Jyoti Mukerji, sister-in-law of Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, is all set to be back on television after a long maternity break. She was last seen in the SaharaOne show, Prratima, which was produced by her husband, Raja Mukerji, Ranis brother.
It is reliably learnt that she is slated to feature in Film Farm Production Houses new venture for Sony, which also has Aamna Shariff and Cezanne Khan in the cast. Film Farm had earlier produced Tumhari Disha for Zee.
Start afresh
When asked about Jyotis second coming on television, Raja says, Yes, she is looking at being back on the acting scene. It has been a long time that she has been away after Prratima.
Jyoti delivered a baby girl in May 2006. Now that the baby is over eight months old she is keen to begin anew, adds Raja. The babys name Myiesha is an Arabic word which means lifes blessings. We have a Bengali pet name for her Mishti, which means sweet.
So has Jyoti been keen on getting back into shape to face the arc lights yet again?
Yes, she has lost weight and is all set to get back, he says. Immobile
Incidentally, Raja claims that at the moment, both he and Jyoti are leading a life without cell phones.
We were travelling for a while and when we got back we decided to disconnect our connections. Those who want to get in touch with us know where we are so they call us up on our landlines.
We are in the process of acquiring new numbers, says Raja speaking from his production office. This is the reason why Jyoti remained unavailable for comment.
Jyoti earlier featured in serials like Manzilen Apni Apni, Gharaana, Kittie Party and Mulk. On the big screen, she was seen in Maa Santoshi Maa.
Meanwhile, Raja makes his big screen directorial debut with the Bengali film, Bidhataar Lekha. The cast includes Hrishitaa Bhatt, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Jeet, Rupali Ganguli and Abhir Goswami. We have completed the shoot of the film and are busy with post-production, he informs. |
