Hey all! Here is the first official newsletter of our AMAZING forum. As you can see, it is called Yaariyan Diaries. The name was thought of by our one and only Mais (lostmymusic). So a little background information about this NL.
The purpose of this to to basically account for everything that has happened on the show and in the forum during our week. It will be posted the following Monday of every week. Our first week was the week of 29th September to October 3rd. It will only cover things that go on between Monday-Friday.
It has taken a lot of effort and hard work by our BRILLIANT NL team to put this together for you, so please show your appreciation. There will be NO bashing of articles, and if you do you will be reported. If you agree or disagree you can comment in a CIVIL matter. Please do express your views and appreciation on our NL, as this is for YOU! Here is our official team. Please give them a HUGE Thank You' for putting this together. 👏 Head Team:

Maanik: The Saviour, The Motivator and The Troublemaker. Showing their bad side but having a golden heart is somewhat faking yourself. Will the real Maanik come out of his self made shell? 29^th September, 2014 (Monday)The episode starts with the Nandini telling Harshad that Navya left for the hostel. In which he questions the seriousness and passion of Navya towards music. Nandini tells him to say as his words effect more than anyone else. In the mean time, Rose tries to get close to Dhruv ,seeing this Cabir enters and takes Rose to the kitchen where he told her to stay away from Dhruv and act like his girlfriend as if his friends get to know about this then it will harm fab 5. These conversations were all heard by Maanik. Cabir tells him that he will tell tomorrow as fab 5 is already weak. Maanik and Nandini have a talk and share some of their worries to ease them out. In the mean time Harshad was standing at the hostel gate to have talk with Navya but Navya didn't came and he left after messaging her. Then the scene shift to the betting as the people were betting who will win or who will lose. Then NH3 and Fab5 were at the podium and where Cabir remarked at the absence of Navya, in which Nandini replied that she will come and they will win. Raghav told that NH3 will perform at second and fab5 at last. Raghav tells the entire band member to wait in the green room. 30^th September, 2014 (Tuesday)Harshad decides to go in and tells the group we should perform at least no matter if we get disqualified or not. In the mean time Maanik was going out when Nandini's chachi found Maanik and ask him to tell where Nandini is? In which Maanik told her that he will call Nandini as they are not allowed to enter the podium and Rishabh is not giving the pen to him. Suddenly, Dhruv was passing by where Rishabh saw a star and pen vibrate and Rishabh had a fits or attack.Maanik try to call Nandini but Nandini switches of her phone. In the mean time NH3 starts performing as Navya shows at the last moment and they perform on "Koi mil gya" song from KKHH. Fab5 gets tensed as they don't find Maanik around Mukti keeps trying his phone but Nandini's chachi didn't pick up the phone and Mukti takes a pill and swallow it. 1^st October, 2014 (Wednesday)Episodes starts with the fab5 in the podium where Dhruv said Maanik is here through phone and Cabir started singing "Manjha" from Kai po che straight looking to the eyes of Raghav. In the mean time, Nandini checks her phone and sees message from Maanik and left for the sick room, there she finds Maanik singing a song. After finishing the song Maanik leaves from there. Raghav announces as there are two winners in which Harshad told Maanik sang through phone in which Raghav says fab5 are runner ups. Fab5 were in a classroom and Dhruv told the reason of Maanik's absence. Scene shifts to the Harshad where Navya and Harshad are dancing. Shahid announces the result and Navya informs Nandini that they won. Chachi told Nandini to not to lose Maanik. And Nandini told she is going to Maanik's house to thank him. Maanik told Dhruv's situation and ask for apology and had a hug. 2^nd October, 2014 (Thursday)Episodes starts where Navya try to make fun of Dhruv and Maanik saying that the great Maanik and his fab5 loose and they are grieving on that in which Maanik tells her that yeah they are upset and need a new bakra for their fun. Navya got scared and run away Maanik follows her for a bit but stop. At Maanik's house Nandini was waiting for the Maanik to arrive and falls asleep on the couch. Maanik arrives and wakes Nandini up where Nandini says thanks for what he did for her. In return, Nandini offers to Raghav sir the entire truth. Maanik gets furious and takes Nandini in the bathroom under shower and told her to not tell this thing to anyone. In the mean time Cabir came to Maanik's room and Maanik hides Nandini and comes out and told Cabir to go at the bar he will come. He goes to the bathroom and saw Nandini drenched in water. 3^rd October, 2014 (Friday) Maanik enter the washroom and give his shirt and trouser to her to wear. In the mean time Mukti arrives and Maanik hides Nandini in the cupboard. He and Mukti had a conversation about the past how Maanik is helpful. Maanik felt uneasy as he doesn't want to know the past to some other person he told Mukti to go at the bar as Cabir is also there. He let Nandini out. Cabir and Mukti are having a talk when Alya arrives and Mukti teases her. Maanik was explain the incident suddenly Alya barge into room, Nandini hides herself and her phone rings but Maanik told it's his phone and let Alya move out of his room and frustrated says that he doesn't know about the party going in his house. On one hand things seem to be progressing finally but on the other, the secrets keep piling up. Makes one wonder just what the future has in store for everyone.
This week was pretty important for all of the characters. The much awaited Intra-College Musicana happened, Navya seemingly witnessed a transformation, characters which were mostly treading on the white lines welled in the grey areas; strength was found in the most vulnerable stages, previous assumptions seem to be going away and these secrets would just not stop increasing.
Let's start with the Musicana. It was evident from the beginning that this event was going to be won by NH3 and Fab5 so the results aren't that shocking. I was initially quite mad at the way this whole event was handled. I mean, NH3 didn't even perform on a song which belonged to their "Rock' category while Fab5 did complete justice to their "Indian Folk" theme. But later on when I thought about it, I was more or less okay with it. The handling of the Musicana, the results and the aftermaths, they all told us more about the characters, specially that how no one is completely right or completely wrong in the show. Harshad raised a pretty pathetic flaw in judgement and gloated over being called the winners while Fab5 were declared runner-ups. While in reality, it was a tie and both the groups have the same and equal chance to perform at the Inter-College Musicana which is the real deal.
The thing which binds Manik and Nandini the most, Manik got closer to that. I loved the way this was all treated. From Manik's chance meeting with Chachi and Rishabh, Rishabh's distrust on Manik, Nandini's distrust on Manik, and Manik's complete concentration on the task at hand, so much so that he even forgot about his music obligations. But when he was reminded of it, he made sure that he wouldn't disappoint his friends nor abandon Rishabh who was in need of help. All this, it just made me wonder just how distant Nandini still is from Manik on a mental level. They still have a long way to go before trust comes naturally to the two of them. Right now, they are treading somewhere in the area where they do share something when they get together but once they get away from that sphere, they don't even want to acknowledge it. Makes me excited as to how they will reach a point when this connection which binds them is seen by the world.
Character development happened just now how I expected it to. Navya might've arrived at the last minute to save the day, wearing a nice dress and looking all beautiful, but she's still the same. Her obsession with Harshad has only increased. It pains me to see her so easily forsake her music like that, for a guy! On the other hand, we have Fab5. They all seemed to be at the rockiest of places in terms of relationships but all it took them music and they were back, stronger than ever. Why did I ever doubt their bond? It's clearly much more than words can define. Just notice the stark contrast in the reaction of Fab5 vs. NH3 after the results were announced. NH3 are so obsessed with defeating Fab5 that they didn't even stop to consider that their "win" happened only on a technical level. Take that away and they wouldn't have stood a chance. Their aim is never to make good music but to make music which will defeat Fab5, which is completely different from Fab5. For them music is to be revered, to be worshiped, to not be taken lightly at any cost. Music binds them, music rules them. They didn't ponder upon their loss much, they took it with dignity and set their eyes on the main target, something which the NH3 seem to have forgotten.
Amidst all this, thank God we had Nandini. The ever sensible girl who actually raised the point that Manik sang well and lost only cuz of a little technicality. Her witnessing Manik with her brother, that changed so many things. Rishabh is the one most precious thing for Nandini and Manik was dealing him with care. And that won Nandini over. That made her think and analyze and take off her prejudiced glasses regarding Manik. Her suspicions that Manik isn't all that bad became almost concrete conclusions. Manik, who's hell bent on keeping up with his Monster image, is gonna have a hard time convincing Nandini otherwise. The fearlessness which Nandini used to outright call Manik a Monster will now shift and change to outright call him a good soul. Aaah! Relationship development, you are so precious <3
Not in all cases though because Harshad is starting to baffle me, more so than usual. His sudden seemingly romantic interest in Navya is so confusing. Is he getting serious about her? Is he just playing with her? Will this interest in her be the eye-opener for Navya? What of Mukti then who is getting seriously depending on pills to function properly? Questions, questions.
Manik can't even fight the physical attraction he feels towards Nandini and gives in to it all the time. I love it how Nandini isn't all that dazzled by it and always seem in control. Manik is losing all that he so carefully built, bit by bit and Nandini is there to witness it all. While Manik will be left to be all baffled and trying to get in control, Nandini will see all that he's hidden inside and will address to that niceness within, not the walls of monstrosity he so proudly shows.
As for secrets, Cabir's secret seems to be close to revelation while Manik hides Nandini in the closet, literally. Fab5 seem to be finally getting on track, with them choosing to stick with each other and not give the other a space. They are acting like a unit, blissfully oblivious to the outside factors which are getting closer and closer to home, making the pile of secrets increase. It's all gonna explode, one day it will all explode. What's left to see is how they're gonna deal with the aftermath of it all?
Final Rating of the Week: 3.75/5(.75 for the wonderful execution of the "Manjha" sequence) Written by: Mais (lostmymusic) Ishq Bulava Jaane Kab Aave This week had a lot of scenes which could be titled as scene of the week but according to me one particular scene had stood out from all the other scenes and that was 2nd September's episode. As Manik has saved Rishab's life, Nandini plans on thanking him personally, as he had switched off his phone. Nandini makes her way to Manik's house without giving it a second thought. She thanks Manik for saving her brother's life and also says that she will tell Raghav sir the truth about why he couldn't he be there during the musicana audition. Manik drags her to the washroom and turns on the shower and says that hopefully she's awake from her dreamland. He says he had lost because of her. Nandini agrees and said yes and that's the reason she'll tell Raghav sir everything that he had done a noble deed by saving a kid's life and he's a hero. Manik disagrees and ends the conversation saying that he doesn't want to be a hero. And at that time Cabir shows up and was about to enter the washroom as the door was open but Manik hugged Nandini in order to hide Nandini from Cabir.
Well there are two main reason why this scene stood out as the scene of the week.Firstly, now Nandini knows the real Manik Malhotra who just pretends to be Monster Manik for the rest of the world but actually he has a golden heart.Secondly, no other episode had this many Manan scenes or "Ishq Bulava" moments and this time we even get a bonus! Apne Pair Par Kulhadi Marna Navya is one character who never fails to make you laugh and when you add the tarka of Monster Manik and Topi Boy to it, a heavy dose of laughter is guaranteed. After seeing Manik and Dhruv hugging each other, Navya thinks that they are comforting each other over their loss. Our Madhubala then starts teasing them on their ignorance of her skills. Monster Manik retaliates by welcoming her as Fab 5's next target He sarcastically asks her food preferences a cockroach ki biryani or an earthworm Poor little Navya runs away to her Harshad ji Dhruv's adorable expressions, Manik's sarcasm and Navya's stupidity provides a great comedy relief. Written By: Vrinda (Manikfan) It is just not a dialogue but a warning for friends, for Fab 5. "Truth won't break us, secrets will."- said by Manik Malhotra to Cabir. As we all know Manik said these words to Cabir when he came to know that Cabir lied to him and the group. He was once again disappointed that after Alya and Dhruv now Cabir is hiding something from friends. Truth is always bitter and we always compromise with it. Best friends are always there with you, for you, to accept the bitter truth. He wanted Cabir to realize that Fab 5 can fight against anything but if there's any secret between them then the friendship will break apart. It is unbearable when you come to know that your friend is the one who did not tell you whereas you kept fighting for that friend. That is how Manik felt when he came to know the truth from Alya and Dhruv while fighting with Harshad. He doesn't want to repeat the same thing from Cabir. Written by: Aabray (Abray)

Manik "The Plethora of Personalities" Malhotra A true blue example of a coconut; a hard exterior to facade the warm interior, Manik did steal the show this week around! Saving Rishab and supporting him at his most vulnerable point was such an awe-worthy moment! The care and concern portrayed by Parth made the scene even more realistic and added dimensions to Manik's character. Furthermore, Manik values the importance of friendships in his life beyond anything else! Not only was he interested and adamant on knowing Cabir's troubles, he managed to give Cabir the support and encouragement that he needed. A true friend does act like a pillar of support when the cracks are visible in us and Manik did exactly that! Manik is not all what he lets on, as there are layers to this personality, as hence the Outstanding Character of this week (29^th September to 3^rd October) goes to Manik "The Plethora of Personalities" Malhotra! Written by Pari (gujjupari) Chachi bani MaNan shipper For this week I chose Chachi as the funniest character because she did have some very funny lines this week. Starting from when she arrives to the college and how some guy teases her she very sportingly says that she looks no less like a teenager. Her interaction with Manik was hilarious with the way she was asking him if he and Nandini are friends or enemies. Also with Nandini her attitude was very jovial and was giving her the advice that she is lucky to have a friend like Manik. I do think she was the funniest character because of her friendly attitude and her positivity during this week both towards Nandini and Manik . Written By: Uditi (Desigirl_21)

Cabir loves to demean people which is no secret. This week I didn't like how he kept making fun of Navya and Nandini (and Shahid) when they all gathered up for the auditions. He made fun of Harshad too, later. Disrespecting others will never gain you praise from others. Harshad-Manik is understandable - they both treat each other in the same way. But Cabir always makes fun of people that have nothing against him. This attitude of his irks me a lot. Don't be nice to people if you can't, but at least don't disrespect them.

Nothing Less Than A Diva

Our best dressed character for this week is... (drumroll please) none other than, the stunning Alya! Truly, she's left us all dazzled by that one spectacular dress she wore for the competition. The light color of yellow, with a design of black and white seemed to fit in perfectly. It suited her fabulously but then again, what doesn't suit her? The beauty queen of S.P.A.C.E has not disappointed us. The necklace and bracelet inscribed in stone added a certain amount of elegance to it all, so did her light make-up. Alya always does know what'll suit best to make her look glamorous. So congratulations to her, for having a fabulous fashion sense, and never failing to impress us. Aur Paas <3

"Aur paas," a line that has been said by Rahul, in the movie Dil Toh Pagal Hai, seems to suit this picture perfectly. Manik and Nandini prove yet again that they have a certain chemistry between them that will never fail to light up our television screens. This episode aired on 2nd October, when Nandini fell asleep in Manik's room. Seems like Manik is in a romantic mood these days and always finds chances to get "aur paas" to his dear Nandu!

Parth and Veebha definitely bring a certain charisma to the show everyday in their roles but offscreen, man do these two look hot or what? Parth and Veebha's close friendship is shown through this picture and Parth, as always, manages to look extremely hot in red. On the other hand, Veebha looks absolutely stunning in her new look as Navya. When you get these two together, you're bound to have an amazing picture! Written By: Kiret (-.serendipity.-)

"Beautiful"

Editor: Pratsy Dhruv has just realized his feelings for Nandini and is having a hard time with knowing if the world around him is real or just a dream. This signature made by pratsy, shows a beautiful scene that occurred between Dhruv and his lady love, Nandini. The signature is blended beautifully and showcases some of the most beautiful moments throughout the scene. The use of textures is simple, but it adds a completely different effect to the signature. Beyond Beautiful Editor: Mais (lostmymusic) What can I say? This was just beautiful. Not only did it capture the best moments of the episode, it also focuses on the most important people. The coloring is amazing, and I just can't get over how well it was stacked. I personally loved this Avi. We had a lot of Avi's, but this one really stood out to me. Not only me, but many others have adapted this Avi as their Signature. Fair enough isn't it? But Mais made lots of icons along with this but I preferred the above one because the scene created buzz among us and story. It is more like a union of two birds comes to rest under the tree after whole day struggle.
