Hey everybody. I'm back.😃 I'm supposed to be studying right now, but kya karoon, can't seem to stay away from you guys.🤗
Today's episode was so-so. These days, I'm trying to tune out the unpleasant aspect of having to see our Angoo baby in imprisonment and am just biding the time till the 12th. When the fireworks will start, btw, have a query about that, but it can wait. On to the episode for now.
The episode started with wicked Prithvi and clueless Kripa going to power and fame loving lawyer, Manak Baseen. This character so does not impress me btw. And his supposedly hip'n'happening entry yesterday was anything but.
Anyways, he puts on a lot of airs and graces about being booked solid for the next four years and not having time to take Angad's case. And in reply to Prithvi's assertion that money wasn't a problem, he stated that he was willing to find them an alternate lawyer and to pay him twice what they were prepared to pay him, to boot. Hmph.
Anyways, Kripa showed some shrewdness for once and instead of resorting to the role of the drama queen that she has perfected to an art, she reasoned with him level-headedly. Trying to entice him to take the case by pointing out practically that Angad was a superstar with millions of fans and widespread fame and popularity. This finally got through to the wannabe big time celebrated lawyer and he acquiesced to take the case.
Kripa left and that was when Prithvi decided to display his true colours again. Apparently he knew Manak and instructed him to take the case but then abandon it the last stages of the case, claiming that he couldn't represent a fraudulent defense case, thus very effectively implicating Angad in Josh's murder. Prithvi managed to convince Manak that this would bring him even more popularity and acclaim as the guy who wouldn't compromise on his principles and refused to fight false cases. Yeah right!!!
All I wanted to do at that moment was to hunt down the bright red slippers he'd worn in his big 'entry' yesterday and smack him with them. Hard!😡 How can anyone be so immoral? As you can see, I've now started taking a more pro-active approach towards ppl I don't like in the show.😛
Cut to Kripa going to visit Angad in jail, with the devious duo in tow. And we got to see Angad behind bars. Ouch!😭 Kripa holds his hands through the bars, while a seething Prithvi looks on, and assures Angad that they would get him out. They leave and then followed the scene of the day; Angad standing there, bathed in this blue light from a barred window, remembering happy moments spent with Kripa while the song, "Jo tum nahin pass, phir pass ho kaisay", played in the background. I like that song. It's the trademark song that always plays when they are apart from each other and thinking about the other. Sigh! It was so sad to see the Angad of now, especially while comparing him to the happy, carefree Angad of the earlier days. So much has happened to him, so many changes wrought in his life. And while Angad was lost in his memories, Kripa was lost in her thoughts of him too, praying for him.
The second set started outside the courthouse with a shackled Angad being brought up by the police. I really felt for the poor guy. Have you ever actually seen somebody in manacles? I have, during a school trip to the Lahore High Court during my A-levels. And it was horrible. Poor Angoo baby, being treated like a common criminal. Anyways, Kripa goes up to him while the ever-present and ever-watchful Prithvi looks on resentfully. Angad is taken away and Prithvi and Manak give false assurances to Kripa about Angad being all right and his soon being set free.
Then followed the worst courtroom scene I've ever watched🤢 with Manak totally botching up the defense. Idiot Manak. And while he was sitting there, messing everything up, we were treated to Prithvi sporting his brilliantly evil looks. The last scene of the second set was what made me feel the worse for Angad. Because guess who the star witness for the prosecution was??? …………..Aaliyah!!! The only word to describe Angad's reaction to seeing her standing there in the opposite stand was, thunderstruck. The poor guy looked utterly flabbergasted! And when the prosecutor asked Aaliyah if things between Angad and Josh had deteriorated so badly that he'd threatened to kill him, she answered yes. And also denied having any knowledge of the alleged patch up between the two friends. Which she didn't technically. And she did also technically hear Angad threaten to kill Josh. But what really got to me was that she'd known this guy her entire life. He was her brother, for God's sake! So I guess what I'm saying is that what she said under oath was 'technically' correct but I feel that she shouldn't have agreed to be a witness in this case. Because in displaying her loyalty to Josh, she also inadvertently showed her disloyalty to Angad.
The third set opens with Aaliyah crying and saying sorry to Angad who just stood there with hurt and confusion written all over his face, clear for everyone to see. While Prithvi could be seen gloating over everything that went wrong for Angad during the hearing😡.
Manak made to cross-examine Aaliyah but Angad checked him, saying that she was his sister and that he didn't her being asked any questions. Sigh!!!!!!
Manak sat down and told Kripa, who was sitting in the pew behind him, in stage whispers that nothing could be done now. Something that Kripa adamantly refuted and told him to try his best to get Angad acquitted.
Cut to a scene outside the courthouse with Kripa, Prithvi and Manak Baseen. Manak basically created a drama in front of Kripa, saying he was dropping the case, since he couldn't represent a criminal like Angad and a lot of crap like that. To which Kripa replied back fierily that Angad was innocent and that she would continue in her quest to see him freed.
Manak stalks off and Kripa does what she's best at…turning to Prithvi. I'm telling you guys, Kripa needs to stop flinging herself at Prithvi at the first speck of trouble on the horizon. He's messed up enough, as it is, this will just encourage him further.
Cut to Kripa, using her net savvy to locate another lawyer for Angad…on "google!!!"
So basically we had yet another new character. Some wannabe cool dude, in a red leather jacket, who is surrounded by girls fawning all over him in his drunken state and who basically tells Kripa to "Buzz Off!!!!!" when Kripa very persistently shows up in a bar to ask him to take Angad's case.
End of Episode!
And my God. The preview. I wanted to fly inside my TV screen and strangle Prithvi😡😡😡 Because you know what Prithvi was shown telling wicked woman (Simone, btw)
Prithvi said that it was only the matter of a single night and then the fear of losing Kripa would leave his mind. Because tomorrow was the day that Angad and Kripa were supposed to be getting married but that he, Prithvi, had manipulated circumstances to change all that.
Okay. Lets backtrack a bit over here now, ANGAD & KRIPA WERE SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIED TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!😲 Since when. All I heard about this was that line of Prithvi's to Kripa to not fight that close to the big day when A-K had that fight at the latest party. But I thought that was just a fluke.
And knowing that it was true makes me both sad and angry. But anger definitely has the upper hand over here.
Wanted to go slap Prithvi and tell him that weddings could be rescheduled. So fine, he may have botched up this chance of a matrimonial alliance between the two, but Angad and Kripa are meant, fated to be together. So there, Prithvi!!!!!!!!
And now coming back to the query I had about the one-year leap. Angad is going to have:
- Golden streaks Multi-hued hair mascaras Junk jewellery
- A new name…Zeb! (Ugh!)
And God alone knows what not?!?!?!?!?!?!?😕😕😕So where did our old handsome devil Angad go? Although, on the plus side, as a lot of ppl have mentioned, that it appears as if there has been a twist in the alleged storyline and that the dreaded specter of the Kripa-Prithvi marriage will have not materialized even after the leap. God. I really, really hope so. Waiting impatiently for next Wednesday.
Take care everyone!😊
Loads of love,
Amal
