| You've seen me before... I've done loads of ads—VIP Frenchie, Haywards and Digjam to name a few, and I've featured in a music video by Abhijit Pohankar. I'm also acting in two films, Madhubala and Bhay, both directed by Shivram Yadav. This is my television debut... Kahiin To Hoga is my first serial and possibly my last. That is, if my career in films takes off.
I had auditioned for Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai on the advice of a friend. Although they finalised me for a part, there was a change in the script that made the role redundant. That's when I was offered the part of Sujal, and I jumped at it. Sujal is so me... He's mature and firm with his decisions—qualities I identify with. And although I don't watch much television, I'd heard that he's a popular character, so I thought it would be a good chance to prove myself. I've met Rajeev Khandelwal... I met him on my first day—he was very courteous and wished me luck. And as far as popularity is concerned, all I can say is let's wait and watch. I've hardly spoken to Aamna Sharif... Well, I've spoken to her just once and shot a scene with her. She was very polite and cooperative, I'm looking forward to working with her. You've done a great job, Ekta... I've never met her. But if I ever do, I'd definitely commend her on the great job she's done. Balaji has revolutionised the television industry, and I'm very proud to start my career with them. I had dreams of being a high flier... I had always planned on being a pilot. Acting happened quite by accident. One of my friends told me that I have a nice jawline and emote well, so I should try my hand at modelling. There's been no looking back ever since. My mom is a Balaji bhakt... They're very encouraging. In fact, my mother and sisters watch Kyunki, Kahaani and Kahin Kisi Roz religiously. So they're really looking forward to seeing me on screen. |
