TALKING POINT with Rajeev Khandelwal | |

From acting, you're now moving towards hosting with Deal Ya No Deal. How are you preparing yourself for this? I'm putting a lot of hard work into this project. I'm also being trained by experts. I had never thought about hosting before and when I was offered this show, I refused it at first. But the producers believed in me, so I agreed. After Kahin To Hoga, your fans only saw you in small roles. My role in Time Bomb was not a small one. It was a different platform and gave me good exposure. Also, my music videos and CID were a good stage for experimentation. Besides, I love taking risks. I don't quite view it as a comeback. I have only been away for five months. I slowed down because for the past three years I had been working non-stop. I have been doing a lot of travelling, spending quality time with my parents and, of course, indulging in adventure sports. I love rafting and trekking. You're also doing a serial with Aamna Sharif. It's too early to speak about the role as we've only shot the pilot. The producers are yet to finalise everything. There's a lot of hype created around this serial because I've been paired with Aamna. It's been long since you worked with Aamna. Do you manage to catch up off-the-sets? Yes, we do. However, the frequency is reduced due to our busy schedules. But we make it a point to be there at each other's special moments. Like I was present at the housewarming of her new home recently. She is a nice girl and knows how to maintain relationships. You've shuffled between different roles, what type of character role is your forte? I think I'm at a very early stage of my career. So it would be too early for me to define any kind of a role as my forte. Are there other serials or films in the pipeline? Right now it's only Deal Ya No Deal and Left Right Left. I will not think about films at least for the next year. Maybe after that. Your exit from Kahin To Hoga was the result of a rift between Ekta Kapoor and you. Do you think it has affected your fan following negatively? I don't think it has affected me or my fans in any way. For all those who think it was a publicity stunt, I just take it as their insecurity speaking for them. I don't even remember Ekta. SOURCE:- Mumbai Newsline |
