Brilliant Analysis Nitu. Absolutely Awesome, as usual. Trying to live up to your high standards is already giving me a case of writers anxiety.
My humble take on yesterday's episode (be warned…..its gonna be a long one……….too many thoughts running through my head).
We had wondered when Kripa would slap Zaib, as she had slapped everyone else in the show, and yesterday she delivered……two mental slaps and one tight, solid one.
Kripa's mental slaps = 2…….Zaib = I've lost count.
Zaib had become complacent in his latest victories against Kripa and the dude wasn't expecting to be blindsided by Kripa….never had he considered the thought of Kripa fighting back…….I don't know why though, as Kripa has always been feisty. My poor baby Angad, I don't know what shocked him more…..the announcement that Kripa was in charge of his concerts or hearing Prithvi call her Mrs Kripa Bose……sure, he called her that, but always as a taunt, always as a means of mocking her. For the first time since A-K fight club began, Kripa has come out fighting. It makes fight club all the more exciting, all the more chemical and electrifying to have both of them giving it their best, trying to out smart each other at every turn, now doesn't it!!! Sparks are gonna fly!!!
KYPH's director sure knows a good thing when he sees it and makes Iqbal's ability to emote to the max, panning in on his face, focusing on his eyes as the emotions flow across his face and reflect in his eyes……the shock, the confusion and the banked fury at Kripa's stunt.
Kripa flushed, filled with smugness at her victory against Angad, she might be small in stature, but the lady sure knows how to pack a punch, doesn't realize one thing……….you can't keep a good thing down for long, and if there's one thing you can bank on, its that Zaib / Angad is darn good!!! Kripa may have blindsided him this once, but rest assured, he's not going to let it happen again so easily. He was back to his cocky, confident self when she confronted him again in his hotel room (I'm assuming), playing the disinterested party to her words, more interested in sending a sms (to me, I might add….hee…hee….) 😳 , but Kripa who was still basking in her victory gave him no heed and forged on ahead, telling him how she was going to reveal that he was indeed Angad, that the face and the voice will never lie, she kept calling him Angad, much to his irritation. As for Zaib, silence speaks louder than words, and the cold fury and determination in Zaib's eyes promised swift and hard retribution for her daring to challenge him……Kripa, my dear lady……..if you play with fire you're bound to get burned.....…unless getting close to Angads….ahem……flame is what she wants.
Poor Prithvi…..NOT!!! Above everything that's wrong in his life i.e. his marriage to Kripa, he gets arrested for dealings with the Dubai underworld, and is now accused of being a fraud…….and it's going to be all downhill from here………Every dog has its day, and Prithvi's number has been called….by Zaib. In his quest to get back at Kripa, he hit Prithvi where it hurts, his business, and he will slowly but surely destroy the man, much to my pleasure. As Prithvi and Mishty turned a accusatory eye to Kripa for all the botched job of the ticket sales, Zaib strolls in, at first not looking all that happy, but as Mishty once again took off on Kripa, he was basking in his glory, his smile a mile wide. Once again, Zaib to the rescue, stating that they should open the ticket booths, as the tickets will sell, as his fans have faith in him, as he has faith in his fans, and after all despite the debacle of management, they are here to see their star, they are here to see ZAIB!!! What a mental slap. Poor Kripa could feel the sting from all the way across the room.
Mishty and Prithvi might as well have not been in the room as they are mere pawns to be used in Angad and Kripa's battles, when they deem fit. It's either that or they use the Bose siblings as convenient shield when they want to get at each other. Prithvi, right now is willing to bow at Zaib's feet. Angad has got him where he wants him and like a puppet master will pull Prithvi's strings to get him to dance to his tune.
The third set was r-o-c-k-i-n-g!!! and then some. Emotion filled to the brim. Starts with Zaib rifling through his clothes, trying to decide what to wear for the show…..Just a quick mention……I caught a glimpse of the black Harley Davidson leather jacket, and I do wish that he wears it a gain, cause he sure cuts a fine figure in it…….only to have a photo of Kripa fall from amongst the pile…..how telling is it that he still carries her picture with him. Sigh!
Picking up the photo, Angad ponders on the cruel twist of fate, where he now cries and hates this Kripa, when he once dreamt of building castles in the sky with the Kripa of his past………..Angad, baby doll, deep down inside you and I both know that she is still the same Kripa. Circumstances might have changed, yet your love for her and hers for you still remains and will always be there till the end of times.
The photo leads him to have a wonderful flashback of happy mango type days, in which they were both happily in love, carefree and so sure that they would stand together to conquer the world………and once again we were led into Angad's private memories, being spectators to their love for each other…….a love so innocent, so pure, so good, so true……a love that changes a persons life, like Angad said…..a love that defines ones character………..
This flashback once again reminded me that Angad is always the one touching Kripa, holding her, hugging her, kissing her……lucky woman. The flashback showed Angad flirting with her, her teasing him, him trying to take a picture while she makes funny faces at the camera, ending in a touching conversation where he tells her that the never loved anyone besides her and her telling him that she doesn't need photo's to remember him by, that he was in her heart and mind and that nothing and no one would separate them……….
And as we bared witness to this love, this innocence, this carefree teasing, it warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes……..tears of joy at their happiness……tears of sadness at innocence lost.
Angad vows to destroy her, yet acknowledges that in doing this, he will destroy himself because he loves her…..despite hating her, he loves her. And in the aftermath of this bitter-sweet stroll down memory lane, Kripa enters, catching him in a vulnerable state, telling him that his time has come…..and Angad, wiping away the remnants of his tears, does the only thing, in his books, that he can…..he lashes out at her, he taunts her. He berates her about her manners, or lack there off, as she didn't knock before entering his room…..unless of course she wanted to see him with less clothes on…..as they did spend a night together ,and it definitely wasn't boring!
And as all the conflicting emotions flow through him, he continues onwards, saying that she need not be shy after what they did, and goes on to rage about their night together, telling her how could she forget……after all it was so much fun, they had such a good time!!! Humph!!!! I was not impressed!!! To have him trivialize their night together, the night they re-affirmed their love for each other as if it were a mere fling. And Kripa retaliates by gifting him with a tight, stinging slap…..and rightly so, I say……..I know he was hurting, but his attempt to soil the memory of their night together!!!!………..low blow, Angad…..very low blow.
And when Kripa slapped him, I could fleetingly see a hint of "understanding" for lack of a better word, as if he didn't fault her for the slap……though how he will react to it is to be seen tonight!!!
