So,before I start my rant I'd like to warn all fans that this is purely my opinion,none of you are forced to agree.And I don't expect any of you to. Die hard manan fans may get offended ,but I just had to say what was on my mind. Plus,many of these reasons only apply to me,and are related to my personal experiences,so I'm not saying that manan is boring or bad,I'm just saying that I'm not enjoying them these days
ok,so I started watching KYY a few months ago. I don't live in india, and don't have mtv india. So I did not know of KYY when it started. So I was going through arnav-khushi vms ,when I saw onw vm is the suggestions list ,about manik and nandini. I usually don't watch a show or watch a vm till i research on the show. Like,go on its Wikipedia page and read the main story,but I was bored,so I clicked it. This was like at the time of the 50-60th episode. So the scenes were cute, I felt like the actors had done their job really well and I thought I'd give it a shot. Watched a few episodes, I felt like it was a typical story of the mean,arrogant bad boy and nerdy ,nice , good girl. I kept watching the show. I never really hated any of the characters and by the time I had started watching ,the nandini- dhruv ship was sinking so I never really cared about dhruv - nandini . I did not see aliya- dhruv coming. Like i usually have a knack at discovering couples but for some reason (maybe I was too involved with manan), I never really thought there would be anything between them ,and later when their love story started to develop i gained more and more interest in them. I felt like they were very different from all the couples I had seen till then. So I became a dhrulya shipper,manan was already slowly getting boring for me (like it was the same thing with different setting,manik would go close to nandu,try to kiss her and fail).
However the event that made me seriously sick of manan was the sacrifice track. I HATED IT. I totally lost interest in manan for a few episodes. Then slowly the apology track started, I was mainly watching the show for dhrulya and cabir.The whole soha track actually got me interested. Like not the parts where she went crazy but before that,when she became friends with nandu.After that the friendship track between manan was stupid ,in my opinion. Again ,when they almost got together I got interested.I was actually very interested during the whole nandini broke manik's trust. Infact I was really interested in the current track. I hate the whole WH thing. I do not know what they are trying to prove,that manik is a playboy ?
One thing I liked about jun pyo in boys over flowers was that jan di was his first girlfriend and he NEVER showed interest in any other girl. The fact that another girl too has rejected manik's advances makes me feel like nandini is kind of losing her value. Like ,she's not the only one who stood up to him,she's not all that special. And that if he had spent more time with vibha they could be a couple. Yes,I know its wrong of me to judge manik on his past,but...
These days even dhrulya is getting boring. Its just alya trying to convince dhruv and dhruv rejecting her,thinking she still loves manik. So ,I really hope that somehow the show redeems itself and makes me more interested in it.
