Firebolt be like.. pshh I've got this show figured out. CVs be like... Firebolt, you know nothing. I think this show can't get any better and wam-bam-kabam it does. It blows me away and leaves me breathless.
We wanted a memorable 100th episode? They have us a memorable 100th episode WEEK.
The completely adorable Never have I ever.. game that they played. There was friendship and this sense of what it means to be young and reckless. Whether it be the surprise on Nandini's face or the small reflection of the bond that Fab5 shared, it was done so well and with so much ease.
MaNanBir - DUDE is it possible for 3 people to have better chemistry? I say no. I just loved how comfortable Manik and Cabir were, how easy their friendship was. How Cabir immediately fit in the MaNan equations so damn well.
Baba's happy dance. I mean, do I even have to say it? Most.Adorable.Thing.I've.Ever.Seen.Ever. You know it's easy to assume that Manik went back to Nandini because of Dhruv but that's not it. It's not that Manik needed Dhruv to let go, we already saw how Manik cornered Nandini every chance he got, pining after her, it was more. He didn't need Dhruv to let go, but it was a relief that he did, bliss that he wasn't competing with his own best friend. He was so happy, so childlike in showing his happiness that I was just smiling till my cheeks hurt.
The little duet that Manik and Nandini had after his happy dance. Everything about that entire scene was perfection. The slight mischief in Manik's happy eyes, Nandini's deer in headlights look... it was all just so MaNan. Do you think you can walk in and walk out any time? I just can't even. Nope. Can't. Dead. I'm dead. The way he lifts her. The way he keeps eye contact when asks her almost mockingly if she'll never forgive him...It was too much. I think I've already swooned about half a dozen times. Ish. The scene... its up there. So totally up there.
Manik doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know how to make her listen to him, how get her to react to him. So he does the most Manik thing he can. She'll have to acknowledge him if he's the only one around. Pretty neat idea. In his head that is :'D
He wanted her to react. He had to know he affected her as well. Sadly his plan didn't go quite as well as he'd hoped. She broke down. She was trying so hard to keep it all in. And she'd managed so far. But Manik, Manik will always break her walls down. She broke, holding on to him while telling him she hated him. The contrast of her words to her actions, brilliantly portrayed. Manik was ready to deal with any emotion at that point, just not her indifference.
Nandini's doesn't know it yet, but keeping her happy...that's one thing he's going to make sure he's never failing at.
Tender love, sorry I mean Tender care and something else... He makes her coffee, all adorably only to have her reject it. Baba be #1 kamina.. he maybe Manik Malhotra but he's still Manik Malhotra the 19 year old boy. And it shows. :'D
Tum mile. Manik did what he does best. He sang. And how could Nandini not melt? The genuineness in his voice, his sincerity ... it all showed.
And yet.
The hurt. The pain. It flashed before her eyes when he asked if they could go back to being how they were. She would forgive him but she could never forget. Trust can take a long time to rebuild when it only took a second to break. The words they hurled at each other, the accusations, so poignant and it was so powerfully delivered.
It was heart breaking, his so is this the end? You could see Manik lose hope and it was like a punch in the gut. It makes me wonder what if Manik hadn't fainted.. But that's a muse for another post :'D
We often take Nandini's love for Manik lightly. You could see her heart skip a beat when she saw him lying on the ground. The helplessness she felt, the fear... it all shown plainly on her face. Seeing him hurt is one thing that'll always break her resolve. If that isn't love, I don't know what is.
She goes up to him when he's unconscious, kissing him and hugging him... just to make sure he's still there, to make sure she could still feel his warmth. Her pain, heartbreak it's all transcended by his pain and his hurt.
She can never see him hurt.
Manik doesn't know it yet but caring for him will be the one thing she'll never fail to do.
She calls them toxic. She thinks staying away will help them. Oh, Nandini you can certainly try.
So yeah, I just really loved this week, 'kay? Loved it. CVs if you be reading, I lau you. I mean it when I say I fangirl over the writers of this show as much as I do over the actors. They're all so great.
Congrats and thank you for 100 great episodes.
