Chapter 1.3 Word Count: 760 words

"Why did you agree, Nandu?" Dhruv asked, as he helped her pack up her boxes.

"Alya is my sister Dhruv. You love her, and so do I. I would do anything for her," Nandini told him.

"Yeah, but Manik isn't nice. He's a Monster. He'll hurt you," Dhruv said.

"I have you to protect me. You'd do anything for Alya, including protecting her 10 minute older sister," Nandini told him. Dhruv sighed, but nodded. "Don't worry Dhruv, everything will be fine." Suddenly Chachi came rushing in.

"Arre Nandu, do you have everything? It was so nice of Mr. Malik to offer his house to us, while Alya is in the hospital," Chachi said. Nandini and Dhruv shared a look. Chachi didn't know about the deal that Nandini had made with Armaan, and they were planning on hiding it as long as they could. Suddenly they hear a truck outside, and realized that it was time to finally move.

"I can't believe, we're leaving this house," Nandini said, softly. Dhruv squeezed her hand.

"Don't worry, you would have been living with me anyway, when Alya and I get married, I would have forced you to move with us anyway," Dhruv told her.

"Actually Dhruv..." Nandini started off.

"Come one guys, what is taking you so long?" Chachi said, coming back into the house. "Everything has been packed. Hurry up!" Nandini and Dhruv just nodded, and followed Chachi out.

As Nandini entered the mansion, she was shocked to know that Dhruv lived in such extravagant house.

"I feel so out of place," Nandini said. She was wearing a kurti and jeans, and felt really underdressed.

"You'll fit right in, just ignore Manik," Dhruv said.

"Easy for you to say. He's your best friend, and the whole point of this is that I'm his PA, meaning personal assistant," Nandini told him.

"Just relax, Nandu," Dhruv said. "Come on I'll show you where you'll be staying." Nandini nodded and followed him up the stairs. Dhruv gave her a quick tour of the house.

"Dhruv, I'll just go to the bathroom," Nandini said.

"Yeah, it's down the hall to the right," Dhruv told her. Nandini nodded, and followed his directions. She opened the door and stepped in...straight into a warm and solid figure. She immediately froze. If Armaan wasn't home, and Dhruv was outside, it could only mean one thing.

"Who the hell are you?!" he growled.

"Uh...the door was unlocked...I...bye!" Nandini said, rushing out. She quickly found Dhruv again. "What have I done?"

"What's wrong Nandu?" Dhruv asked, concerned.

"Dhruv, what was I thinking agreeing to this?"

"What did Manik do?" Dhruv growled.

"Nothing...I just walked into him, literally walked straight into him, in the bathroom. He was shirtless. And mad," Nandini told him. Dhruv made to go. "It's fine Dhruv, this is probably the best of it. I might as well get used to it."

"You don't have to do this," Dhruv said.

"Actually she does," Armaan said, coming up to them. "We have a deal. Manik for Money."

"This may just be the worst thing I've ever agreed to," Nandini mumbled.

"BHAI!" someone yelled from upstairs.

"Oh god!" Nandini exclaimed and hid behind Dhruv. Dhruv chuckled, while Armaan just shook his head.

"Yes, Manik?" Armaan asked.

"Who the hell is this? And what is she doing in this house?" Manik demanded.

"She is called Nandini, and she will be your new personal assistant," Armaan told him.

"WHAT? This...commoner. What happened to Sara?" Manik asked him, confused and surprised.

"She's gone. She wasn't efficient enough," Armaan said. "This is no commoner. She is going to be your new PA. Whatever you want, whenever you want. Only in the office."

"How can...this person...be my assistant? She's so...plain, and I'm not," Manik complained.

"Stop it Manik. She's not plain. She's one of the nicest people ever, and you will not be mean to her," Dhruv snapped at Manik. Manik was surprised, Dhruv never snapped at him.

Dhruv never speaks to me like that. This is the first time, and it's all because of this...commoner. I will make her life hell! Manik thought.

"Fine. Come on, we have a job to do," Manik finally gave in. "Bring the bags." Nandini looked at where he was pointing and quickly gathered everything she needed. Dhruv went to help her, but she stopped him.

"This is my job now. I'll do it," she said. Dhruv just grimaced. He couldn't believe that Nandini had agreed to do this. He was going to protect her from Manik, at all costs.

Okay, so there you are. Finally MaNan interaction. God Manik is such a monster. We'll be seeing for of Monster Manik for now, but don't worry there will be plenty of MaNan moments. We'll also be meeting a new, not-so-great character next chapter. I hope you guys like the DhruNi friendship, as there is going to be A LOT it.
