's cabin ...

Phew !

I reached ..only to find I was second ..after Rahul off course!

We quickly exchanged glances and sat down waiting for senior doctors to come .

Me and Rahul were the only two interns who were allowed to assist major surgeries..Or intern for them ...for we both were the toppers of our batch and we did have an amazing hand at surgery or as so most others thought so...

Not that I had complains being with him ...he was sweet and friendly ...

A supportive friend and maybe he was one of the only people who helped me through this mbbs thingy ..apart from namita and Arjun ...

We four hanged out ...we were pretty simple ..all of us and had many common things ...the most important being we all that same priority " to finish mbbs successfully"...LOL

Slowly we were done with our briefing and went into the OT ...after a 8 hour long surgery to revive a person from almost death ...Hoping for miracles many a times in between and a lot of instantaneous decisions and tensions ...the patient survived ...

Me and Rahul along with the nurses were the last ones to leave after we sutured up the body and took readings.

"Rahul ...i ll wait back ...I ll be in my cabin "...I said turning to Rahul who was leaving for home.

I quickly went into my cabin to catch up on some sleep as I had routine rounds and night shift today

I was sleeping on the couch of my cabin when I realized that my pager was beeping continuously

"Maybe an emergency "I mumbled ...

I put on my usual surgery clothes ...And the mask and headed to the OT again ...

When suddenly I felt someone pat on shoulder

It was dr. Fernandez ...he said : dr nandini ...there is an emergency surgery ..but I paged you for some other help ...not the surgery ..

I sulked ...I loved attending surgeries ...it had become my passion

Dr nandini ..i want you to dress and care for this bunch of youngsters ...they are some band...I don't know ...but there was a overcrowding and some pushing and pulling at their concert due to their popularity .. ...Since our hospital is the nearest and the best ...so they need dressing ...n are coming here

I m handing them to you ...dean himself has called me ..to tell u this

"Me ? sir but why ?" I asked

Because you are the best at hospitality and more than that ...you are dean sir's favorite and since with this band's popularity , we need someone trustworthy .

So head to your cabin and yes! let me remind you...you need to keep them around until their managers handle the media and pave way for them to go back.

"Yes sure sir "

Saying that I headed back to my cabin ordering a fresh lot of all medical tools, a coffee to keep myself sane and drowned again into the reports lying over my table ...

As soon as I picked the coffee mug in my hands ...I realized I was still in surgeon clothes and the mask ...

I moved my hand to remove the mask ...when suddenly my cabin door flung open..

I turned suddenly to see nurse: doctor " .here are your patients, 5 of them .i ' ll page the nurse station to send a nurse to help u."

I nodded and suddenly I saw 5 people entering my cabin ..

I looked up to the first face that I saw ...

I was dumbstruck ...

My body stopped where I was standing ...

My hands which were up near my face to remove my mask ...suddenly held the table behind me ...to support my body weight

Those eyes ...

Damn those eyes...!!!

those orbs were dark woods and i , a little wanderer who had lost herself ,

had gotten lost into them

since the past 6 years .
