Let me take the example of Nandini here, SPACE people considered her behenji and not sophisticated. They laughed at her, did that stop her from carrying on with her life? She has faced far worse in life and aced the test with flying colours. That's the beauty of Nandini's character, she doesn't allow others' perception of her determine her self-worth. That's true dignity.

I am a ordinary girl...if something like that happens to the one i care about...what happened to Nandhu...where it was like she was in a auditorium...I will feel bad that it happened in front of so many people...its natural to me and many others...i donno if you categorize that as us measuring our self worth on others perception...wud i agree or disagree...? Maybe both...some part of us ordinary people do see ourselves from others eyes too...and i said some part...I am personally like nandhu...i dont conform to the dressing style etc...or any other things that my peers think measures my selfworth...infact i m completely oppo to that...but i wud still feel bad for my sis and nandhu if they fall like that in front of so many...its up to you what you think about me and people like me...who feel bad for what happened...!!!!

Its got nothing to do with ordinary or not ordinary. People have opinions and different people have different opinions. For you falling down, might seem as a loss of dignity, for some other people, women working is an affront to their dignity. If we start listening to what people say, then a girl will be shackled inside the house, where also people will have opinions as to what is embarrassing or not. And hence my point, dignity is not based on other people's perception, because if it becomes that, might as well sit at home.

Sit at Home...😊...Nope...!!!
Falling down in front of many people may embarrass me ...but wont stop me from getting up with a defiant smile on my face and gracefully get back to my seat...thats my nature...
I felt bad doesnt mean that would make me take a step back...I am what I am by my own...not others...Feeling bad doesnt make me weak...makes me Human...!!!!

So why make it a big deal for Nandini? She is supposed to represent all of us, she is not someone who shouldn't fall right?

Aaah You still didnt get it...do you...!!!!
OK...I donno in which other way i can explain...anyways I will try...
I am feeling bad that the person I love and care about it in this scenario a TV show character Nandhini Murthy...was shown falling so awkwardly and then running so awkwardly...I feel bad the same way that i said earlier I would feel bad if i had fallen awkwardly in an auditorium...I dont want that to happen...CVs cud have avoided that easily...Still Dimwits chose to do it that way...!!!!

maybe this feeling only some get it...cant explain more...!!!

I understand you feel bad for her but why is it something that a big brouhaha to be made over, people fall all the time, everywhere, even in their bathrooms, why is this a big deal?

Nandini saw the real madness of Soha today ...psychotic ,deranged ,mentally disturbed planning to trap Manik.
Nandini just cannot let this go without doing all that she can to protect Manik😊 Tripping and falling is not an affront to her dignity...it's a non-issue 😊 getting to Manik is her real concern.

@arathim - Nandu has done many things which are as bizarre and as silly. Her falling down awkwardly is an accident- it happens during beauty pageants live on tv , but contestants are applauded for taking it in their stride.
Nandini Moorthy is loved because she is human and real , not a mannequin , which means she is prone to accidents like falling down . It is not something that is new, like I mentioned previously happened to her when she was hastily rushing for her job , she fell down - big deal. She ran across an airport , got everyone kicked out of the plane because she wanted to transport her fireflies- silly, childish but her.

Dignity is an individual thing, nobody can make it or shape it except of the that particular individual , also he/she will have their own definition for it. What you are aiming at is impression- you feel bad and that is your reaction or impression of that situation. Whereas for some of us , it's an accident aimed at showing Nandini's rush and impulsiveness .

The reason why we are at it because the word Dignity or character assassination are far fetched and probably silly, perhaps a bit dimwit as you might call it because all it was was an accident, caused by friction or something, nothing more. If we are to remove all sorts of taboos on female behaviour or etiquette this should be a good start.
