Two warring parties, two dominant factors fighting for control of one soul.

The head represented by Noyonika, his mind corrupted and corroded by years and years of manipulation and ugly games.

It is this factor that makes him say the first half of his statement
He said " I can't live with you...No!",

Right here, it seems like a conscious decision, the "No" kind of sealed it for me, this is his head asserting for dominance and control, he needs the reassurance of that No to confirm that he cannot live with her for breaking his "trust"

Two deep breaths and

" I cannot live without you", its his heart here, his beautiful heart that somehow managed to survive while his mind couldn't. The heart years for light, for love, it still beats for her and her only and his heart gives him the answer despite the fight put up by the mind. The heart represents Nandini.

The head creates hate. The heart gives hope.

And this is the crux of the battle for Manik's soul.

I have no clue if I make sense but I was struck by this when I watched the episode again😆

Thanks Adhi, for saying my heart out..you said everything what Manik's present state of mind is...but as loyal fan of yours(which i think i am) i should be truthful that i want more from you..something is lacking or it is little short for my expectation regarding your writings or way of expression...like his change of expressions one into another for anger followed by hurt love depicting his conflict...i don't know whether i make any sense or not...cause i myself is not in a good state of mind..

Cats being all serious and giving feels wala post
But yeah the conflict between Head v/s heart can be clearly seen through this track
How he wants to hate her and live in darkness because that is what defines and yet he cant help holding onto the last straw -His Nandini for light. How he tortured her by giving her vinegar one moment and the next moment he came with buckets full of ice cream because she was suffering. He can still suffer but to let her suffer? No thats not him

Wise Cat decodes it like a boss.
Thats him right but I feel somewhere his heart is winning , it turned her way when she earnestly asked him what she can do to heal him, get him to smile again. I doubt he ever had someone came upto him and tried making up for his disappointments. This gives him hope too.
While his mother presented the perfect reason why he can be around Nandini while struggling to find his own balance.

Nyo messed up Manik, not Nandini. It was always about how he reacts, his impulsiveness and his dismissal if people disappoint him.

Manik has had a perfect defense mechanism - this monster mask. It gives him the power to numb his emotions and make decisions . He is using it again to hide his pain but with Nandini he is laying it all in the front, hence giving her the chance to comfort him. Show him the path, while also letting Nandini see his own ways of approaching things. Also the boy will learn more about his girl too. Somewhere this time they will build the bond with no pretenses or expectations.

Here at this point we have a confused Manik but the one who is letting Nandini know that she will have to fight for them. His confusion is reflective of Nandini's reactions to him. If he says hate, she reads it as hope. If she says he cannot live with her, she takes it as he cannot live without her.

Manik is going through an ideological crisis of sorts- Mind vs Heart , indeed.

Haha no problem, yeah the problem is I didnt finish watching the whole scene the second time around, I watched this part, something struck me, I paused and I wrote and hence why its incomplete, thats why I wasnt sure if I made sense because these were more like jottings and I didn't want to lose whatever that feeling was, so wrote. I will try to write another post when I re-watch the episode on a whole😆

Beautifully put, catty. The heart vs the head.
After angrily saying "IHU" and gave that intense speech, he calmed down, and told her quite gently how to get his smile back. That was his heart talking, his heart listens to her and introspects. And when she wouldn't give up on them and smiled to herself over the hope of "us" and walked away, Manik couldn't help but admire her strength, the small smile creeping up as he looked her way.
I don't know why, but I suddenly got transported back to the scene where Manik said to Nandini "Don't think I said Fair game because of you" the same zizzt, the same attitude, only this time, it had been touched by love. But perhaps you could explain this connection better, catty. I feel I am missing the link between the two.

Hello Adhira!! 😛😛
okay!!! This is Confusing!! The epi was confusing.. i mean Manik. Yesss, the Always Confused Monster Manik Malhotra, who have no idea as to what he blabbers, terming it as Hate... Yes the so called Caring waala Hate he have for nandini, which does not allow him to be with her and at the same time makes it impossible to keep him away from her..
The same Hate which he uttered that day , and is now pircking him when she mentions "You Hate Me"..

let manik feel insecure, Jealousy and what not, this will slowly make him open up more to nandini, making her more hopeful to work on them!!

PS:- very well and beautifully Written!! :)

CAAT BE THE BOSS

So Spot on!

There's the Manik who he has been all his life - following his set of rules and codes that have shaped him and made him and helped him survive in any situation, those which are rather blank and decisive, no space for any change - fixed. 'I can't live with you.'
That's his rule book. That's who he always have been. That's him trying to stay true to what he's always thought right.

And then, there's the heart. The heart which's battling the mind with such a ferocious force that he can't seem to find a way or will to win from it.
'I can't live without you.' The heart that's telling him that love cannot be bound by rules or anything, it's timeless, boundless, just what it is. Can not fit into anybody's mould of expectations.

The battle is so real. What does he follow? The intuition that had been his survival or the one without which he'll completely crumble?
