10-year Old becomes the World's Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional
Girja Waghmare, a 10-year-old student of class five, has cleared the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) examination online to become the youngest one in the world to get it. She scored 985 marks out of 1,000 in designing and implementing desk-top applications, visual basic 6.0 examination.
Before her, 12-year old Akshay Zadgaonkar became the youngest MCP. Also, 13-year old Kanan Totawar became the youngest girl to clear the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MSCD) examination.
Brazil wins Soccer World Cup for a record fifth time
Brazil won the FIFA Soccer World Cup 2002 for a record fifth time in Yokohama on 30th June, when they defeated Germany 2-0 in the finals. The hero of the match was Brazil's main striker, Ronaldo, who scored both the goals to secure a historic win for his country.
Iqbal Aka Angad to act opposite Aishwarya
Mumbai: Indian actor Iqbal Aka Angad has finally landed the role of a lifetime. Producer/Director Rakesh Roshan has chosen Iqbal Aka Angad to act opposite Aishwarya Rai in his upcoming film A Suitable Boy. Iqbal Aka Angad was thrilled to bits when he was told about this role and the fact that Rakesh Roshan had chosen him for the role in preference over his own son Hrithik Roshan. Aishwarya Rai told the media that Iqbal Aka Angad is not just a "wonderful person" but also a "very accomplished actor". That sure is a rare compliment from the fastidious actress. A pleased Iqbal Aka Angad called up Rakesh Roshan to thank him and said that he hoped that this would not spoil his relations with his son Hrithik. Iqbal Aka Angad has so far acted in movies against Karishma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and Tabu. At a press conference in Mumbai, Iqbal Aka Angad said" I admire Aishwarya Rai a lot for her energy and dedication and good humour. I so desperately wanted to act opposite her and I am excited at landing this role."

US film star John Travolta took on a new role but this time not in the movies. The actor has joined the staff of the Australian airline Qantas. Qualified jet pilot Travolta, 48, has undergone flight simulator training in Sydney and in the US city of Seattle to become a First Officer on the Boeing 747-400 Jumbo Jet aircraft. However, Travolta will be no ordinary pilot for the airline now that he has been dubbed its "ambassador-at-large". Instead, he will fly his family around the world on his own Boeing 707 airliner.
