Let me explain a little bit from the earlier episodes.
Sujal (RAjeev) was an outstanding businessman managing the R&G corporate. Kashish belonged to middleclass family with five sisters. She came to work for R&G. There was a sweet like-hate relationship between S & K and gradually they fell in love and confessed to each other too.
Meanwhile Piyush returned from abroad and started to work for R& J. He started to like KAshish too.
Rishi was a flirt from the begining and flirted with Mahek in college who eventually got pregnant. Kahsish protested and warned RIshi, even put him to jail.
Sujal was very fond of his bro Rishi and was confused whom to belive.
Rishi hated Kashish and wanted to take revenge ( he never understood that he was hurting Sujal too whom he really loved) .. VAsu also got involved in this and somehow this evil duo managed to get P engaged and eventually married to k.
K went to her Sagai thinking that Sujal is the bridegroom but only at the cermenoy found out that it was p.
Sujal was brokenhearted. This part of the KTH was best. Rajeev was at his best bringing out the frustation , anger abd despair at the turn of the event.
Sujal left home after P & K wedding and teamed up with Archie ( Urvashi Dholakia) to start anew business,Archie was a childhood friend who was also in love with Sujal.
Eventually Piyush got killed in an accident. K thought that it was Sujal who killed P. She married Sujal and tricked him to jail in a forgery case.
While Sujal was in jail and the trial was going on K found out taht he was innocent.
From then on started the happy part of sujal Kashish romance.
Meanwhile Vasu was convinced that SUjal was the killer of P and Sujal was arrested once again with the murder charge.
during all this perid Akshat , an old friend of K joined Sujal's new business and always supported Sujal In fact he played a big role in reuniting S and K. Akshat was a lawyer and always fought SUjal's cases.
Akshat and charu had a sweet love affair.
Sujal was proved to be innocent in the second case and Archie with an evil girl Sanya were the real killers of P.
Meanwhile Sawyam , elder brother of Akshat and their mother Reva appeared in the scene. Sawam played a negative role because he wanted to take revenge on GArewals.
Chetan Garewal's old love was Reva and they were secretly married. Akshat and Sawam were both Chetan's sons and step bro of Sujal and Rishi.
Sujal was shattered after hearing this and wanted Veena not to know about this. As K somehow sympathised with Akshat , Sujal and K had a fight and K left home.
There were some fightings and confusions and Sujal (rajeev) was beaten and thrown over the bridge ) in fact the goons thought they were beating Rishi as S was using Rishi's car and Sawaym had ordered them to kill Rishi.
At that poit Sujal was going to reunite with Kashish and that;s why K saw the accident.
Here Rajeev left the show and Gurpreet entered, and therefore Sujal had to change the face.
Hope I have satisfied you to some extent and proved how imporatant was Rajeev's role.

Thanks for liking it . I stopped watching KTH regularly after Rajeev left so here might not be very accurate , but even them I will give it a try.
Kashish, rishi and rest of the family were devastated after Sujal's apparent death. They even found a body and Sawam thru fake report showed that it was Sujal's body.Kashish built a hopital in Sujal's memory.
Far away in Delhi a man was found near a riverbed. He was taken to a hospital and treated. Even treated for plastic surgery. The lady doctor assisting the chief plastic surgeon became very fond of this new person who has lost his memory too. After removing face bandages, Gurpreet took over. The lady doctor whose name was Archita literally fell in love with the patient and named him Tushar. Archita was offered a job in Simla ( Sujal Memorial hospital). She came to Simla and Tushar accompnied her too. Archita was family friend of Akshat. Tushar did not recognize anything in Simla, neither Veena, Nor th Garewals . Only when he met Kashish , He realized that he loved Kashish . He became obsessed woth Kashish.
There was some property problem and conflict of Garewals and Sawam. For some solution Kashish agreed to marry Sawam. Akshat did not want that and he and Kashish faked a romance and planned to marry in a year.Whne Charu heard this , she was shocked and started to hate them. She got attracted towards Tushar.
Tushar loved Kashish. Kashish engaged to Akshat . Charu loved Akshat. She felt betrayed and turned towards Tushar. Sawyam helped Charu to sleep with Tushar for one night and fake a pregnancy. When Kashish came to know this , she arranged the marriage between Charu and Tushar.
Somewhere down, KAshish got engaged to Swaym too but the marriage never materilzed.
At this point , by looking at signatures and then verifying from the hospital Sawyam realized that Tushar was actual Sujal. But he hid this information from everyone.
Instead he brought in a fake Sujal aka Tapori Raghu played by Iqbal Khan. That was real fun.Raghu stayed with the GArewals but could never sleep with Kashish.
Meanwhile Tushar was very upset and tried to prove taht this Sujal was fake. He even spent one night with Kashish.
Raghu was eventually killed by Sawam and after some fighting Tushar got back his memory - of Sujal.
But he stayed married to Charu as Kashish insisted on that.
There started the Charu- Sujal - kashish triangle which continued till Charu's death. During this time the Ahluwalia and the whole gang entered the show. Sawyam, Akshat and Reva were banished away.
And one more thing, as far as I know Kashish was never divorced from Sujal , so by the Indian law she is still the legal wife of Sujal.
