Television stars may know the meaning of their real names but what about some of their weird on-screen names. We quizzed some of them and here is what we got.
Parivaa (Manya - Salaam Zindgi)
"I know the meaning of my name because Manya is my 3 year old niece's name. It means Pride of the house. I like the name of my character since I am close to my niece."
Wasna Ahmad (Dhara - Kasauti Zindagi Kay)
"Ekta told me Dhara means Earth in Sanskrit. Earlier, I was very confused with the pronunciation of the name. On the sets some used to call me Dhra. But now Dhara has become my second name as all my fans recognize me by that name."
Prachi Desai (Bani - Kasamh Se)
"Bani means Vani (Guru Vani). In the beginning, I and my mother were very confused so we just asked the meaning from the creative members. But now Bani has become my identity so it feels great."
Karan Hakku (Kanav - Kahe Na Kahe)
"It's a very unusual name but I don't know the meaning. Anyways, I'm still enjoying having it as my screen name as it is my second name after Karan."
Gunjan (Archita - Kyunki)
"To be honest I was not interested in knowing my on-screen name. I only wanted to know about my character and what shape it will take. I guess Ekta must have given me a name which is close to my character so Archita is innocent but dumb! My family members and friends were curious to know the meaning of my name but all I can say is Archita is very close to my heart."
"Nahar means Lion or one who is fearless. When I got the role of Nahar I asked some of my Rajput friends about the meaning. I'm very thankful to all my fans for accepting me as Sharad."
