After hitList reported Iqbal Khan's phoney habit at the recently concluded Hero Honda Indian Television Academy Awards (Behind the scenes at TV awards, November 9), the actor called us to make a few clarifications.
According to Iqbal, it was soap queen Ekta Kapoor's call to congratulate him on winning.

Says Khan, "When they declared it, I was about to step on the stage when somebody from Balaji gave me the phone, saying that it's Ekta's call. As I thought she wouldn't make it that evening, I spoke to her. I did not mean to be disrespectful." Now, is Khan trying to be Ekta's new blue-eyed boy? Only the Godmother knows!

Thanks for posting. Yeah, IQ was talking to Ekta indeed. still, he shouldn't have taken the call at that time, it's against reagrd, respect and etiquette. But I guess, IQ is too much of a sweetheart.

He would rather keep his job safe than defy etiquette.All of us would do that right? I am sure if he had not taken the call there would have been another article saying Iqbal Khan was rude to God Mother Ekta Kapoor.

Hmmm I guess Iq must be so excited at the moment that he din know what the hell he's doing and if the person who gave him the job called up, the person who is in a distant way responsible for the award then i guess he was like what the hell, lemme talk with "Boss." As for etiquette, I dun think he must have even thought at it. He is not a veteran like SRK at picking up awards at every imaginable award function, so he must be flustered at receiving his first ever award and therefore reacted spontaneously.

Iqbal is very famous as Angad and a very good actor and i dont think Ekta can throw him out so easily.It wont be easy for her to replace.
He should have been careful ...its just what I feel.
