Iqbal Khan is known as the rugged handsome guy from STAR Plus serials Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai and Karam Apnaa Apnaa. But, he has currently taken a break from work to spend quality time with his wife, Sneha. We caught up with the actor and asked him what it takes to maintain his dashing good looks.
Clothes brand: I don't go in for a particular brand. I buy anything that fits and suits me.
Jeans: Diesel. The fit of the new Diesel jeans is really good. They are slightly narrow from the bottom and look great.
Electronic gadget: I'm a seeda sadha guy and I'm not into electronics. I use a Nokia N72 phone but I don't look at all the features before buying one. I should be able to call and SMS. That's it.
Sun glasses: They are something that I love! I have many pairs (though not as many as Zayed Khan!), about 10 to 12 in brands like Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Prada and Police.
Hair care: I use Tigi Bed Head's Hair Pudding when I'm working and shooting. Otherwise I need my hair normal with no products in it.
Accessory: I like my wallet. It's really big and has lots of things that I fit in like my pan card, license and business cards. I don't keep pictures in my wallet.
Shoes: I like light shoes. I mainly wear these light and trendy Diesel shoes, they are like formal sneakers. I buy them for Rs 1500 to Rs 2000. I have about 6-7 pairs of brown formal shows, 6-7 pairs of black formal shoes not to mention some boots and other pairs. I hardly wear any of them unless I'm shooting. I don't think I should buy any more and thinking about it I feel I'll give half of them away now! I don't think its right to waste money or keep things that you aren't using.
Where do you shop the most?
I shop very rarely. Usually when my wife is going out shopping I tag along with her. On the tenth time we go out I might pick up something for me. It all depends on whether I find something worthwhile. There is no specific place I like to shop.
Most expensive fashion item bought?
I'm not a very fashionable person! I bought a Hyundai Accent two years ago. That was the most expensive thing I've bought and it isn't even completely mine yet. I'm still paying off the loan.
The item which had most value for money?
I think it's been my laptop. It's a brand new HP. I'm not very tech savvy but it's some new model. It was really expensive but it's also really useful and it helps me a lot.
Wardrobe must have: Personally for me I love wearing semi-formal shirts with jeans. I think all guys should have jeans and round neck t-shirts.
Style secret: I'm not stylish. The character I portrayed in my serial was slightly "with it" but in my personal life I'm a regular jeans and t-shirt guy.
What do you over spend on?
Nothing. I don't over spend. I believe it's wrong to waste money just because you have it.
What do you think you look the best in?
I shouldn't be asked this question, someone else should answer it. But I guess I look best in jeans and a shirt.
Style icon: Sanjay Dutt. He was in my school though he was about 15 or 20 years senior to me. I also like the way Rocky S designs for film heroes. He dressed Hrithik in Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham and Saif Ali Khan in a few films as well as Jimmy Shergill. His clothes for men in the films are very nice, trendy, classy yet funky.
