@Anu: I won't argue about execution.. but with the constraints they have, I really don't know how they would show all this subtly unless they just made the characters spout all this verbatim, no interpretation required😆
Was it optimistic? This was really the way I saw it.. Manik has too much respect for Nandu to ever be condescending with her.. I will never buy that argument... this boy has so many self-worth issues and has always considered her so much above him, how could he possibly be patronizing with her, even unintentionally? Totally OOC that would be.. also, he is no chauvinist.. if the tables were turned and she were having a breakdown, he would do the same for her in a heartbeat.. In fact, I would love if they ever show this, maybe when her past/parents death is brought up (high hopes😛)

@BI: Only when the feels are upon me.. I'm moody like that😳

@Mais: Your words n mine.. there is simply no comparison.. mine are just letters strung together interspersed with punctuation, yours on the other hand are pure bliss and magic combined..

And what's all this talk about Baba being dumb, patronizing, losing credibility etc etc..

Arre kyun bhai? This is Manik we're talking about.. he's a born manipulator.. probably learnt about give n take before he even learnt to speak.. just think for a second.. in the spot days when he bullied her, how was he able to accomplish it.. by threatening her with that stupid contract.. but what about now? What is his leverage with her NOW? He has absolutely nothing to hold her.. even the guilt thing is over n done with.. so how is he certain that he can get away with all these shenanigans.

^^ why use them?

. because he is smart and he does know exactly what weighs with her.. he even used it during the Vinegar drinking dare.. the key words.. "FOR ME".. he knows the value of these words and he knows the power they hold on her.. that she will go above n beyond just on the strength of these words alone.. NOW tell me, if that's not absolute trust, then what is?

^^^ Wish your words alone are saying its more misusing trust. I think vinegar was not about trust. Vinegar was Manik using his oldest tricks to fight and battle. By using his monstrous side to make her back off because right there he was too overwhelmed by his feelings for her and he needed an out. Because he couldn't do it on his own, he wanted her to back off and that's why he used the whole 'Dhruv I'm a Monster' facade again. But Nandini knows him and sees through easily thus his reaction when she took the second glass too.

Whom do we throw tantrums, display our moodswings and act pricey with? Only our closest loved ones with whom there is an absolute guarantee that they will indulge us and not abandon us at our lowest.. If he did not have have this surety, this instinctive complete faith that he act his childish and temperamental worst with her and she will love him anyway, he would not dare to do it.. never has in all these years.. this is his greatest gamble.. showing all his insecurities and fears and confusion openly.. the only thing is, he hasn't consciously realized it yet.. but he will.. that's the whole point of this track..

I won't have minded this one if it wasn't so imbalanced. With Nandini being the one who has to go through all the trust tests here whereas Manik could've done some of his own pondering, and not make it all about him, but that's okay, i'm hoping to see that in the future.😆

for him to see how much he already has let her see of his true self.. n how she is not running away no matter what.. this is not him trying to 'test' her love or him presiding in judgment over whether they can be 'together'.. no, in so many ways this is his version of the 'trustfall'.. him learning how to surrender himself to her.. n just live in 'hope'.. the reason he keeps emphasizing them 'surviving' each other till fusion concert is because he want to know for sure whether she would really still want him after she sees his dark side.. he doesn't use the IHUs and make-you-suffers for the meaning they convey, their purpose is to see literal-minded Nandu's reaction to them n how she perceives those words... right now his monster act is deliberate, controlled and he can stop before he crosses a line.. but there will be occasions in the future, when that won't be the case.. he might be too lost in his head to realize what he is doing.. will Nandu run away or be scared of him then? Or will she stay and see through him? He needs to know these answers before he can really commit himself once again to their 'hameshas'..

^^ Nandini has seen him at his worst, and not at his worst but at his worst toward her. In fact way before it came to be - pre musicana, episode 60. and since then. And there's a misconception here too. It's about will she able to be tolerate all of it, whereas, for me, it would've been so so beautiful had it been 'Will I be able to make her stay? Do I deserve her? Can I really be the man she wants me to be and give her the humesha she so badly deserves?'

As for Nandu, my biggest problem with this track is that I felt she was enabling his crazy and indulging his whims when she should be simply giving him a reality check instead.. but now I feel that wouldn't work, because he is too afraid to listen right now.. he will only lash out worse if she tries it.. also, Nandu enjoys his crazy.. in fact it prompts her to bring out some of her own (guitar-strap cutting, fake catch-falls).. she is okay with his barbs n silly dares as long as he is NOT drinking the vinegar himself (literally n metaphorically) or harming his music.. but luckily he still internalizes these concerns of hers.. so he will make a genuine effort with his music, maybe even try to curb the self-destruction but doesn't mean he'll give up the games in the meantime..😆
The question that really bothered me for a while is whether this was all extremely unfair to Nandu.. was he taking advantage of her 'too responsible' nature again and was she letting him? I'm still undecided on this one n it's not because of him but rather her choices.. if she enables his DQness then he enables her escapist tendencies without even realizing it.. n in as much as I'm not a fan of this attitude of hers, fact of the matter is she signed up for his brand of insanity.. she is the one who insists on wanting to be him come what may, is determined to consider it a challenge and overcome regardless of his own cynicism over their ability to align their clashing personalities.. so if that's her stance, all I can is say is so be it.. "Hope" FTW I suppose..😉😛

I love this boy more than life. I do. and that's why like I said I personally want the best in him to be highlighted too. I've seen a sort of imbalance since a huge number of epsiodes btw their givings to this relationship. There's some serious introspection i want to see on my boy's front so i know why he's doing what he's doing but because i adore him i've certain expectations and i am going to wait for that part to play itself out.

okay that said

Few things I kinda disagree with...see if this makes any sense...he can MOST DEFINITELY be unintentionally patronizing towards her...He is bossy by nature...or if we should so choose to call it...bossy is his DEFAULT way of functioning when he wants to act out...so when he's in that mode, he really doesn't care...he will boss her around...and it's not the good natured bossing around of when he's being indulgent towards her in happier times.

But please, Manik (and I say this comes from Parth's own nature😆) is DEFINITELY bossy by nature...no matter how tenderly he's treated Nandu many times...not saying he's not capable of tenderness too...but who says that super affectionate ppl can't be bossy too?

Just that yesterday they gave him a pretty STUPID (in my opinion) dialogue otherwise usually I can just laugh at his bratty attempts to be bossy.

People with low self-esteem can deffo be bossy and condescending as part of their defense mechanism to cope with the world at large.

Troubles of an Atlas, should I sit out or should I type.

Manik's tone can be patronizing, his words can be harsh but Nandini and he both know that he doesn't mean them. He cannot expecially after he told her that it hurts to hurt her or that he cannot live without her.
He was patronzing to her during the first break too, when she opened her heart and worry, he threw a harsh worded challenge at her because he knows she thrives at it. He did the same to her now because she was dejected while sitting on the stairs.

@Rida - As much as we want Manik to ponder, it's letting in the audience inside the head of a complex guy, whose predictability they want to use for future tracks. His confusion is the conflict, so if they give him a moment of clarity now. It won't work. He needs it when they are stable and when he see her how she never left him or believed in him.

Why I love you Wish! This! Nandini for sway from her stand. She won't even battle her eye before any challenge. But any mention of the past she hid so carefully, so intricately with tremor the walls she built brick by brick in all these years. Pandit knows Amms, had been her student, who is to say that he knew nandini's parent too. Nandini was with Amms since she was of 7 and Pandit left Amms classes before that so high chances of him actually knowing her parents.
I legit want a scene where Pandit goes down the nasty road seeing Nandini not focusing at all and says something along the lines of "Your mom/dad was so passionate about music. had she/he been here, they would have been totally disappointed in you." This one line and all of nandini's scars will be out in open for everyone to see.
