Hi Guys
I don't know if this has been posted already, if so, I apologise.
This weekend, I finally caught up on a week and a half's worth of JJKN episodes and was eager to see how they were going to work Zaib into the storyline for the fashion show.
Well, all enjoyment at this aspect went down the drain in the midst of all the blatant inconsistencies that I saw.
Lets go through them one by one shall we. (Since this involves Zaib, I thought it fine to post here).
1) When Jassi is talking to Nandu and their designer Charles (Who, in my books is an attempt at creating another Maddy) about getting a star to wear their clothes during the fashion show, she shows them a newspaper article which features on Zaib….The photo is the one from Angad and Kripa's Rabba Rabba song in their fist concert!!! Kripa and Zaib have never performed together….in fact, Kripa hasn't performed for a year now, not since Angad was sent to jail!! Couldn't they have just taken a still on Zaib and glued it onto the newspaper, they way the newspapers were doctored in KYPH, in the days when Naina was in the habit of flinging the newspapers at Angad's feet??? Apparently that would have taken too much time and effort!!!
2) In KYPH Zaib's manager is a man, so where did this lady come from??? If she's just a secretary, how come she has the authority to makes such decisions, like which contract Zaib signs??? As far as I can tell, Zaib did Prithvi's concert for free (o.k, given he had his own agenda) but all indication is that Zaib does what he wants so where did this sudden greed come from. Where did the bit where his services are sold to the highest bidder come from???
3) When Jassi and Nandu go to Angad's….umm…Zaib's office (Zaib has an office in India????) to seek an audience with the satr himself, the walls are covered with vintage Angad posters, the now classic stance with the guitar, cross around his neck, signature leather jacket, pitch black hair….Umm…Zaib has highlights in his hair, wears a headband, doesn't wear a cross, instead he wears a chain with the number five (the significance of which still eludes me). has a French beard, for Goodness sake!!! With all those angad posters around, one is to be forgiven for thinking of Angad instead of Zaib. Couldn't Kekta Maai rustle up some posters of Zaib for the occasion…oh, sorry, I forgot….that would have been too much of an effort!!!
4) SINCE WHEN IS ZAIB AN INDIAN POP ICON????? As far as I know, he is a star in his own right in Dubai….I mean, had he been an Indian Pop Icon, wouldn't the Trolly Prolly gang, along with brain-dead Kripa and the now blushing debutant Mishty, have know about him. After all, they are in the same industry…wouldn't they have known of him….but in KYPH, they had no clue as to just who Zaib was!!! If they needed to write him into JJKN for the fashion show, they could have used the success of the Dubai show produced by a well known Mumbai event management company, to explain his star status in India!!!
Don't get me wrong here, I love JJKN to bits, just as I love KYPH….my bone of contention with this whole thing was that if they were going to do a cross-over like this, the two production houses should have gotten their respective writing teams together for a tte--tte to iron out all the kinks….they should have worked out all the prospective bloopers before shooting, as KYPH fans (if they didn't already watch JJKN), would tune in to see Zaib!!!
This, I hope is what Ekta will use in KYPH to explain why Zaib is going to be in India….hopefully we'll get that bit of consistency, instead of a completely different trumped up reason.
On the up side: Zaib was looking Fiinneee!!! In that ensemble, the electric blue shirt and the black / navy pants and jacket….he cleans up nicely, I must say.
On an even brighter side (for me at least), he was SANS headband!!! Yippee!!! For Me!
