Queen of television soaps, Ekta Kapoor is in the eye of a storm. She has locked horns with the organisers of the Indian Television |
"She owes us a public apology. She has to do it. She cannot get away with it," said Anu Rajan of Indian Television Academy.
The trouble began a day before the awards function when actors from the Balaji camp refused to perform at the function.
"As far as artists are concerned, their contracts are terminated. They are required to payt back the money they have received. They are also required to pay the amount that has been incurred for substituting the artists and the additional expenses incurred," said Vibhav Krishna, Lawyer, ITA.
The organisers of ITA awards have also challenged Ekta Kapoor to support her allegations with evidence.
While Ekta Kapoor and the ITA trade charges at each other, it is clear this latest controversy could end up showing the television industry in bad light.
