guys its of may5 but havent seen if on the forum hope not posted before na dif its is than my bad.ill deletd it Aamna's 'kashish' for television is too hard to resist |
Aamna Shariff's acting career got rolling a few years ago with Kahiin To Hoga. Viewers were impressed by her immense talent and charming per sonality. A fashion conscious actress, Aamna's clothes in her serial have always been talked about and aped by many youngsters. For almost three years, she has played and lived the role of Kashish in every sense of the term. You started off with a South Indian film. So how did television happen? I actually began my career with modelling. Coming from a conservative family, it wasn't easy for me to break into showbiz. But once the ice was broken, there was no looking back. And yes, I always wanted to become an actor. After I did the South Indian film, I got noticed and received lots of offers to act in serials and Hindi films. I even had to turn down quite a few. One fine day, I got a call from Balaji Telefilms for Kahiin To Hoga, then titled Kashish. I heard my role and was overwhelmed. I was the key link between all the characters. How could I refuse such a meaty role? Ekta called me for the auditions and it took them six months to finalise me. Initially, I hesitated a bit before signing on the dotted line, but, it finally paid off. You had a wonderful on-screen chemistry with Rajeev Khandelwal who played the original Sujal in Kahiin.... Did you have any problem relating to the new Sujal (Gurpreet Singh)? Well, not much. Circumstances were created out in such a way, a gradual building up of a climax leading to Sujal's accident, that it almost seemed convincing not only to me, as well as to the audience. How close are you to Kashish's character? Quite close, I would say! The character is so very real with its own share of highs and lows. There are multiple shades of emotions, which make the viewers relate to her. With television actresses getting bolder, how comfortable are you about doing intimate scenes? I can carry off anything. But of course, I have set some limitations for myself which I wouldn't cross for anything. Unlike Ekta Kapoor's other hit serials, Kahiin To Hoga revolves around a comparatively young crowd. Would you be interested in joining the saas-bahu brigade as well? I don't know. But it is certainly not one of my preferences. Do you have any other projects on hand? Not at the moment! Television is relatively more taxing and stressful, and therefore more challenging. I am doing ads, even today. But for some time, I am not going to accept a new serial; I want to concentrate solely on Kahiin...I certainly aspire to make a splash in Bollywood sooner or later. |
