Popularity Matters

hey!

THis might turn out to be a very contervisal post but i just want to see your views on it. 😃These are just my views.Sorry in advance if it hurts anyone.

In the 7 months i have been on "IF" i have come to a conclusion. I concluded that people only give the time of day to people who have more popularity amoung the forum. People who are yet to be well know get dont get respected as much.

Popularity matters, because it will make your post succede. I am not saying everybody but some people look at the name of the post and think, is this post worth my time?, does this person create good and sensible posts. So even if a Newbie had a good post we just kind of overlook it as being a worthless post. Thats why its hard for a newbie to become well known.

So this lesson is for the newbies and everybody else who makes posts to trick people or to make a joke. If you make worthless posts you will have a repution as an "Attention Seeker" and the next time when you do have a good post it will get overlooked as being another Rubbish post by the "attention seeker".

I am not sure if what i just said described all of you. But i know for one thing it described me. I know this makes me kind of a hypocrite. But it's just what i do. I look at the name of the post and ask my self is worth my time.

So people, Make good and sensible posts so you will have a good reputaion. Dont make rubbish posts. Try to start healthy disscuioms because being well known matters.

I think you're right Neelu!! We all do that.. even though we might not be aware of it!!

We need to remember that we were newbies too at one time.. and that we need to give the new people the respect they deserve!!

You are absolutely right !!!

Some very early impressions are formed by a few posts so after a few bad posts the reputation goes down and vice versa, for the star members of this forum.

I hate when people do that to my post, (which is often) so placing others in my shoes, I read other people's posts.

Yup u r right nd i always try my best to c each nd every post but sometime when its not on first page nd i dont have time to search anything so it would be left out.
