A generation leap, a new film and an 'original' reality show… Ekta Kapoor has a lot going for her. No wonder she walked to Siddhivinayak Temple to seek the Lord's blessings yesterday

Ekta Kapoor attributes the popularity of her shows to Lord Balaji. We have already given you the lowdown on her trip to Tirupati just ahead of her new show going on air. Here's some additional news. Last evening, she walked to Siddhivinayak Temple at Prabhadevi to pray for the success of the Kasauti Zindagi Kay's generation leap episode, which went on air yesterday.

The episodes have been shot at the spanking new set located at the Kilick Nickson Studios at Saki Naka. She explains, "It has been hectic day. Kasauti…'s generation leap episodes are going on air now."

It's a lesser-known fact that the new Balaji set replete with Victorian furniture is the most expensive set erected by the production house. Mom Shobha Kapoor, who has personally supervised the sets, says it took about two months to get it ready. "I have given attention to detailing including fabrics that I got from Dubai. It's the most expensive set that we have."

Not just that, the mother-daughter duo is working on a new film that hits the floors this September, and it's not even the Kya Kool Hai Hum sequel. It will be an out-and-out comedy starring Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav and Anupam Kher. They're presently in talks with Sunil Shetty and if all goes well he will be roped in too. The plot revolves around three funny guys living in a rickety chawl. Finally, they emerge as gangsters.

Ekta has also conceived a reality television show with an original format. Ask her about the present lot of reality telly shows and she says, "They are all good but I hate the norm of borrowing of American formats. I'm having a bunch of reality shows hitting the telly by next year. The first of the lot will only have television actors. And the format is quite original."
