I just wanna do my personal rant about the recent episodes of the show.I have had just way too much to say about the past events that are happening in KYY , but honestly I haven't written or analyzed in the longest time. I think the crazy excitement and passion I had to make a post everyday was way back in 2011 when I just joined IF.But honestly , this show makes me wanna write again. Okay , without much further ado , I'll begin my rant. Haha. Forgive me for this sloppy post for I haven't written a proper post here in about 2 years , I kinda went dead after a show ended.hehe. Anyway.

Honestly , when I first started watching this show , I had no hope or expectations. I thought it was gonna be a typical superficial Indian-ized youth show with its usual typical elements of a lot of couples and romance with the story eventually going inside a deep dark well. Also , when I first saw the promos, I didn't believe that it even had a properly structured storyline. However , the length at which we have come to recently , I really have to say , KYY and I , I think, have come a long way and KYY has definitely surprised me at certain intervals , happily. When I first started watching it , I thought I am watching the tackiest version of BOF.But honestly , I can't tell you how glad I am that I was proven wrong. KYY is just KYY in its own right. I am really happy about that actually. When the show initially started , I had major problems regarding Manik's characterization . Honestly , as much as you guys will like to deny it, we know very well that we live in a very adherent , and inherently patriarchal society. It's like , an unsaid huge set of rules against us that society does not demand but compulsorily expects. I guess with the horrific things that have happened in our country , I have become ultra sensitive to slightly abusive and abrasive heroes. Before really taking off my rose tinted glasses from my rose tinted world , I fascinated and personally analyzed every action of disturbing heroes...be it Frankenstein , be it Macbeth or Othello or Hamlet or Heathcliff , Rhett Butler , Captain Wentworth , Darcy, Rochester ,Satan from Paradise Lost , YOU name it. But I guess , recently , my pink bubble popped by a horrific pin of incidents induced by reality . Maybe that's why I don't take Literature as fantasy and TV as not a pallet of reality anymore. Thus , evidently , Manik's character did give me a lot of struggles for personally accepting him as the main lead, at first. However , recently , I have warmed upto him in a way I never thought I would, really.
I remember, from one of the earlier posts in this forum someone had written how these selectively few branded misfits find each other in order to protect each one of them and engulf each other in way to save themselves or at least be distracted from all the serious issues that loom individually ahead of their lives for a long time. I think , I also agree with what Mais said in her recent post , that the amazing thing about KYY is , it never loses its story lines . It remembers it's present , and keeping that in mind carefully carves the future , and never forgets the problems each character is facing and never makes their problems take a backseat out of the blue. Everything sort of stands out and moves the story further ahead instead. Also , like Mais said , we don't know everything about these characters and their intersected pasts, presents and the foreshadowing of their possible disjointed futures. We can just guess.
To be honest , the reason why I initially continued with the show was only for Dhruv. His character , for me , was so so intriguing. He is like this mountain of engulfing silence drifting from one shadow of mundane reality to another . Drifting within his footsteps , not really caring where and what he is walking towards , as long as his guitar is with him . Like another part of his body attached to this guy , only difference being , everyone can see it waving it's arm behind his back. I love how the CVs know what they are doing with him. I am personally liking this "Dhruv trying to impress Nandini" track but I honestly hope it doesn't meddle with the basic characteristics of what Dhruv is. You know why I think , forget chemistry or biology , that Alya is actually good for him , regardless of what their relationship is gonna be or what it is now? Because she sees something a lot of people forget to see. This guy likes to be aloof , invisible in his own shell , drifting away from the convenient array of colours stranded on the social platform FOR A REASON.The most obvious and on the surface reason are the attacks but it is obviously more than just that. And you know what guys? Alya sees it. Despite being the seemingly so called perfect barbie doll in every sense of the word , this girl actually sees him in deep for who he is. "No more hiding , Dhruv. " I don't remember the last time someone believed they had the right or the emotion or even the inkling to say something like that to him. I don't think even Manik says that to him. Or has ever said that to him. That man just babies him. 😆 Alya actually helps him in shaping up a proper personality instead of just letting him hide and tuck himself under the hooded jacket of his basic characteristics. His nature. She shapes him up.If that makes sense. I can't help but let that dialogue strike me like a light bulb! moment when Manik was like genuinely agaped as he asked Dhruv in genuine surprise ,
"Tujhe kya hua hai?"

And the most ironic part , they [fab 5] know each other and the patterns [old and new] of each other's relationships so well, that Mukti subconsciously even said it...Something that has a definitive foreshadowing of future bonds and relationships.

"Alya happened."

If that is not profound as to what is building Dhruv through not just a proper personality but also initializing in making him a man of real growth ,experience , strength and pain instead of a pacified boy who does not know how to control the things that pain him like his attacks , I don't know what is. That's the thing you see. We don't need medical doctors in the name of MaNan [of course we know the reason why this allegiance was even made was to further their own equation par khair...lol] to cure this little boy cause that's the way they see him as. No one knows it yet I know , but honestly , Alya is his cure. I see it. Hell, I feel it.

Also the recent scene of what we saw of them , a typical thing that happens EVERY TIME a friends tries to hook you up with someone , you know what I loved about it ? How the CVs decided to not show the typical convenient initiation of sudden romantic sparks out of nowhere in this scene. The fact that these two have been friends from probably childhood and how that current is maintained while Alya tries to fake try on Dhruv and vice versa, was a very refreshing scene. Because the strong meander of their pure friendship of years was kind of dancing around the entire room instead of the usual out of a box sudden revelation of romantic fireworks blasting out without any backing , reason or development which happens in every show. The fact that the friendship bonds within FAB5 is given this kind of delicate , platonic importance sincerely touches me.

About Manik-Nandini , I had an initial dislike and an eventual love for this equation. Funny, right?
My blood boiled to its degree in the initial episodes when Manik casually told her in unnerving heartless sarcasm that her parents are dead and her brother is ill. Something just ticked inside me. It was like hot red anger . Rage , almost. I just don't know. Whatever. I kind of realized that somehow , whether I have disliked or liked them , they have always gotten a reaction out of me. Somehow. The first scene that made me slightly warm upto to them was one of those early few good scenes where Manik watches Risabh have an attack and realizes why Nandu was insisting so much about knowing Dhruv's attacks. What really got to my heart was Nandu's vulnerability. No she is not an avalanche of strength. No she is not iron clad and no , neither does she seem to carry balls of steel. But that's the endearing thing about her. She is just a normal little girl trying to battle out the everyday pieces of her broken life and trying to hold it together for herself and everyone else, just like the rest of us. In her moment of emotional upheaval , she forgot she was ranting to the Monster Manik , the guy who splashed a glass of water on her face like she was a slave from the 1800s , who made her degrade her self honour she embraces so much by making her wipe his shoe. The funny part about that scene was, going down on a man's feet in our country is usually a moment and a symbol of virtuosity, and blessing. The fact that this is a modern show and any girl of today in our country would feel degraded and angry to do anything around the radius of a man's or an elder's feet was thoughtfully shown . The faint echo of the Hindi phrase, " Aurat ke haath humesha logon ke charano mein hoti hai" , being kicked to shreds. The way it caves its way to show what Urban India is today , is amazing and thoughtful. Khair , where was I? Right. She had forgotten who she was putting her heart out to probably for the first time. The very man who himself was a big cause of it. She put it out there didn't she? How she handles everything. How her relatives won't have the money to give her education , how she fights for her little brother through scholarships and other opportunities and how it is just too dangerous to not receive it , moreover to let go of that opportunity. Any opportunity , really. Those tears aligning the rims of her eyes in front of the audience for the first time , and as vulnerability , along with her heart chokes into her voice..." Sometimes I just don't know what do." So simple , a line . So overtly heard , but somehow , when you hear her say it , I don't know . You actually feel the helplessness in her ... that even if in her individual power she is doing everything that is tangible , that she possibly can..in the end, it is still not frustratingly enough. That scene just made me love Nandini so so much. I don't know how to describe it really. I cried in that scene by the way. Hey , don't laugh at me. Yes I cry when I watch serials , read books , listen to music... There. *Fumes in a corner* You know that phase between MaNan when Manik wanted Nandu expelled? It kinda reminded of the time when Abhay wanted Piya expelled in PKYEK , and when she actually was , he couldn't see it , digest it or even let it happen. Funnily both wanted it for the same reason , because both the men didn't want the girls to pose a danger to their world , that danger being possible closeness of every sort [ haha] .That phase also has always got to me. Okay , re landing to KYY land , sorry. 😆 Honestly , I felt the sparks of their chemistry pretty late but I always liked the height difference between them..reminded me of Mills and Boons Anyway , I felt it though like a lightning especially during the infamous mud kiss between them. The sexual tension between them is seriously simmering , but it's beautiful that even while the sexual wave is ominously present , the characteristics of their basic personalities still remain as they are. Also , just like everyone else , Hell yeah , love the drunk Nandini. SO much fun. Can't she be drunk forever? Hehehe. 😆 Also the "Toh abhi kyun dhoond rahi ho mujhe"..uff. Heart stopping moment , I tell you. And not because of the dialogue but because of the WAY Manik looks at Nandini when he says it .There is just so much of pain , emotional restraint of newly developed feelings and intensity within his eyes as he says that line when he pulls her towards him. I don't see Niti in that scene. For me that scene was all about Parth and the spasm of pain he threw in on Manik's face. Commendable. Also , the hug. Well for Manik it was obviously a desperate search for wanting someone or something..anything to fall back on. What that hug illustrated more for me was the evolution of Nandu's feelings towards him. The genuine shock , the initial coming to terms with Monster Manik warmly hugging her in an attempt to pacify a paining broken heart..the way how instead of freaking out she slowly gradually accepts the hug by placing her fingers on his shoulder . Almost symbolic of how she slowly and gradually begins to hold and accept his vulnerable side when he shows it to her. The eventual smile on her face as if that is what her unconscious mind kind of surprisingly wanted all along and how she didn't realize that all this time that she did. Touchy stuff. Pun intended..😆

Also I have a LOT ,like A LOT , to say about Cabir- Raghav but I am so so tired of ranting\talking\typing. *sigh* 🤔 Just wanna say that when this track developed , it was very relatable to me cause my best friend is gay and I have grown up with him my whole life. Yes you face consequences for who you are but hell yeah it is worth it. 😎 He was physically bullied in school a lot for it but hey High school is always a bitch anyway doesn't matter who and what you are. 😆 Anyway..so it kind of reminded me of that , but my bestie was never scared and he never hid anything but I can understand why someone would , you know. Student- teacher relationships don't bother me cause I have seen them happen in school and honestly school creates enough boundaries regarding who to feel for and who not to feel for already , we don't need any more of them . Feelings are feelings yaar. Kisike saath bhi , kabhi bhi ho sakta hai. Pyaar hai yaar. Jurm thodi hai. Right? Anyway. To be honest , that scene today where Manik out of blind rage hurt Nandu and realized it and offered his own hands in return. Instead of just taking it as a scene it kinda hit home for me. Made me feel awkward in my seat. Honestly , I have seen too many men in my life who out of blind rage do a lot of things to women , unimaginable things and then when they realize the damage, they say sorry..buy sarees for you..gehene ..make breakfast for you and then do the same thing the next day ..and this cycle goes on for 25 years sometimes..just it hits me in the gut I guess. That's if I see something even remotely like a guy injuring a girl kind of scene even though he doesn't mean it , hits right where it shouldn't..or it should. Just hyper sensitive to such stuff I guess. Makes me think of the mountain behind a tiny molehill. Teehee. Anyway. That's enough of my blabber. I wanna post here more..maybe I will. 😛

Wow! That's all I have to say! You've analysed the show and the characters so well! Hats off to you...

The way this story is told is amazing! Even though it's a youth based show the feelings and emotions that are portrayed are so mature and real! I'm so glad this isn't just another piece of fluff like so many other youth shows...It deals with real people with real issues...The characters could just as well be me or you...Somehow you relate to them on an equal level because we've all been through some of those same issues at some point in our lives...

Loved reading your take on the show as a whole! 😃

I agree i thought it was gonna be nothing but lowly pieced fluff , I am so surprised that it isn't. theyre really stepping it up. It does deal with real people with real issues , thats also why I love it so much now. Youre right i guess we all relate to them.

Why the hell is your post making my stupid eyes blurry. I should seriously consider consulting an eye doctor.
I have no idea what to say but that I agree with every point you made. Since we just saw that last scene, I will comment on that. I expected a sorry from him, or a very angry/hurt Nandini. Like every other tellywood couple, you know? But when, I am saying this line for about fiftieth time today-literally-, he stretched out his arms and offered her a chance to avenge herself, I lost all my senses. I had my hands covering my mouth and my eyes got blurry. How beautiful was that scene? I am not saying hurting someone is right, it's absolutely not! He had a reason to be angry, not violent but this is Manik...he won't turn into a sappy hero like that. He is still that person with bottled up rage that Nandini has been calming down. But the care, the guilt, the love in his eyes in this scene had my heat throbbing. As everybody discussed in the AT, Manik was lending her the power. Power and authority were his weapon to protect himself, and he lends them to her, to hurt him. Manik says he will destroy himself to protect his friends and I believe him. I just have a feeling that Nandini will become such an important and precious part of him, he will destroy her along with him...

Okay, now that I am already ranting, I will continue. I love the writers for not turning Dhruv Aliya into another sudden eruption of lovey-dovey non-sense. I know they will come to the terms where they will realize how important they are to each other but I think the story is leading them there. They are not in love, nor are they attracted to each other that way. But the consequences will create those feelings for them. Dhruv's personality is very fragile. He needs someone to take care of him, but he also needs someone to help him step out and make something more out of himself. Aliya's "No more hiding" is very ironic, considering the fact that she is hiding herself beneath a personality to protect herself as well. There are certain moment-very short moments-where you see the other Aliya step out. She isn't the perfect person she puts out to be. She is insecure and fragile in a very different way. And that is why they need each other. They find no reason to hide themselves when they are with each other.

well i have to agree with you on the fact that Parth has a crazy definitive WAY of expressing emotions through his eyes - especially negative tragic ones like pain, supressed emotions , guilt , shock , genuine shock , awareness , intensity its crazy how only his eyes can do that and worse it gets to your heart , the way his face when he realized what he did , the pain , the emotional guilt , the almost crying and regrettable expression ,gaaah! Its like i think because of the way paarth acvts sometimes even when i want to judge Maanik I cant. 😡😆

@ bold- completely agree , I love how the fabrications between the friends are handled and progessed so slowly and delicately as if kuch suddenly different and new in logon ke beech mein jaldi jaldi kiya toh relationships ki momentum doob jaayegi..

@underlined lines- haan he does lekin kab tak? He needs to know how to handle his own problems , his own anxiety..kuch bhi asaan nahi hai I know and I might sound harsh lekin honestly all of us no matter how hard our problems to fight and fend for ourselves , the more we depend on others no matter how caring they are the more our problems which are actually ours travel away from us regarding its familiarity and nature but they obviously never disappear or dissolve.
@italics - OMG totally totally agree. She hides way too much and yes on the surface she seems like the perfect glam doll. But she is just so much more than that..like you said Alya is really fragile..so is Dhruv ..that is the very basic thread of their characters and yes they never hide from each other rgarding their feelings..hell , even out of alyas self insecurities when she pai goons , Dhruv was coincidentally the only one to peek into that insecurity and not judge her about it..even when a seven year old love like Manik did. So so true.

great analysis. Ky2 is definitely diff from all d other show . All d characters are equally imp dey are link to each other and unlike other shows we cant miss d minor details here. In other shows there are many thinks they showed first but den dey forget about it. But in dis show whatever dey show it has some meaning. Like in yesterday epi I love how manik was teasing nandu they hv nor shown dat in druken state d lead couple has said something to each other and now day both are avoiding d confr. Really ky2 is awesome.

such a long post😆 but I loved every word of it 👏👏 ..

In intial days I accidentally caught up one epi of KYY the epi where fab5 gives task to nandu, when it was cabirs turn ..I dismissed it thinking typical youth show, but after few days caught up again at the part where manik collides nandu and the cake which navya made hits floor..Nandu saying mujhe tumse darr nahi lagata manikmalhotra say sorry ..I was like arey this is the same girl they were rAgging few weeks back ..and started following it cuaght up with epi and today I really like this show ..One show which got me addicted after long ..and Manan have a big hand in my addiction😉

I have watched many shows but only few get into my heart and this manhandling by heroes ..seen number of them but never seen a hero who says u can do the same to me..

parth..oh my he's brilliant the intensity he puts in every scene nad the ease with which he does that , just leaves me spell bound

Nandini - this girl amazes me .she 's perfect balance of vulnerability and strength..its for her I started watching show but later KYY caught me niti is too cute and so good...Talli Nandini😆 .I think she deserves an award for the best drunk act with not being OTT..loved her to bits

I love all the characters and actors never seen such a good bunch of them together👏..they are all so good, they look like they are tailor made for these characters,,their equations..the pace of story, unfolding of story..many more

And about crying watching shows movies ..I do that so much ..sometimes I cry buckets😆 and I dont think that's something to laugh about, when we smile watching a happy scene , crying and feeling pain is also an emotion so I am with you😉
