While certain theatrics from today were over done, I still thoroughly enjoyed the episode, over all. And especially enjoyed the first five minutes between Dhruv and Manik. The multitude of emotions that Manik went through. Confusion, heart break, done full justice by Parth.
"If you'd told me before... I would have walked out... I would have made her stay"
Of course Dhruv would always come first. Dhruv was the best gift the stars had given him. His best buddy. He is Dhruv's guardian angel and as such could never possibly hurt him. They have years of friendship between them. He's seen Dhruv struggle, he knows what it means that Dhruv is in love. Of course Manik would not take that away from him. To Manik Dhruv always comes first.
Manik has abandonment issues that run a mile deep. Trust means everything to him. His friends were the first ones to accept him, a kid who was forgotten by his own mother. More than anything else, he would never break that trust.
It's not that Nandini came second, it's that he places himself as second priority to his friends. He's always cared less for himself and more for his friends. (irrespective of whether they returned those sentiments.)
This is of course classic guy behavior, he's made a decision for both himself and Nandini. #eyeroll Manik, baba, the decision unfortunately isn't for you to make.
"Love doesn't go away over night."
From this point what I'd like to see is, Nandini calling Manik out on his bullshit. His brain may tell him to stay away from Nandini, but his heart (and libido :P) won't let him.
Another part that I loved from the episode was the contrast in Nandini and Manik situations. She was blissfully happy, something Manik should have been as well, which hit me hard. T.T
I love angst. For me, for a love story to be epic, the struggle has to be epic. Is this a cliche struggle? Yeah, a bit. I'm weary they'll bring back Monster Manik, I don't want that. But you know, I love this show. So bring it on, whatever it is. As long as everyone is in character and the situation isn't too OTT, I'm game for some classic angst.
