Manik Malhotra. What do I say about this man? The truth is the more I analyze him the more I discover him. He is so complex but at the bottom of all his layers he's lonely, he's desperate, he wants to be loved, he wants to be cared for, the child in him never got to grow up. He's still there, inside somewhere in a dark corner, waiting to see the light of day, waiting to be given the warmth of love, waiting to grow up.
This perfect world never gave him anything. Not the warmth of a family, not the love of a mother, absolutely nothing. Instead he was hammered with values that were purely business. And it hurt him everytime, it made him bitter.
The reasons he loves stars? It's because his life is nothing but dark. Darkness isn't just a physical fear, it lives inside him, internally, and he fears it, because there's no corner to hide, because no matter how much he screams for it to be taken from his soul, it resides in, and stars? they're light. They're hope. They're guidance. They're warmth.
And so is Nandini. Selfless like he is. Caring for others more than herself. Believing in fireflies, helping him without wanting anything in return, giving him so much love but most importantly? Forgiving him for his wrongs, accepting him as he is, trusting him, and loving him.
She's his light and he's only human.
A deprived child.
An ignored teenager.
A selfless boy.
A man who needs guidance but there's nobody to provide him.
A friend who never tires of helping his.
A boy who burns if it'll save his friends.
He's truly a monster.
For how can a human be capable of such patience and will?
How can you want him not to make mistakes?
Who was there to instill in him the values of right and wrong?
Who was there to give him the sense of judgement?
He loves more than love, he loves with fear and desperation like a mama Bear. They're all he has, his light, his family, and to have just one shred of lightening after being sentenced to a lifetime of dark? Will you blame him for recklessly and mindlessly holding onto it?
Dhruv means so much to him. And yes he's taken an impulsive decision, but he's taken it at the cost of his own life and his own happiness.
He's dying every moment inside.
And he's on a learning curve.
If you blame him for what he did then do you blame yourself for being human? Do you blame yourself for every mistake you made? Do you not deserve forgiveness? Do you not want to be forgiven? Cos none of us is perfect, we've hurt people at times, unknowingly, but the fact that he's hurting every moment with her? and even more?
This guy is human. And I love his faults.
