Yes he did, they have always given us hints of CabIni developing, first the cute comment and then he called her brave. You could see the grudging respect and admiration for her.

Also in his smirky scene with her in the room, the last statement he makes, if anything happens to me, farak nahi padega. I don't know if I am reading too much into it but the placing of the statement seems significant. Also he keeps groaning and moaning about his hand which is so unlike Manik whereas staging a hospital scene is so Manik. I am over analyzing the damn show.
