The scene of the week this week is from Tuesdays episode when Kinjal is in the kitchen cutting onions and her mother and brother land up. It looks like Kinjal is crying but in reality the onions are just wreaking havoc over her senses. It was a nice family scene that had a bit of drama but then had loads of fun and comedy; which is something that we can all use since the serial is so dramatic (after all, it is Ekta). Kinjal told her mom to give her 15 more minutes to cut the onions. Urmila then says that everyone will go hungry because the food won't be cooked on time. It then takes a turn towards serious waters when Urmila asks if Kinjal is already taking over her spot in the kitchen. Kinjal's quick reply that Urmila is the best and no one can replace. That made the moment a cute mother/daughter moment, and it didn't let the scene turn into a sob fest over Urmila's sickness. Then one of her brothers comes and teases Kinjal some giving us a few laughs. In the end there was a bit between brother and sister about Urmila's treatment, but it showed a great bond between the siblings. It was heart-warming and funny bone tickling scene. It was a nice relief from the drama, rohna-dhona that we are accustomed to.
Let me also say that the Kajal scenes this week were really nice too. Having Kanav stand up for Kinjal was so sweet and nice to watch. And seeing them in the same frame again was a good treat. Lets hope next week we get more Kajal scenes.
"Main bhi ek insaan hoon, koi remote se chalne wala khilona nahin." – Neena
So this is one like that Ms. Neena delivers to Kanav when she is trying to explain herself. It is not a serious line or a meaningful line like I usually have, but this is one hell of a funny line. She compares herself to a remote control toy! Of all the things to chose the picks a toy! Ok, that's fine but the most hilarious and ironic part is when she says that she too is human. Really? That's news to us! By all of her harquats, does it seem like she is a human being? I'd say not. To be human you need a heart, which she has none of. Sure she is trying to protect her husband and marriage, but it's still no excuse. She is using a woman's terminal illness to get a baby from her friend for her husband. Now if that isn't a mouthful! One can only stoop so low until they hit rock bottom, and clearly, Neena is far from that bottom. Lets see how she gets in the up coming weeks.
Shining star of the week is Neena. Now before you all come after me for choosing her, hear me out. Neena in a conniving little twit who is just plain evil, but she pulls it off really good! She does all the little roles very well, its almost like she is Schizophrenic. She plays the role of a good and concerned friend to Kinjal and her mother. She comes off as the saint that is helping in Urmila's treatment out of the goodness of her heart and not because of some ulterior motive. She gets away with calling Urmila 'maa' also, and it sounds like she means it too. She plays the vindictive spoiled brat that her mother raised her to be with great ease as well. She plays the part of bahu and wife pretty well too. Yes, she did have a bit of a break down with her mother-in-law on Monday, but can you blame the girl. I would go mad if my mother-in-law kept pestering me about how to deal with my pregnancy, after all, I am pregnant, not her. However, she quickly recovered when she said that she wants a saasu-maa like her in every janam! She plays the role of selfish, self-centered witch pretty damn well also. She leaves no stone unturned to get what she wants…as they say, 'By all means necessary". She has so many faces, so many shoes to fill, and I think she is doing a great job. Now whether what she is doing in right or not…we all know that answer and that is a whole new topic on its own! But one more thing I must say, the look on Neena's face when Kanav called Kinjal…priceless…it was like she was smacked across her face!
The style icon of this week is Kanav's mom, sorry don't know her name. She wears simple yet classic sari's day in an day out. The colors are very sweet and warm colors that really suit her character. The simple earrings and necklaces that she wears gives it a classic and sophisticated touch. Her hair worn in a bun gives her an air of dignity and poise. She handles herself with much grace and finesse. She is able to handle situations, like the one with Neena when Kanav walks in, with great ease. She didn't so much a break a sweat. She is still very fashionable and modern for her age group. She isn't like other saasu-maa's who think they are still 20 and come all decked up in full make up, jewelry and feel that its ok for them to wear revealing clothing. Kanav's mom, now she has the right look for a mother!
The biggest disappointment of the week had to be the near miss between Kinjal and Kanav. We were so close, so close to having Kinjal find out that Kanav is the father of her baby, but alas, once again we were left hanging. First the nurse teams up with Neena to take the papers out of Kinjal's chart, which just makes us mad, Neena needs to keep out of official hospital matters. Then when Kinjal sees Kanav and assumes that he may be the father of her baby the stupid hotel manager/owner or whoever it was, comes and thanks Kanav for the money donation or something. I didn't pay attention to the words much because I was just so mad that the secret is still just that, a secret. So I guess we have to do more waiting until the truth is out in the open. When will Kanav find his 'baby mamma'? When will Kinjal find out that Kanav is her 'baby daddy'? When will Kajal and baby be a happy family? Knowing Ekta…we have a long, long, long time to wait.
The biggest shocker of the week, do I even need to say, is Kinjal agreeing to give Neena her baby. I was so mad! What happened to the whole speech about the baby's father and all that crap?! Yes I understand that Neena helped with the money for Urmila's treatment and blah blah blah, but really! How can she just give her baby up like that!? Doesn't she love her child? I also understand that the pregnancy wasn't planned or anything, but they always say that when you see your child inside of you, you automatically begin loving it. So what did Kinjal miss? I hope that in length of the pregnancy, Kinjal realizes that she cannot give Neena the baby because she loves her child. The idea is that Kanav-Kinjal-baby will be a happy family, not Kanav-Neena-baby!
