Hey guys,
Angad is one character that has many sides to him. Even though his character seems to be shallow, I will make an attempt to think from his point of view. I am not trying to say that Angad is right in whatever he is thinking or doing right now, but I am bringing his feelings out! A while back I had analyzed his character in depth when he was sailing ecstatically in the boat in love. I would like to continue to that…
Angad was joyfully sailing with his love, but suddenly a storm came along. They were hoping that everything would turn normal, but what did they know that this storm would turn their lives around. Several lies, deceits, and assistance in adversity worked like a charm in separating Angad from his love, Kripa.
Angad was separated temporarily from his love, but few minutes of being apart from his beloved gave his so called 'family' enough time to brainwash him. While sailing with Angad, Kripa came to know that her father needed her and so she worryingly went to him with a strange feeling in her heart. Angad was alone and this gave time to his family to strip his feelings for her, but not completely. His family took advantage of the chaotic condition and infused and installed his brain with false proofs and wrong images.
Suddenly everything seemed to have a different outlook from his view---he suspected and allowed disgust and hatred to penetrate within him. He was penned with shock and was surrounded by narrow enclosures. We observe that the shadow casts in his life because of his deprivation of understanding. Suddenly the air was permeated with severe accusations and resentment which had invaded his mind.
He would think to himself: Our love was not diminished by distance or time, but by imprisonment of your disloyalty, by suffering of my love for you. Why couldn't she be indulgent to my sincere feelings? I thought we would live in harmony and swing in melody, but what did I know that your tunes were played differently. You were the one who was bound to my triumph earlier and then caused rains of disaster through your pretense. I wish the spell of loneliness in my heart disappeared because I'm dying each minute and no one can understand my anguish that is burning within me. She is unworthy, unfit for my love, but my heart still weeps for her. I feel the most terrible when I see her infidelity in front of my eyes---the disgrace I inflict upon her makes me cry in solitude.
His love for her appeared to have dissolved after seeing her with someone else repeatedly. But we knew better than that---could such strong love just drain down totally? If so, we wouldn't see his heart weeping in grief and utter torture that he is going through. He is just unwilling to come to terms with his heart because of his ego. There might be dust filled in his heart and so I he can't understand his feelings, but it won't be long before he perceives everything with a clear and loving heart.
Suddenly he was leading life in abandonment without giving his loved ones a chance to influence his heart. He permitted to think against his heart and towards his mind. His mind just seems to be running on one track---that Kripa was unfaithful to him and she destroyed his life. It doesn't even occur to him once that he might be wrong and that she might have her reasons for lying to him.
Lets not forget that every heartbreak, every defeat, every loss shatters a human. Then even every sun seems to bring bitterness and moon reflects darkness filled in the heart. He has lost his senses and self-worth, which is a tragedy. His whole identity is crushed with a broken heart. He is moving, but heading towards desolation and isolation only. In private he grief's, but in public he tries to triumph and not mourn. The pain goes mercilessly beyond our powers of feeling. Nothing matters to him anymore; everything seems worthless to live for.
He embarrasses the intimacy that he shared with his love in front of others---reason for him to do that is because he has lost trust in himself. Hatred is turning fatal for him by making himself rigid to real emotions for which he is drowning in the depths of sorrow and unhappiness. The pain is inevitable, but the suffering frame was optional—and he chose that. We might fail to see his wounds, which is due to his lack of wisdom. All we hope is that the misery and separation flies away on the wings of time.
Once again I'm not supporting Angad's action, but rather just showing what might he be feeling as well. There is a saying "Love is like a puzzle. When you're in love, all the pieces fit but when your heart gets broken, it takes a while to get everything back together." Let me know if you guys agree or disagree.
