@Bold - I don't know if we can measure Alya's loyalty to an emotional state , because of the severe lack of any emotional connect between the two. Like she has herself told Dhruv, they were living the hype. She was emotionally vested in the hype the relationship generated. So we cannot say what was it that emotionally tied her to that relationship, but one think is clear she wasn't emotionally aware of Manik, she couldn't trust him enough to communicate her worries or insecurities. She was always wary of sharing her troubles or thoughts with him. He did try to communicate - once when he asked her if she is insecure or wants to talk about it. She was the one , against distrusting him and didn't share her worries. The fact is they never communicated ever about their emotional stress even in that 7 years of friendship. He never went to her to share his worries, because even infront of her he had to be invincible. She bought into the facade just like others. So these guys even then would have failed at the communication game, even if they tried because of Alya's inability to see through Manik .Nandini's presence just highlighted the glaring differences Alya and Manik had , some of the issues were irreparable . here we must never forget that though they were together for 7 years , much of it was basic friendship within the confines of fab5 , where Manik operates differently and has a saviour complex. Was Alya the person who would have bought Manik's assurance regarding Nandini, because at that point she believed Navya more than him. She clearly didn't trust communication between them which is why she took the extreme step of eliminating Nandu through goons. .Won't she have been more controlling , on edge and tried caging him which like Dhruv said would further push Manik away because he doesn't do well with restrictions and control. Could any of his attempts ever fill the deficit of trust she already had on him, it wasn't about Nandini but otherwise too.Her lack of trust is not her fault , she just never could understand the real Manik, which given that they got together at 12 , she just was stuck with the image of him and took that for real in their relationship. She is not wrong in feeling cheated from her perspective but problem is , she is again viewing their thing from just her POV without understand Manik- because if she did that, she would know emotionally or physically Manik would have never cheated on her.Or atmost he would have atleast handled it all better. And never could he had disrespected her. They both are equally at fault if they make the break-up about Nandini or about his interest in her, because frankly they have been off base with each other for years. They couldn't reach the next level of emotional connect perhaps because she was too fragile to deal with his vulnerabilities and his unwillingness to let anyone in.They were doomed because personality wise they couldn't have handled each other emotionally. I don't think communication would have helped at all. Alya right now blaming him singularly and again discarded the real red flags in their equation proves that they were two individuals with different perspectives in that relationship.
We are pretty much saying the same thing about their breakup was bound to happen cause both were equally at fault, blame it on lack of communication, trust or insecurities, etc. The only thing we don't agree on is Aliya's point of view, while she was very much emotionally involved in her relationship with Manik and still is (as per today's episode). Somewhere she did move on with Dhruv because she was never fully over Manik, so I always felt she was on a rebound relationship with Dhruv. And I am so glad that CV is showing such characterization in Aliya, which is norm in today's world. Even today when Aliya blamed Manik and her anger is justified, cause she feels betrayed of her feelings not physical but emotional. The thing is, are her feeling of betrayal justified that is something only Manik can sort out, and i do hope they show that one last scene between Manik and Aliya to put the end to her emotional torture so that she can finally move on with her life.. .
Anyways, I just adore her "grey" character which is so close to reality...
