Gauri tops UK course Farhana Farook Tuesday, July 18, 2006 18:27 IST
The actor will appear for the next psychotherapy exam in December.
Actor Gauri Pradhan is not just about glamour and glitz. Recently, the gritty Gauri appeared for an exam for a correspondence course in psychotherapy (from an institute in London) and topped it. She states ecstatically, "I had hardly studied for 15 days. I have completed one year of the course. I got involved in my show and couldn't appear for the next exam. Hopefully, I will appear in December." Where husband and actor Hiten Tejwani is concerned, the duo makes for a perfect poster couple. Much loved in shows 'Kutumb' and 'Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', they have been roped in for 'Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai' too. Gauri quips, "Even Ektaa says that she can't keep us away for long." Though a prolific party goer, Gauri confesses, "I am an introvert and a homebird. I love to read. Presently I am reading Chitra Bannerji's 'Mistress of Spices' and 'Vine of Desire'." Ask her how it's to have her husband as co-star and she says with pride, "I enjoy working with him because we share great chemistry. Also coming from a theatre background he's a much better actor than I am." On the personal front, she adds, "I have a bad temper. But Hiten is calm. I have mellowed down being with him." But she's quick to point, "My strength lies in my level-headedness. I am very sure about myself. If he has brought caring in my life I have added stability to his." Talking about their dreams together Gauri reveals, "It was our dream to have a beautiful house and we now have one at Malad." She also reveals their desire to have a baby soon. And what would be the ideal traits she'd wish in him? "Hiten's nature and my intelligence," she shoots candidly. |
