I just started watching the show from the start and am still in the process of fully catching up. Now I noticed some very obvious similarities with Hana Yori Dango, the Japanese version of Boys Over Flowers. And as we already know

it also takes a lot from BOF.

But what caught me completely off-guard of the whole 'spot girl' angle. Because

that is quite similar to the plot of a South Korean movie '100 Days with Mr. Arrogant' where the rich college kid forces the high schooler to sign an 'enslavement contract' to pay back for the damages to his car. She too has to follow him around like a shadow, clean up his room, etc.

So far those are the only two I can spot, I wonder if they took their 'inspiration' from other places as well.

This is turning into a hidden plot-line game. But surely an entertaining one!

Yes we did! For Shaz's birthday thing. And about KiSha for a little bit. I wasn't sure if you remembered and I didnt wanna come across as being stalker weird. Heh. 😆

Would love to see you more active here. I am loving this place, the discussions and members are all so fun. As for fics..only wrote two so far so won't take you long 😆

I always favoured Manik and the way this guy is growing, me is glad for sticking with him. Cabir I am kinda shipping with Raghav but he'd be a riot with Navya so I don't dwell much of that topic. I love Harshad! <3 But I am more interested in his past angst than shipping him with anyone xD

I agree with you..i felt the same!

Dhruv's character is completely JiHoo from BOF. The way Nandini got admission into the college, Manik's mum, some of the mannerisms of Manik, the whole goons incident, getting locked up in the store room - gosh so many incidents are from BOF. Regarding 100 days thingy i forgot about 100days with mr arrogant, I thought it was copied from Madhubala lol. Even in that show RK made MB his spot girl. In fact he used the word spot girl even. I can't remember but there are no. of other things i noticed that was similar with other k dramas i watched.

BTW I dont know if you remember me..i am Samridhi from DEK forum, i used to write daily analysis on the show

You know I have been thinking about rewatching DEK all over again just for Uday. Seriously, that man still makes my heart tingle!

I just finished watching 13th September's episode. The precap with Harshad and Dhruv gave me the chills. There are layers to this Harshad guy. Interesting. Raghav hasn't entered the scene yet for me. As for Harshad, I can't seem to forget that hold he had on Mukti. I might go there if the show doesnt in the future.

Manik and Dhruv, I'm keeping my options open at this point but I did ship Makino with Rui so let's see if that changes now.

I'll be around here for sure. Just might take a lil longer to join full swing. 😆

I'm just waiting for some older woman to come and be Dhruv's past/troubled love interest. The similarities are astounding but I can see them trying to adapt it for the Indian audience. For one, we have a mixed gang, not just boys. For two, Manik has been in a relationships for years verses the Japanese version where the guy had no interest in relationships. I saw the Japanese version so that's my reference point. The main guy was also more violent there. But the yellow note, the F5, the suicide, the scholarship, and the other things you pointed out. If we go by that, it would make sense for Cabir to be in love with an older woman.

Oh, I never thought of it from Madhubala POV. You're right. That did happen there with RK. Like I said it's a mixed potpourri! But it's nice so far. I want to see Cabir's side more. I wanna know what goes behind a guy who likes to sleep next to his mother at night turn into such a sadistic monster come dawn. It's interesting.

Wow, this is amazing. It's like a little DEK reunion here. Although I never really participated in that forum but yay! Looking forward to being around here and hopefully reading your daily analysis here too! :)

I can never re-watch DEK. As much as I love Udayveer and ManVeer feels, the show scarred me badly 😳

Haven't really thought of starting drabbles here 😆 Might as well do it just to get you on my side of the show 😉

Harshad is full of layers. He is not a typical bad boy..the guy has some serious motives behind all his actions. He isn't someone who just blindly uses anyone for his own benefit. He is great to the ones he respects and shrewd for the ones he wants to harm. Clearly the sharpest character of the show. And he is the only one who can tame the Wild Cat Mukti. But their wounds run deep...there's some much unresolved conflict between them.

You know, you be the ONLY one who refers to HYD and not BOF and I effin' love you for that! I never shipped Makino with anyone but Tsukasa but gaaah! Rui gave Tsukasa some serious competition! Oh good..HYD feels being reawakened again!

I am waiting patiently for you to be here in full swing! 😛
